Tony Allen says the Boston Celtics would have beat the Lakers in '10 if Perk was healthy
The Ubuntu era Celtics' last, best shot at an NBA title and dynasty was ultimately foiled by Perk's bad knee and a Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol-led Lakers squad Allen had a front row seat for. Boston would of course have a few more deep postseason runs, but this was as close as they came to hanging a second banner with that core -- and Allen thinks they just missed doing so.
Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what he and Teague had to say about that snapshot in Celtics history for yourself.

Writer urges Lakers to go after former Luka Doncic teammate in 2026
The Los Angeles Lakers' roster looks just about set for the upcoming NBA season. But it could look a lot different next summer when LeBron James and a number of the Lakers' other players will become free agents. James, Deandre Ayton, Marcus Smart, Austin Reaves, Gabe Vincent, Rui Hachimura and Maxi Kleber will or could become free agents in 2026, which would present the Lakers with an immense opportunity to reshape their roster around Luka Doncic. James could leave, and while there is confidence that Reaves will stay put on a new contract, it is anyone's guess whether Ayton, Smart, Hachimura or others will do the same. In any case, Los Angeles will almost certainly have a decent amount of salary cap space to work with. Tyler Watts, a writer for Lake Show Life, feels the team should reunite Doncic with former Dallas Mavericks teammate P.J. Washington next offseason by signing Washington as a free agent. "The 6'7 forward thrived as a starter during the Mavericks' 2024 run to the NBA Finals, led by the Lakers' newest superstar," Watts wrote. "Washington is an unrestricted free agent in the 2026 offseason, and Dallas has Anthony Davis and Cooper Flagg locked in at the forward spots. Washington should look to move on and team up with number 77 in LA. "... Washington averaged 14.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.1 blocks in 32.2 minutes per game last season. He is a streaky shooter, but has made 35.8 percent from 3-point range for his career. Getting a versatile forward capable of guarding multiple positions, rebounding, and knocking down open looks is a win for any contender. "The Lakers could slot Washington in as the defender to cover for Luka and Austin Reaves on that end of the floor. LA needs both stars to compete on defense and let someone else take on the toughest assignments. Washington did just that for Doncic and Kyrie Irving in Dallas and could play a similar role with the Lakers." The Lakers' biggest roster need right now is 3-and-D players at the guard and wing spots. Washington, who is 6-foot-6 and 230 pounds, plays mostly at the 4, which could make him a suitable replacement for Hachimura, who may not remain with the Purple and Gold past this season. In getting to the NBA Finals one calendar year ago, as well as the 2022 Western Conference finals, despite not having an ultra-talented roster, Dallas apparently wrote the blueprint for winning with Doncic. The formula may be to surround him with a co-star who can do some of what he does, whether it was Irving in Dallas or Reaves right now, and very solid two-way players elsewhere throughout the rotation. Washington is about to turn 27 years of age, so he's several months younger than Hachimura, and while he may be a little less capable offensively, he's likely a better defender and definitely a better rebounder.

More Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Images Rockets big Alperen Şengün recently spoke candidly about the Warriors, going as far as to say Golden State constantly complained about fouls. "They're a very experienced team, and they fouled a lot," Şengün said in a recent appearance on the Socrates Dergi podcast. "In the playoffs, they don't call it. But they were the ones crying all series about fouls not being called." There is some truth to Şengün's comments as evidenced by the Warriors' foul tally in Game 6, where the team recorded a total of 30 fouls. Meanwhile, the Rockets had 18 fouls that game. Overall, the Warriors were called for 150 fouls and the Rockets for 124. Nevertheless, Buddy Hield's performance in Game 7 sent the Warriors to the semifinals and left the Rockets watching the remainder of the playoffs at home. Warriors forward Draymond Green didn't mince words when he replied to Şengün's remarks. "That's a tough thing to say after you have to win stuff like that," Green wrote. Draymond Green fires back at Alperen Şengün — NBACentral (@TheDunkCentral) August 20, 2025 The Rockets impressed many throughout the regular season, winning 53 games in the competitive Western Conference. It was the first time Houston had reached the playoffs since 2020. Now, the Rockets will begin the 2025-26 season with one of the biggest faces of the NBA in Kevin Durant. The Phoenix Suns traded Durant on the final day of the season, just hours before Game 7 of the NBA Finals. The future Hall of Famer only fortifies the talented roster, and gives Houston an experienced star who has the championship hardware to prove it. Additionally, the Rockets also added 3-and-D forward Dorian Finney-Smith and Clint Capela to support their young core. Houston is certainly considered a contender heading into the 2025-26 campaign. The Warriors will face the Rockets on Nov. 26 for their first regular season matchup of the season. Tensions will certainly be high between both teams, especially now that the Rockets have added Durant to their squad. Bills QB Josh Allen to sit out entire preseason for first time
Josh Allen will sit out Saturday's game against the host Tampa Bay Buccaneers, marking the first time in his NFL career that the Buffalo Bills quarterback will not play in the preseason. Bills coach Sean McDermott announced Thursday that Allen would not participate in the preseason finale. "(You've) got the reigning MVP, and I feel that he's shown to this point that he's in a good spot," McDermott said. Allen, 29, will be under center on Sept. 7 when the Bills open their season with a rematch of their AFC divisional round playoff game against MVP runner-up Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens in Orchard Park, N.Y. A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Allen completed 63.6 percent of his passes for 3,731 yards, 28 touchdowns and a career-low six interceptions in 2024 while adding 531 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground. The other quarterbacks currently on the Buffalo roster are Mitchell Trubisky, Mike White and Shane Buechele. --Field Level Media Field Level Media 2025 - All Rights Reserved
