Yasmien Kurdi wears same gown from 'StarStruck' days in GMA Gala 2025

Yasmien Kurdi paid homage to her "StarStruck" days at the GMA Gala 2025. On social media, the Kapuso actress shared a photo of herself on the blue carpet at the gala night, confidently strutting in a red tube gown—an upcycled version of the one she wore 21 years ago. "Do you remember this gown? This is the very same gown I wore during Starstruck's Judgement Night 21 years ago!" Yasmien said. According to Yasmien, she wanted to quietly pay tribute to everything GMA Network has done for her, so she decided to have the gown upcycled by Filipino fashion designer JC Buendia. "I had the best time at the Gala reconnecting with old friends who truly feel like family. Happy 75th, GMA! Here's to many more years of storytelling and memories," she wrote. Yasmien was among the contestants of "StarStruck" Season 1 that aired on GMA Network in 2023. She finished as the First Princess with Jennylyn Mercado being hailed as the Ultimate Female Survivor. She is married to Rey Soldevilla and has two daughters, Ayesha and Raya. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA Integrated News

In celebration of its milestone 75th anniversary, GMA Network unveils a touching station ID that brings together the biggest and brightest Kapuso stars and personalities – all united in one heartfelt message: Kapuso, maraming salamat. With the theme "Forever One with the Filipino," the station ID serves not only as a tribute but a heartfelt expression of gratitude and celebration of the bond between the Network and its viewers. From its humble beginnings as a radio station to becoming the Philippines' leading broadcast network, GMA's journey has always been fueled by the unwavering support of its Kapuso viewers. This enduring bond takes center stage in this star-studded video. The station ID opens with the biggest Kapuso stars and personalities: Kapuso Primetime King and Queen Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards, multi-awarded broadcast journalist Jessica Soho, Kapuso Comedy Genius Michael V., GMA Integrated News pillar Mel Tiangco, Global Fashion Icon Heart Evangelista, Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo, and Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado. Together, they deliver a sincere message: "Kapuso, maraming salamat sa inyong pagmamahal, sa inyong walang sawang pag-suporta, sa pagtitiwalang patuloy n'yong ibinibigay, sa inyong matatamis na ngiti, sa mahigpit n'yong yakap na damang-dama naming lahat, at sa inyong pagtanggap sa amin sa inyong puso at tahanan.' Adding more brilliance to the station ID is a vibrant line-up of Sparkle stars led by Barbie Forteza, David Licauco, Julie Anne San Jose, Rayver Cruz, Ruru Madrid, Bianca Umali, Sanya Lopez, Miguel Tanfelix, Gabbi Garcia, Jillian Ward, Sofia Pablo. Beloved personalities such as the country's King of Talk, Boy Abunda, Comedy Concert Queen AiAi delas Alas, and many more also lend their voices to the Network's powerful tribute. GMA Network's 75th Anniversary Station ID continues with award-winning journalists Vicky Morales, Emil Sumangil, Arnold Clavio, Howie Severino, Kara David, Pia Arcangel, Atom Araullo, Ivan Mayrina, Melo del Prado, Orly Mercado, and other personalities from GMA Integrated News, GMA Public Affairs, and GMA Radio. Aptly serving as the theme song of the station ID is 'Isa Sa Puso ng Pilipino,' performed by Julie Anne San Jose and other Kapuso singers, and was accompanied by the Orchestra of the Filipino Youth (OFY). The lyrics were penned by Brian James Camaya, Christine Autor, Samantha Toloza, and Rina L. Mercado, with composition by Rina L. Mercado and arrangement by Roxy E. Fabian and Joe L. Cruz. The jingle was produced by Rocky S. Gacho. Watch GMA Network's 75th Anniversary station ID on its official YouTube channel @gmanetwork and Facebook page, or visit

David Licauco, Jillian Ward not worried about chemistry in 'Never Say Die' despite age gap

David Licauco and Jillian Ward are not worried about building their chemistry in their upcoming series "Never Say Die" despite their large age gap. In an interview with GMA News Online on the sidelines of the GMA Gala 2025, the Pambansang Ginoo admitted initially feeling a little uncertain about their tandem. "To be honest with you, the first thing na naisip ko is babagay kaya? 'Di ba, to be completely honest," he said. "Pero s'yempre kahit naman sino maiisip 'yun kung bago 'yung makakasama mo sa isang teleserye." "But Jillian is such a great actress and I'd like to think na OK naman ako so I think it will work," he added. Asked about their age difference—David is 31 and while Jillian is 20—the actor said it will all boil down to their acting. "Well mukha pa naman kasi akong 19 eh. Joke lang," he quipped. Jillian, meanwhile, said she is grateful for the opportunity to work with David. "Feeling ko may matututunan ako sa kanya. For sure mas marami siyang alam compared sa akin so I wanna learn from him," the Star of the New Gen told GMA News Online. Asked if there is some awkwardness between them at first, Jillian said there was none because of her long experience as a child actress. "Parang wala naman po lalo na especially ako ang dami ko na rin pong naka-work na of all ages, iba-ibang age so far," she said. "Never Say Die" held their story conference last week. David and Jillian lead a star-studded cast that includes Kim Ji Soo, Richard Yap, Raheel Bhyria, Angelou De Leon, Analyn Barro, Wendell Ramos, Raymart Santiago, and more. —CDC, GMA Integrated News
