Manny Jacinto on starring in 'Freakier Friday': 'It feels like a dream'
Manny attended the Philippine premiere of the 'Freaky Friday' sequel on Tuesday, where he expressed his excitement about being part of the cult classic franchise.
'It feels like a dream. Honestly, I never would have thought that I'd be, you know, I was born here [Philippines] so like a local boy that gets to act opposite Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis is wild to me,' Manny said.
'Never would have thought. But here we are,' he added.
The actor also charmed Filipino fans by speaking Tagalog, his words made more endearing by his Canadian accent.
'Sana panoorin ninyo ang 'Freakier Friday.' Maraming maraming salamat po,' he said.
Manny plays the role of a hot chef and a single dad Eric Davies, the love interest of Anna (Lindsay) in the sequel.
Aside from 'Freakier Friday,' the actor is known for playing Qimir in 'Star Wars: The Acolyte,' and Jason Mendoza on "The Good Place.'

Jillian Ward, David Licacuco take up gun handling, knife fighting training for 'Never Say Die'
Jillian Ward and David Licauco are currently undergoing various training for their upcoming action-drama project "Never Say Die." According to Nelson Canlas' report on "24 Oras," Wednesday, Jillian is training with action veterans Raymart Santiago, Wendell Ramos, and Tanjo Villoso. "I'm 20, I'm trying something new, mas matured na po, mas seryoso and action na talaga," Jillian said. "Ngayon po nagsa-start kami with sticks para lang po makapag-warm up. Tapos po tuturuan nila ako paano humawak ng baril properly, mga kicks, ganiyan. So parang a mixture of everything po siya," she said. Like Jillian, David also requires intense training for the series. "Mag-aaral kami ng arnis, also mga knife, knifing, fighting. I think mag-aaral din kami ng guns. Noong bata ako, 'yun 'yung pangarap ko eh, 'yung maging gaya ni Jet Li. Mahilig akong mag-boxing, tsaka nag-karate ako noong bata ako," David said. His background as a varsity basketball player has aided him, particularly with the footwork. "'Yung arnis, I think it's puro footwork, and basketball player, so medyo athletic naman tayo kahit papaano, 'di ba? So yeah, I would say kaya naman. Needs improvement pa siyempre," he said. Joey Marquez recalls telling partner Malu Quintana: Don't change me, let me change
Joey Marquez opened up about the transformative power of acceptance in his relationship with his partner, Malu Quintana, revealing a core philosophy that has guided his personal evolution. On Wednesday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Joey said that the best thing about Malu is that she's very understanding, listens well, and accepted him for who he is. Pero once they found the real one, kahit balibaliktarin mo 'yan, hindi na aalis sa 'yan," Joey said. Despite this, Joey said that he is now "very monogamous."
