Led by American Water President and Chief Executive Officer John Griffith and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Cheryl Norton, the engagements included representation from 11 states and more than 40 meetings with congressional offices. Key topics focused on policy issues that affect water utilities, investment in water and wastewater infrastructure, the future of clean water access and other key legislative priorities.
'It is important to elevate the urgent need for continued investment in aging water and wastewater systems and to highlight the policies to assist with this,' said Rich Svindland, President of Missouri American Water. 'The continued investments we make in communities across the state are necessary to provide reliable and high-quality water and wastewater service.'
This year's fly-in underscored the need for significant investment in water infrastructure, especially given the American Society of Civil Engineers' (ASCE) 2025 Report Card for America's Infrastructure. The nation's drinking water systems received a grade of 'C-' and wastewater systems a grade of 'D+,' highlighting the serious challenges facing U.S. water and wastewater utilities. American Water plans to invest $40–$42 billion over the next decade in infrastructure upgrades and repairs, including right here in Missouri.

The amendments to the Note Agreements are intended, among other things, (i) to permit TCIL to manage the Containers on behalf of GCI Funding in a manner consistent with TCIL's management of intermodal containers owned by TCIL and its subsidiaries and (ii) to more closely conform default events, financial tests and other provisions in the Note Agreements to similar provisions in the agreements governing outstanding secured indebtedness of TCIL and its subsidiaries. The Consent Solicitation is scheduled to expire at 5:00 p.m., New York City time, on August 14, 2025, unless extended by GCI Funding (the 'Expiration Date'). Holders of Notes who validly deliver consents to the Proposed Amendments in the manner described in the Consent Solicitation Statement will be eligible to receive a consent fee equal to $0.50 per $1,000 unpaid principal balance of the Notes for which consents have been validly delivered prior to the Expiration Date and not validly revoked prior to the Revocation Deadline. Holders providing consents after the Expiration Date will not receive the consent fee. The consent fee will be paid to consenting holders as promptly as practicable after the satisfaction or waiver of the conditions to the Consent Solicitation, as further described in the Consent Solicitation Statement. Approval of the Proposed Amendments requires the consent of the holders of not less than a majority of the aggregate unpaid principal balance of the Notes (the 'Requisite Consents'). Only holders of the Notes are being solicited for their consent to the Proposed Amendments. The consummation of the Consent Solicitation is subject to a number of conditions that are set forth in the Consent Solicitation Statement, including, without limitation, (i) the receipt by the Tabulation Agent (as defined below), on or prior to the Expiration Date, of the Requisite Consents, (ii) the Proposed Amendments being executed and becoming effective, and (iii) the absence of any regulatory or other legal impediments to the prompt implementation of the Proposed Amendments, the entering into of the Proposed Amendments or the payment of any Consent Fee to the holders of Notes in respect thereof or any law, regulation or proceeding that would question the legality or validity of any thereof. If the Requisite Consents are received, then, upon execution of the Proposed Amendments and payment of the consent fee, the Proposed Amendments will be operative and be binding upon all holders of Notes, whether or not such holders have delivered consents to the Proposed Amendments. Mitsubishi Electric's ME Innovation Fund Invests in Pale Blue, Startup Developing Water-based Propulsion Systems for Satellites

TOKYO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced today that its ME Innovation Fund has invested in Japan-based Pale Blue Inc., a startup engaged in the development, manufacturing, and sales of propulsion systems for small satellites that use water as a propellant. This is the 13th investment the fund has made to date. In recent years, the number of satellite launches has increased significantly worldwide, and the number of businesses utilizing satellite constellations has rapidly expanded. Propulsion systems, which serve as the driving force for satellite operation and orbital transfer, are critical components of satellite missions. This has led to growing demand for propulsion technologies that offer superior safety, cost efficiency, and lower environmental impact. Founded in 2020 as a deep-tech startup originating from the University of Tokyo, Pale Blue is developing proprietary water-based propulsion systems that leverage two core technologies: low-pressure, ambient-temperature water vaporization and the generation of low-power plasma with oxidation resistance, aiming to thereby realize a safe and sustainable space infrastructure. Compared to conventional propellants, water is significantly safer, more cost-effective, widely available, and environmentally friendly. Pale Blue has already completed multiple in-orbit demonstrations using small satellites, confirming the technical credibility and reliability of its solution. Pale Blue is also progressing efforts to establish its own production capabilities, which include the establishment of a production engineering development site. For the full text, please visit:

New pulp mill boosts Suzano's sales and revenue in the second quarter of 2025

SíO PAULO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Suzano, the world's largest pulp producer, announces its results for the second quarter of 2025 (2Q25), reporting sales of 3.7 million tonnes of pulp and paper. Sales increased 28% over the same period in 2024 (2Q24), mainly reflecting the strong operational contribution of the new Ribas do Rio Pardo pulp mill, whose production started in July 2024. Net revenue in the quarter totaled R$13.3 billion, a 16% increase compared to 2Q24. The expansion of pulp production capacity in Brazil, combined with the positive contribution to paper sales from the mills recently acquired in the United States and favorable FX rates, mitigated the impact on net revenue of lower pulp prices in the global market compared to 2Q24. As a result, Suzano's adjusted EBITDA reached R$6.1 billion and operating cash generation totaled R$4.1 billion. Net profit totaled R$5.0 billion positively impacted by the accounting impact of US dollar denominated debt and hedging operations translating into Brazilian Real. Beto Abreu, CEO of Suzano, commented: 'We have just marked the first year of our new pulp mill in Ribas do Rio Pardo, whose strong operational performance has already strengthened our cost competitiveness. At the same time, we continued to execute on our long-term strategy of value-accretive growth, announcing our landmark joint venture with Kimberly-Clark. We will remain disciplined and focused on capturing the potential economic gains we believe exist in the new joint venture and on further enhancing our competitiveness in the coming years.' Suzano's net leverage in U.S. dollars ended the quarter at 3.1 times. The cash cost of pulp production was R$832 per tonne (excluding downtime), a result that demonstrates the beginning of a downward trend in costs, which is expected to become even more significant in the second half of 2025.
