"Sonic 4" Lands March 2027 Release Date

'Sonic the Hedgehog 4' is sprinting to theaters on March 19, 2027.
The fourth installment in Paramount's family-friendly franchise is currently the only title on that date.
Paramount announced the fourquel in the Sega video game-inspired franchise even before the third 'Sonic' adventure hit the big screen.
The decision that turned out to be prescient given that 'Sonic the Hedgehog 3,' which debuted in December, is officially the property's highest-grossing entry with $218 million domestically and $422 million globally to date.
'Sonic 3″ builds on the commercial success of its predecessors; the original 2020 'Sonic the Hedgehog' became a surprise winner, earning $148 million domestically and $319 million globally and setting a then-record for the highest-grossing video game adaptation in North America. And the 2022 sequel 'Sonic the Hedgehog 2″ was bigger than the first, powering to $190 million domestically and $405 million globally.
Earlier in January, the 'Sonic' franchise collectively surpassed $1 billion in box office receipts worldwide.
Paramount reported that 'Sonic' has driven over $180 million in global consumer spending from home entertainment rentals and digital purchases.
There's also the Paramount+ spinoff television series 'Knuckles,' which premiered in 2024.
Jeff Fowler has directed all three 'Sonic' films, with Ben Schwartz providing the voice of the blue, anthropomorphic speedster with a knack for busting bad guys. Jim Carrey plays the hedgehog's main antagonist Dr. Robotnik, while Idris Elba and Colleen O'Shaughnessey voice Sonic's pals Knuckles and Tails.
In the third live-action/ CGI hybrid adventure, Keanu Reeves voices the mysterious Shadow the Hedgehog while Carrey does double duty as Dr. Robotnik's grandfather, Gerald.

Cillian Murphy, Daniel Craig in Talks to Star in Damien Chazelle's Next Movie

Yara Sameh Cillian Murphy and Daniel Craig are in talks to star in an untitled prison drama movie from 'La La Land' director Damien Chazelle. The Oscar-winning filmmaker will write and direct the untitled project for Paramount Pictures. Chazelle is also producing with Olivia Hamilton through their company, Wild Chickens Productions. If Murphy and Craig's deals close, production is aiming to start later this year. The film reunites Chazelle with Paramount, which funded the director's prior theatrical swing, 2022's 'Babylon.' The ode to showbiz, starring Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie, became an epic box office disaster with $63 million worldwide against its $80 million budget. Chazelle's other film credits include 'Whiplash' and 'First Man.' Chazelle set a first-look deal with Paramount in 2022. The studio announced in 2024 that Chazelle was working on a new movie — a biopic about stunt performer Evel Knievel led by Leonardo DiCaprio — but the filmmaker pivoted his attention after DiCaprio dropped out. Instead, Chazelle will have to settle for working with other A-list talent. Murphy recently won an Oscar for playing the theoretical physicist who developed the atomic bomb in Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer.' Meanwhile, Craig, who recently retired as James Bond, will appear next in Rian Johnson's third 'Knives Out' mystery — titled 'Wake Up Dead Man' — and Greta Gerwig's 'Narnia' adaptation. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies

Tom Cruise's "Mission: Impossible - Final Reckoning" Dazzles Cannes

Yara Sameh Tom Cruise said goodbye to the epic 'Mission: Impossible' franchise in electrifying fashion at the Cannes Film Festival, where 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning' earned a five-minute ovation thanks in part to Cruise's commitment to putting breathless and death-defying practical stunts on the big screen. The Cannes premiere was a massive event, with a 40-piece orchestra welcoming guests into the theater with the franchise's iconic theme before the screening. The audience lapped up the film's special effects, but the long run-time left some theatergoers bleary-eyed and exhausted. In the final stretch of the film, featuring death-defying acrobatics from Cruise, a handful of attendees got up and fled the Palais. Though Cruise's willingness to risk his life for 'Mission: Impossible' has been covered relentlessly, what the Cannes audience did not expect was how much he was willing to bare all. The 62-year-old survived a three-minute knife fight sequence on a submarine wearing only skimpy boxer briefs. The same was true for part of the film's mind-blowing underwater sequence. During the standing ovation, Cruise clutched his heart and nodded gratefully, with both he and director Christopher McQuarrie kissing and thanking guests Zoe Saldaña and Marco Perego-Saldaña. As the clapping continued, the camera panned to each member of the large cast, including Simon Pegg, Angela Bassett, and Hayley Atwell. 'This response is why we do it. You are why we do it. The big screen experience is why we do it,' McQuarrie said in a speech, which ended up being longer than the ovation itself. 'Thank you all for being here and for supporting us. I want to thank this extraordinary cast — when I tell you how extraordinary they are, it wasn't just showing up to work every day. This film was made during a pandemic and two industry strikes. These two films were made over a period of seven years with a lot of uncertainty, a lot of gaps in between their faith and their hard work, their dedication, their unquestioning devotion to this. This film would not be possible without the hard work of each and every one of these people standing up here. It's the most extraordinary cast in the world.' Of Cruise, the director continued: 'As a kid, I didn't fit in, and a lot of my life was imaginative play. I got to grow up and have my very own action figure.' McQuarrie then passed the mic to Cruise. 'To be here in Cannes and have these moments — I mean as a kid when we were growing up, I really can't even dream of something like this happening,' he said. 'I think McQ said it all, I'm just very grateful for 30 years to be able to entertain you with this franchise.' Addressing McQuarrie, the movie star said, 'Grateful to you, my friend. Every step of the way what you've done and how you've expanded it — it just went beyond our expectations. I look forward to making a bunch of other kind of movies with you, I can't wait.' Cruise and Paramount are surely hoping 'The Final Reckoning' follows in the footsteps of 'Top Gun: Maverick,' which dazzled Cannes in 2022 and earned a five-minute standing ovation on its way to $1.46 billion at the worldwide box office that summer. The 'Top Gun' sequel's Cannes premiere was an extravaganza complete with eight fighter jets flying over the Palais as Cruise and the cast walked down the red carpet. Cruise was also awarded a surprise Honorary Palme d'Or before the screening. Whether or not 'The Final Reckoning' can match the box office highs of 'Top Gun: Maverick' remains to be seen. Cruise's last 'Mission: Impossible' outing, 2023's 'Dead Reckoning Part One,' ended its run with a disappointing $571 million worldwide, a sharp decline from the $791 million that 2018's 'Fallout' earned. But one can never doubt Cruise's ability to deliver a blockbuster. In addition to Cruise, 'The Final Reckoning' brings back franchise stalwarts like Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames. The cast also includes Hayley Atwell, Vanessa Kirby, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, Angela Bassett, and Rolf Saxon, all of whom appeared in previous 'Mission: Impossible' installments. Newcomers to the series include Janet McTeer, Hannah Waddingham, and Nick Offerman. The film is directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who helmed three previous 'Mission: Impossible' movies. 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning' opens in theaters May 23 from Paramount Pictures. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War
