Columbus contortionist appears on America's Got Talent
Amadou Diallo moved to Columbus from Conakry, Guinea, in 2024 and recently appeared on the newest season of America's Got Talent on NBC. Diallo's talent not only got the approval from all of the show's judges but also made jaws drop during his showcase.
Diallo is a contortionist who always knew he was super flexible, but didn't put his talent to use until 2017. He started using his unique and challenging poses as a form of art and entertainment.

Auditions for AGT were a dream come true for Diallo, who has the chance to appear in the live shows. Diallo appeared on the show's season premiere, earning positive feedback that described Diallo's act as 'amazing.' Diallo received a 'yes' from judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Mel B and Sofia Vergara.
'I can't believe I got to perform on the stage,' Diallo said. 'It's my dream to perform… I want to win.'
Along with practicing his contortion acts until 3 a.m., Diallo was working two jobs. However, Diallo found his inspiration through his twin brother, who still lives in Guinea. Diallo hopes to be reunited with his brother in the U.S.
If chosen for the live shows of AGT, Diallo said he will continue to work harder on his skills, helping him move on in the competition. While on his journey, Diallo is also hoping to see more opportunities with his contortion acts in the Columbus area as well.
Season 20 of America's Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC4.

Jenna Bush Hager Complains On ‘Today' About Taylor Swift Announcing Her Album At Midnight: 'Why Can't They Drop It At 12 p.m.?'
Today's Jenna Bush Hager may be a devoted Taylor Swift fan, but she is also an infamously early riser, which means she sadly missed the news about Swift's 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl when it dropped at midnight Aug. 11. Bush Hager and Today guest host Erin Andrews gushed about the news during Tuesday's broadcast. While Bush Hager was thrilled about the news – and to see Swift on her boyfriend Travis Kelce's podcast – she also had some minor complaints about the announcement. 'You know I'm a Swiftie, but why does she have to drop everything at midnight?' Bush Hager asked. When Andrews launched into a silly rendition of Swift's 'Midnights,' Bush Hager said, 'No, I get it. I get it.' 'It's her thing!' Andrews said. 'It's too late for you.' 'I think everybody drops things at midnight. Why can't she drop it at 12 p.m.?' Bush Hager wondered. But Andrews defended the midnight release, which has become increasingly popular for artists in the streaming era. 'It's her thing! It's what makes her so magical. I love it so much,' Andrews said. Bush Hager later pointed out that Andrews is also quite 'friendly' with Swift and Kelce. The sports journalist went on a snowy getaway with them back in March, and she only had good things to say about the couple. 'What do you think about the fact that she announced it on his podcast?' Bush Hager asked Andrews. 'I think for them to announce it on his podcast confirms everything that all of us Swifties would hope, which is that they've got something really great going on.' Andrews admitted that the sneak peek into Swift's upcoming appearance on the New Heights podcast, which airs Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET, had her 'squealing like a little girl.' 'They are so fun to be around,' Andrews said. 'Everybody already knows his personality. He's hilarious, he's super swaggy, he's so fun. She is hysterical, so witty… I'm so excited for this podcast to drop tomorrow.' But Andrews played coy when Bush Hager asked if she could see them 'walking down the aisle soon.' 'I don't know,' Andrews said. 'I hope so, I hope so! I love love and it's fun to be around them.' Today with Jenna & Friends airs on weekdays at 10/9c on NBC. Solve the daily Crossword

The Biggest Loser examined in new docuseries
We're far enough past the turn of the century that we can look at the era with nostalgia. Think of Y2K fashion and flip phones and MySpace — oh my! But some cultural curiosities of the time could be considered, well, questionable. On the small screen, reality TV was just starting to become a thing. We winced at insults on American Idol, and we watched cutthroat gameplay on Survivor. And, in 2004, a show debuted that addressed the obesity crisis in a way we'd never seen before: The Biggest Loser. The NBC series initially aired for 18 seasons until 2016, chronicling contestants' weight-loss journeys with ever more provocative means. They vomited during workouts, gorged on junk food in temptation challenges, listened as trainers screamed in their faces. At one point, they pulled two-ton cars for half a mile. More than two decades after The Biggest Loser debuted, Netflix is releasing a three-part docuseries that examines the show, its controversies and its legacies — for better and worse. Fit for TV: The Reality Behind the Biggest Loser starts streaming Aug. 15. Past contestants, trainers, producers and medical professionals all sit down for interviews. Among the contestants is Season 8 winner Danny Cahill, who lost 239 pounds in six-and-a-half months and won the $250,000 prize. He's since gained much of the weight back. There's also Tracey Yukich, the 'villain' of Season 8 who collapsed during a run on the beach. 'My organs were literally shutting down,' she recalls. Joelle Gwynn, the target of much frustration in Season 7, remembers wondering if the show was intentionally mocking her for ratings. 'People like making fun of fat people,' she says simply. Trainer Bob Harper, longtime host Alison Sweeney and executive producer JD Roth also share their perspectives. Noticeably missing? Tougher-than-tough trainer Jillian Michaels, original host Caroline Rhea and Season 15 winner Rachel Frederickson, who weighed just 105 pounds at the finale and convinced many that the show had finally gone too far. 'We were not looking for people who were overweight and happy,' Roth says at one point. 'We were looking for people who were overweight and unhappy.' Some contestants say in the docuseries that The Biggest Loser was the best thing to ever happen to them. Some say it was the worst. Meanwhile, some viewers considered The Biggest Loser weight-loss inspiration wrapped up in a watchable format. Others said it perpetuated stereotypes while causing physical and emotional harm. Where's the line between entertainment and ridicule? As Harper says in the docuseries, 'To see us in a gym yelling, screaming — that's good TV.'
