Chhota Udepur girl who was mistakenly failed passes with first class
Vadodara/Gandhinagar: "I passed with 62%. I want to opt for the commerce stream," said Ankisha Parmar, a resident of Chhota Udepur, who had mistakenly been failed in the Class 10 board exams of the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Education Board (GSHSEB).
"I got very tense when I was shown as absent and immediately approached the authorities. My case was taken up immediately and my correct result was announced," said Ankisha, who is 14 and lives in Akona village of Nasvadi taluka. Her father, Tirathsinh, said she wants to study further and have a corporate career.
Parmar was handed her passing certificate by GSHSEB on Wednesday evening, enabling her admission to Class XI.
She had mistakenly taken the entire exam from a different seat number, so she was marked absent when the results were announced.
A govt statement on Wednesday said that education minister Praful Pansheriya ordered an investigation, which found that Ankisha had taken her exams from Seat 71 instead of 73. The board took remedial action and announced her correct result. After reviewing her papers, it was confirmed that Ankisha had passed the exam and her correct result was handed to her by the minister.

As the delegation visited the European country, it conveyed to German political and diplomatic leadership India's unwavering united stand for zero-tolerance for terrorism, especially in the wake of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people. The delegation, led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, on Friday evening called on Minister Wadephul. "Building on his recent meeting with external affairs minister S Jaishankar, Wadephul condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam and reaffirmed Germany's strong support and solidarity with India, in the fight against terrorism," said a post on X by the Indian Embassy here. The on-ground hostilities from Indian and Pakistan sides that lasted for four days ended with an understanding of stopping the military actions following talks between the directors general of military operations of both sides on May 10.
