Gary Lineker ‘can't wait' to host new ITV show The Box after BBC exit
Each week two players will face The Duel, a finale in which the loser leaves the competition for good.
Lineker, who had presented Match Of The Day since 1999, said an emotional goodbye in an early departure from the broadcaster on May 26.
It followed a social media row after he shared a post about Zionism, which featured a depiction of a rat, historically an antisemitic insult.

Lineker, who was the BBC's highest-paid presenter, issued an unreserved apology for the social media video he shared, which led to his early exit from the BBC.
Lineker was due to host BBC Sport's coverage of the FA Cup in the 2025-26 season.
Lineker said: 'I can't wait to host The Box. I've always felt right at home in the box on a football pitch and whilst this is a different proposition, the fundamentals are similar.
'The contestants will have to quickly and masterfully work out how each game works, whilst also trying to get ahead of the competition to take control.
'It's going to be unpredictable and thrilling to watch, and I'm excited that I get to have a front row seat to all the action.'
Katie Rawcliffe, director of entertainment, reality and daytime commissioning at ITV, said: 'Gary is the perfect fit for The Box, an entertaining, exhilarating and immersive new format.'
Dan Adamson, chief content officer at production company Twofour, added: 'We're delighted to be making The Box with ITV and Seefood TV.
'From the first time we saw those iconic yellow boxes open in an incredible location we were hooked. Now, with Gary on board, we have the ideal master of ceremonies to make this real event telly, he is after all a man who knows what it's like under pressure in the box.
'He's sure to raise the competitive spirit as our cast bursts out of those boxes, into unknown, ambitious and spectacular challenges.'
The Box was first launched on TV2 in Norway in January this year.
ITV's version of the show will be filmed in the UK later this year and air in 2026.
Lineker also co-hosts The Rest Is Football podcast, which moved to internet sports streaming platform DAZN after he left the BBC.

The crew are entirely bemused and exhausted by it — in what world is it normal for a boss to be banned from talking to his staff?" The BBC said in a statement: "While we do not comment on individual cases, we take all complaints about conduct at work extremely seriously and will not tolerate behaviour that is not in line with our values. "We have robust processes in place and would encourage any staff with concerns to raise them directly with us so they can be addressed." Representatives for Naga, Richard and Charlie are yet to respond to the claims, the Mirror reports. Talkback is where production staff can speak with presenters from the gallery via their earpiece. It's been claimed that Richard's editorial team now communicates with the presenting duo. The source added: "Bosses are desperate to get Breakfast back on an even keel and know the tension between Fredi, Charlie and Naga is at the heart of the rising crisis." The change was said to have been brought in as a method to "manage the situation in the hope it will all blow over". It comes after reports that Charlie Stayt may also face a probe following reports that Naga is "under review" over "bullying" claims. This comes after the BBC star allegedly "kicked off" at an intern over 'how they spread Marmite on her toast'. A whistleblower has also alleged Naga complained her porridge was "too hot" and she didn't like the blueberry topping on the dish. It was claimed last week that multiple colleagues have filed complaints over Naga's alleged bullying behaviour on BBC Breakfast and her BBC Radio 5 Live show, which she presents from Monday to Wednesday. It has been claimed the BBC has officially moved to "place the complaints under review". The insider told The Sun: "The review is to ascertain whether a full-on investigation is required and that could come in weeks". MasterChef replaced in schedules just weeks into new series after presenter axe
MasterChef is facing yet another hurdle after being pulled from the schedule by the BBC just weeks after making a controversial return to screens with Gregg Wallace hosting MasterChef has been plunged into chaos yet again after being replaced in the TV schedule just weeks after it returned for the latest season. The current run of episodes has already caused controversy after it was allowed to air with Gregg Wallace at the forefront despite a recent report upholding 45 claims against him. The show has a substantially reduced viewership compared to last year, with a drop from 2.7 million to 1.96 million tuning in for the the series debut. While the current series is scheduled to air on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday weekly, it has been bumped from the schedule on August 22nd for the Women's Rugby World Cup. As of yet there is no confirmed date for when the postponed episode will go to air instead from the BBC. England will be hosting the 10th Women's Rugby World Cup from August 22 until September 27. The tournament will see the home nation play the first game as they take on the USA, while reigning champions New Zealand face their first opponents Spain on August 24th. It comes after John Torode's wife Lisa Faulkner breaks her silence after his MasterChef sacking. Both Wallace and John Torode - who was recently sacked over allegations he had used a racist term which he vehemently denied - feature in the new series in a edited down format, mush to the disappointment of many viewers. A source told the Mirror: 'There is a feeling the complainants have been ignored and cast aside. It's the BBC burying their head in the sand all over again. There is a lot and lot of anger over this. WhatsApp groups are blowing up.' The new series made its debut on iPlayer on Wednesday morning, with the first three episodes added to the streaming platform. The season opener was then broadcast on BBC One later that evening at 8pm. Wallace was fired by the BBC following multiple complaints of misconduct that were upheld, including his use of inappropriate sexual language. Torode, meanwhile, was sacked over claims that he had used a racist term. The BBC decided to air the latest series after the two sackings as the amateur chefs featured in the run of episodes 'gave their heart and soul' to it. In a statement, they said: "After careful consideration and consultation with the contestants, we have decided to broadcast the amateur series of MasterChef on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 6 August. Big Brother winner unrecognisable 7 years after 'accidental' win
The then-19-year-old won what was thought to be the last ever series of Big Brother. Big Brother's Cameron Cole went down in history in 2018, when he won what was thought to be the last ever series at the age of 19. The beloved reality programme has since returned on ITV, with a third season yet to air later this year. During his time in the iconic house, Cameron was showered in support from fans and his fellow housemates after coming out as gay, in one of TV's most emotional moments. Reflecting on that moment in a recent interview with Metro, Cameron revealed that he'd only told his best friend beforehand and had written letters to his family, which he still has. He feared the news would 'go down badly' with the other contestants and the public - only to have a completely different reaction. He told the publication: 'Once you come out on TV, you can't really do it again. I just don't even think about it now because there's no point hiding it. It is out there everywhere, and for that, I'm very grateful. [If I hadn't done it] I probably wouldn't have been living my true life which is never obviously a good thing.' Cameron went on to win the £100,000 from what he calls an 'accidental' win, but told host Emma Willis at the time that he didn't know what he'd plan to spend it on because he 'hadn't really thought that far ahead'. Unlike the likes of Alison Hammond and Josie Gibson, who have also appeared on Big Brother, Cameron opted for a quieter life away from fame following his stint on the show. He studied psychology in London and was in a long-term relationship with his boyfriend who he met in the city, though he still keeps his relationship and personal life private. In a post back in 2023, Cameron reflected on his fame from Big Brother, celebrating five years since he won the show. Alongside snaps from the show, he wrote on Instagram: 'I cannot believe it's been 5 years since the best 53 days of my life. I'm still so grateful to have done something as life changing as Big Brother. I lived my dream, and it never disappointed. 'I'm so glad big brother is back and that I won't be the last winner forever. I've loved this series so much and can relive it in a way I hadn't been able to. 'I can't explain how much I miss big brother and there isn't a day that goes by where I don't miss the house, housemates and absolutely everything it entitled, the BB voices, the task, diary room, chats, laughs the whole f*****g thing.' He went on: 'It was the safest and happiest I've ever been and will ever be. My safe haven the first place I felt I belonged and was normal. I love what was the best set of housemates and people. 'The memories made I'll never forget or get bored of remembering. I'll always miss it and crave the feeling and experience again, but when it makes me sad, I try to remember just how lucky I was to do it. 'Thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with me at any point. It's always been so appreciated. I'll never forget you and I'll always miss you, big brother, more than anyone will ever know. 'You made a sad boy with no hope a happy boy and gave me the most priceless prizes: hope and reason to live and laugh again.
