Christina Haack had a feeling it would end this way.
The HGTV star opened up about her striking divorce from Josh Hall, telling People she "kind of knew it was going to happen" as filming for her new show "The Flip Off" began.
Her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather Rae El Moussa were also aware of the direction of Haack's marriage.
"I'd been talking to both of them about it," Haack, 41, told the magazine in an interview published Wednesday. "They were aware that there were issues and it's something that we had to sidebar on in regards to how all of us were going to handle even filming with Josh because there was already some difficulty there. So they weren't surprised. And they were also very, very supportive."
In May, it was announced that Haack would star with Hall in the HGTV show "The Flip Off" in a "Flip or Flop" spinoff competition series against the El Moussas. But in July, Haack and Hall, 44, both filed divorce documents in California, citing irreconcilable differences, according to filings obtained by USA TODAY. They had been married since October 2021.
"The Flip Off" premiered on HGTV Wednesday, sans Hall. Continuing to do the show without Hall kept her preoccupied, she said.
"I think it relieved that stress. The show was stressful in itself for different reasons not even having to do with our dynamic," she told People. "Just flipping a house that fast and I haven't flipped in a long time. So I think it was a good distraction."

The television star told Entertainment Tonight late last year that she did not have a good experience working with Hall on the new show.
"When someone is insecure by you and doesn't like to watch you win, that really puts a damper on everything," she told the outlet in November. "I feel like I was not shining as bright to try to not make him feel emasculated. But who wants to live like that?"
She added, "It was not fun, to be honest. I did not enjoy filming with him."

Breanna Banaciski (@tampa_bre) is a 30-year-old Realtor in Tampa, Florida, whose home tour TikToks are so funny they keep going viral — even among people who have absolutely zero plans of ever being able to own a home. (It's me, I'm people.) For example, Breanna started a video about a $1.3 million home by deadpanning, "Please share this with your rich friends. I'm gonna share it with the neck beards and my DMs who keep offering me money to see pictures of my feet. Joke's on you, b****. I have athlete's foot." She continued, saying, "I am way too poor to be in this house right now. Seriously, though, when I was in elementary school and they would have those canned food drives, they'd be like, 'Breanna, why haven't you brought in any cans?' I'm like, these are going to my house. Write my initials on the top of the can." At another home, she quipped, "There's no garage. But let's be honest, you don't need to keep your 2011 Toyota Camry safe." What do you want me to do? It's two minutes from Bayshore Boulevard. You're the one who overextended yourself on an F150 payment. $950 a month. Breanna told me that she's only been working in real estate for nine months, but she had transferable skills from her former career. "I've worked in sales the majority of my life, but hated being stuck inside an office all day. Real estate was a way for me to escape the mundane 9-to-5 job. It also gave me flexibility to travel, which I love doing." She also said that she never expected her videos to go so viral, reaching people far from her home base in Florida. "I'm shocked by how many views I've gotten in this short period of time. I didn't think my 'stand-up comedy' routines would resonate with so many people." And she says that her peers in real estate seem to enjoy her home tours just as much as renters like me. "I have received an overwhelming amount of support from realtors and clients. Everyone really seems to enjoy my videos. I've been told that I'm 'a breath of fresh air.'" Breanna also shared her honest advice for anyone looking to buy a home in 2025. "Work with people that you trust and that have your best interest in mind. The home buying process can be overwhelming and sometimes tiring. Don't buy a home that you aren't 100% sure of. This is one of the biggest purchase decisions you'll ever make. Take your time and enjoy it." Finally, she shared her tips for anyone who's hoping their content will break through like her TikToks have. "If you're a creator or a business looking to grow your social media presence, start creating content that you would want to watch. Don't overthink the analytics.
