Suspect accused of hitting man with SUV at The Bird in Dunwoody turns himself in
The Dunwoody Police Department said Monday morning that Sheldon Mayers turned himself in at the jail on Wednesday evening.
He is accused of hitting Terry Crosby on April 25 after getting into an altercation with Mayers over his girlfriend.
Channel 2 Action News previously reported that 'a man and his girlfriend were sitting at the bar when another man walked up to them. The second man touched the woman to get her attention, which led to a fight inside the restaurant,' according to investigators.

After The Bird staff broke up the fight, management told them all to leave, according to police. In the parking lot, Mayers is accused of intentionally hitting Crosby with his car, putting him in the hospital.
Police said Crosby remains in the hospital in stable condition.
Having turned himself in, Mayers faces three felony charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and hit and run resulting in serious injury or death.
Jail records show Mayers has been released on bond from the DeKalb County Jail.

Road rage incident in Atlanta leaves 2 kids shot at East Point gas station, police say
Two children are suffering from gunshot wounds after a road rage incident that started in Atlanta and ended in East Point. Channel 2's Steve Gehlbach is on Main Street in East Point, where police say two girls, an eight-year-old and 13-year-old, were shot in the arms. The incident started in Atlanta, according to the Atlanta Police Department. A crime scene is still active at a gas station in East Point, at the intersection of Main Street and Knotts Avenue. Raiders' Smith and Crosby make obscene gestures toward Seahawks fans
HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Geno Smith and defensive end Maxx Crosby were captured on videos making obscene gestures toward Seattle Seahawks fans as they entered the field before their preseason game Thursday night. Detroit Lions safety Brian Branch was fined $10,128 for making a similar gesture to Green Bay Packers fans last November, according to Pro Football Talk. Several videos of the actions by Smith and Crosby made the rounds on social media Friday. One video showed the team gathered as it was ready to enter the field. Crosby is seen bouncing on his feet and appears to be talking to fans and tries to grab a sign. Then Smith joins Crosby in jumping up and down and looks in the direction of those fans. As the team begins to run onto the field, Smith makes an obscene gesture to the fans with Crosby immediately following with his own. At least one fan appeared to be taunting the players before the gestures were made. The then-Oakland Raiders drafted Russell first overall in 2007, but he went 7-18 as the starting quarterback played only three seasons. Smith was the Seahawks' starter the past three seasons before failing to come to terms on a new deal. He followed his former coach, Pete Carroll, when the Raiders traded for him. Thursday's game ended 23-23. ___
