French Beauty Powerhouse Returns to Riyadh with 36 Iconic and Innovative Brands
Renowned for its refined formulations, high performance, and pioneering innovation, the French beauty industry remains a global benchmark. In 2024, French cosmetics exports reached a record €22.5 billion, marking the second consecutive year above the €20 billion threshold. This makes cosmetics the second-largest contributor to France's trade surplus, solidifying its leadership in the global beauty arena. The 36 French brands featured at Beautyworld Saudi Arabia 2025 will present a diverse and innovative range of offerings: from premium skincare and haircare to fine perfumery, eco-conscious products, organic formulas, private-label services, and advanced packaging technologies. Each brand reflects the elegance, expertise, and sustainable commitment that define 'Made in France' in the beauty sector.
Saudi Arabia: A Strategic Growth Market for French Beauty Brands
The Saudi beauty and personal care market is experiencing robust growth, with a forecast CAGR of 1.2% between 2022 and 2027. This expansion is driven by a consumer base increasingly attentive to product innovation, quality, and sustainability.
With rising demand for clean beauty, sustainable packaging, and locally relevant formulations, Saudi consumers are setting new standards in the region. French brands are uniquely positioned to meet these expectations, offering tailored solutions that combine global expertise with local sensibilities.
In 2024, French cosmetics exports to the Middle East rose by +12.3%, including a +0.9% growth in Saudi Arabia, marking a strong rebound from -19% the previous year. This performance underscores the agility of French brands in adapting to market shifts and consumer preferences, further strengthening their position in the Kingdom.

NSG launches KSA’s first Earth Observation Marketplace

Operated by UP42 the Earth Observation platform was launched to meet the growing demand for high-resolution satellite imagery and space analytics across key sectors. Neo Space Group (NSG) has announced the launch of the Earth Observation (EO) Marketplace, the Kingdom’s first dedicated EO data marketplace, powered by UP42 – a company fully owned by Neo Space Group (NSG). The platform is designed to meet the growing demand for advanced EO and geospatial data solutions. The group stated that the EO Marketplace will bring together a growing network of EO data providers and value-added service providers offering advanced geospatial analytics and data processing capabilities. The platform is built to empower public sector agencies, Saudi companies and international users by offering a wide range of high-resolution satellite imagery and EO data products. It aims to serve as a comprehensive and simplified one-stop shop to support solution developers and service providers and is fully equipped to meet the future needs of government entities within the Kingdom. The platform is also expected to drive the expansion of EO data availability across a range of applications in key sectors, including environment, infrastructure, energy, real estate, mining, transportation, logistics, agriculture and others. This launch aligns closely with the initiatives and goals of Saudi Vision 2030. The launch follows the completion of NSG’s acquisition of UP42 GmbH from Airbus originally disclosed in December 2024. UP42 is a next-generation digital platform for EO that leverages cloud computing technology to provide leading solutions for accessing and analyzing Earth observation data. It enables seamless discovery, acquisition and management of EO data and large-scale image processing via unified formats, intuitive tools and fully automated workflows. The platform is designed to comply with the regulatory requirements of the Kingdom and is hosted on a secure and reliable infrastructure. Martijn Blanken, CEO of Neo Space Group, said: 'The launch of the EO Marketplace reflects the Kingdom’s remarkable trajectory of growth and the increasing demand for EO data. Today, more than ever, EO data plays a pivotal role in supporting Saudi Arabia’s transformational Vision 2030 — from infrastructure development and urban expansion to optimized resource management. Given the Kingdom’s vast geography — spanning over 2.15 million square kilometers, nearly the size of Western Europe — this platform will serve as both a valuable marketplace and decision-making tool across a wide range of sectors.' Frank Salzgeber, Acting Deputy Governor for the Space Sector at the Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST), commented: 'Value creation is shifting downstream in the EO supply chain — where AI technologies intersect with space data. The market is now at a perfect inflection point.” He added: “Alongside enhancing national capabilities, the platform is expected to accelerate the adoption of space technologies in the Kingdom. It reflects our national priorities: fostering technological innovation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and building secure infrastructure.' Neo Space Group (NSG) also expressed its deep appreciation for the continuous guidance and support of the Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST), which has played a vital role throughout this journey — from licensing and enabling the platform to ensuring strategic alignment.

Opinion: Germany's zeal for Israeli genocide revives its dangerous exceptionalism

Germany is open about its uninhibited support for Israel's war of extermination and genocide in Palestine, and wants to make sure the entire world sees it. Recognition for its Zionist zeal enables Germany to rehabilitate its exceptionalism, or Sonderweg, with catastrophic consequences for Palestinians and international law. Germany is not uniquely evil among liberal democracies in offering Israel unconditional support in killing starving Palestinians. Chancellor Friedrich Merz is no more morally bereft than British Prime Minister Keir Starmer or French President Emmanuel Macron. But Germany exalts Zionist radical evil to assert its uniqueness. Germany remains as hungry for national identity as it has ever been, and nothing can stand in its way - least of all Palestinians, who appear in the German consciousness only when establishment forces fail to erase their existence. Germany's pursuit of greatness has unleashed immense violence and destruction, from genocidal conquests in Africa to two world wars and the extermination of European Jews. Its defeat and division after World War Two, and integration into Nato and the EU, seemed to put the German threat to rest. Yet Germany has bounced back with a vengeance, thanks to economic prowess and global reordering. While it has championed the rule of law and democracy within the EU like no other, it has not hesitated to set them aside when they conflict with its core interests - whether to impose its economic model and austerity on all member states, pursue energy policy at the expense of European partners (Nord Stream 2), or break fiscal rules it had imposed on the rest. Saudi wealth fund sold its stakes in Meta, Shopify and PayPal in Q2

BANGALORE/DUBAI: Saudi Arabia's almost $1 trillion sovereign wealth fund sold its stakes in several U.S.-listed companies - including Meta, Shopify and PayPal - in the second quarter, according to securities filings released on Thursday. The Public Investment Fund also sold its stakes in Alibaba Group, Nu Holdings and FedEx, the 13F filings show, during a quarter in which U.S. stock markets rebounded from an April drop tied to U.S. tariff policies. The filings showed that PIF no longer held any shares in Meta, Shopify, PayPal, Alibaba, Nu Holdings and FedEx. Its previous filing showed that, at the end of March, the fund had 667,996 class A shares in Meta, 1.25 million class A shares in Shopify, 1.76 million shares in PayPal, 6.83 million shares class A shares in Nu Holdings, 1.61 million in Alibaba sponsored ADS, and 498,164 common shares in FedEx. PIF's total exposure to U.S. equities, which include call options that give the state investor a right to buy an underlying asset at a specified price within a specific time period, was valued at $23.8 billion at the end of the second quarter, versus $25.5 billion at the end of the first quarter. Tasked with spearheading Saudi Arabia's economic diversification under Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's Vision 2030 plan, PIF has moved well beyond its early holdings in Saudi public equities and infrastructure. In recent years, the fund took high-profile stakes in global brands, such as Uber and Lucid Motors, while also backing sports ventures including LIV Golf and English soccer club Newcastle United. At home, it has poured billions into giga-projects such as NEOM, the futuristic city on the Red Sea, and sectors like tourism, logistics, and clean energy.
