Kanimozhi leads Indian delegation in key anti-terror meeting with Slovenian Security Chief
Ljubljana [Slovenia], May 26 (ANI): The all-party delegation led by DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi held a meeting with Vojko Volk, State Secretary and National Coordinator for National and International Security in the Prime Minister's Office, as part of India's ongoing diplomatic outreach following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
Earlier today, the delegation also met with Predrag Bakovic, Chairperson of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Slovenian National Assembly, and Miroslav Gregoric, Chair of the India-Slovenia Parliamentary Friendship Group. The visit to Slovenia comes directly after the delegation's mission to Russia, with the aim of building greater international support for India's position on cross-border terrorism and Operation Sindoor.
BJP MP Brijesh Chowta, a member of the delegation, highlighted India's unwavering position against terrorism, 'especially under Operation Sindoor.' Chowta reflected on the group's recent meetings in Moscow, stating, 'We spoke with the elected representatives, the civil society, and think tanks in Russia. We have sought Russia's support in battling terrorism, which poses a global threat today... Pakistan is not even willing to take the blame for terrorism emanating from their soil... Russia, being our old friend and military ally, has very positively responded to our delegation...'
DMK MP Kanimozhi, who led the delegation's visit to Russia, described the discussions as 'positive,' and emphasised that Russian lawmakers and opinion makers were open to India's perspective.
Speaking to ANI, Kanimozhi said Russian leaders promised to stand with India in the fight against terrorism. She also expressed optimism about the delegation's mission in Slovenia. 'It was a very positive visit, and Russia has always been a very important partner, and they respect us. Our Prime Minister and our External Affairs Minister has spoken to the leaders there and the President and the Foreign Minister about what happened in Pahalgam and they've explained our stand to them already and this delegation has been sent to represent just not the government of India but also the people of India and to express our anguish and pain about what is happening in the Indian soil under cross-border terrorism and how innocent people are being targeted.'
The Group 6 delegation, led by Kanimozhi, also includes SP MP Rajeev Rai, BJP MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Prem Chand Gupta of Rashtriya Janata Dal, Ashok Kumar Mittal of the Aam Aadmi Party, and former Ambassador Manjeev S Puri.
In a diplomatic outreach following Operation Sindoor, the Modi government has formed seven multi-party delegations to inform nations about Pakistan's links to terrorism and India's strong message of zero tolerance for terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The delegation, led by Ravi Shankar Prasad, will brief international partners on India's response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and its broader fight against cross-border terrorism.

US Congressmen support India's right to respond to terrorism
A group of US Congressmen on Wednesday expressed unequivocal and bipartisan condemnation for the Pahalgam terror attack and extended support for India's right to respond to terrorism in the spirit of zero tolerance against terrorism. The lawmakers also hailed the strong strategic partnership between India and the US during a meeting with an all-party delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who briefed them on the cross-border terrorism faced by India and the country's strong and resolute stance in the fight against terror. 'Bipartisan co-chairs @RoKhanna & @RepMcCormick and vice co-chairs @RepAndyBarr & @RepVeasey of India Caucus in the House of Representatives met with the visiting Parliamentary delegation led by @ShashiTharoor today,' the Indian Embassy said in a post on X. The delegation is one of the seven multi-party delegations India had tasked to visit 33 global capitals to reach out to the international community to emphasise Pakistan's links to terrorism. Other members of the delegation are Sarfaraz Ahmad (JMM), Ganti Harish Madhur Balayogi (TDP), Shashank Mani Tripathi (BJP), Bhubaneswar Kalita (BJP), Milind Deora (Shiv Sena), Tejasvi Surya (BJP) and India's former Ambassador to the US Taranjit Sandhu. The countries the delegation visited have 'very clearly understood why India was constrained to respond militarily in the way it did, and have supported India's counterterrorism measure.' On a Pakistani delegation arriving in Washington the same day, Deora said, 'There is no doubt in anyone's mind in the United States that Pakistan is a banana republic, a failed state, a terror exporter, a country where the civilian government has no power, (it's) the army that controls the power. So I don't think that it matters to India that there's a Pakistani delegation trying to play copy and paste.' Surya also said that it was not the 'first time that the Pakistanis tried to copy India in what India tries to do, but they end up a cheap copy.' He said that the world has long observed what India stands for and what Pakistan stands for. Investing in India, he said, is seen as an investment in democracy, responsible civilian leadership and global progress. On the other hand, he noted that every terrorist attack in the last 20-30 years that has rocked the world has had investigations directly or indirectly leading to Pakistan. He added that over 50 UN-designated terrorists have formed a safe haven in Pakistan. 'So the narrative of a country like Pakistan cannot be salvaged by an accented English speaking suit-wearing ex-foreign minister. Pakistan's hands are too full in blood to be washed away by this overnight drama,' Surya said. Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, with India carrying out precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in the early hours of May 7. Satellite Pics Of 2 Russian Airbases Reveal Extent Of Damage By Ukrainian Drones

At both these airbases, one can see the debris of several military aircraft that were lined up on the tarmac at the time of the attack. At the Belaya air base, located more than 4,000 kilometres inside Russian territory, satellite pictures taken on June 4 show the fuselage and wings of at least two of Russia's frontline bomber - the Tupolev Tu-95 - burnt to ashes. The intensity of the explosions here were so intense that debris can be seen flung nearly 100 meters away where a decoy can be seen painted on the tarmac. Another picture shows four Tupolev Tu-22 supersonic bombers - a mainstay of the Russian Air Force- parked on the tarmac while a fifth is seen completely decimated further down the parking bay. The image suggests that some clean-up activity has happened in the last two days, with parts of the destroyed aircraft removed from the area. The Tupolev Tu-22 is used to target enemy aircraft carriers and other naval assets of the enemy, however, due to its speed, versatility, and adaptability, these sleekly designed bombers have been used for missions to target ground-based military assets deep inside enemy territory. Moscow was caught off-guard presumably over the fact that these airbases are located so far inside Russia that the sheer distance was enough to keep aircraft safe from a Ukrainian attack. Though western allies have supplied Ukraine with missiles too - the US-made ATACMS and the British-French-made Storm Shadow - neither has the range to hit these air bases located deep inside Russian territory. Despite the successful drone attack, the Russian Air Force, which has an immensely greater aircraft fleet, maintains air superiority over Ukraine. Ukraine's attack though has given a huge boost to Kyiv's morale, while creating a big dent on the morale of Moscow. According to US President Donald Trump, who spoke to Vladimir Putin for over an hour today, the Russian President has vowed to retaliate Ukraine's attack. In a post on social media platform Truth Social, President Trump wrote, "I just finished speaking, by telephone, with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia. The call lasted approximately one hour and 15 minutes. We discussed the attack on Russia's docked airplanes, by Ukraine, and also various other attacks that have been taking place by both sides. It was a good conversation, but not a conversation that will lead to immediate Peace. President Putin did say, and very strongly, that he will have to respond to the recent attack on the airfields."
