No claim or objection submitted by any party on draft electoral rolls: ECI
"So far, after over a week since the beginning of the Claims and Objections period, not even a single claim or objection has been submitted by any political party," ECI said.
The window to submit claims and objections to rectify any errors on the draft electoral rolls opened on August 1. However, the ECI has received 7,252 claims and objections directly from the electors for the draft roll till today, said the ECI in a daily bulletin on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in Bihar.
Forms received from new electors on attaining 18 years of age or above are 43,000. As per the rules, the claims and objections are to be disposed of by the concerned Electoral Registration Officer/Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (ERO/AERO) after the expiry of 7 days.
As per SIR orders, no name can be deleted from the draft list published on August 1, without passing a speaking order by the ERO/AERO after conducting an enquiry and after giving a fair and reasonable opportunity.

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar has sparked a political row, with the Opposition INDIA bloc alleging that the revision process could lead to the deletion of a large number of voters.
They have been protesting in the Parliament, demanding a discussion over the Bihar SIR, since the start of this year's monsoon session.

You have also stated that as per the records given by the polling officer, Smt. Shakun Rani has voted twice. You have said; "Es ID card per do baar vote lagahai, wo jo tick hai, polling booth ke officer kihai"." "On inquiry, Smt. Shakun Rani has stated that she has voted only once and not twice, as alleged by you. Preliminary enquiry conducted by this office also reveals that the tick-marked document shown by you in the presentation (copy enclosed) is not a document issued by the polling officer," it added. The Karnataka CEO requested Rahul Gandhi to provide the relevant documents that form the basis of his allegation so that a detailed investigation can be conducted by the Karnataka electoral authorities. The letter stated, "Therefore, you are kindly requested to provide the relevant documents on the basis of which you have concluded that Smt. Shakun Rani or anyone else has voted twice, so that a detailed inquiry can be undertaken by this office."

Dipankar slams EC over revision of electoral rolls
Patna: CPI(ML) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya on Sunday accused the Election Commission (EC) of "daylight robbery" of votes through its special intensive revision (SIR) of Bihar's electoral roll ahead of the state assembly elections. He urged people to defend their democratic rights, describing the situation as "an open EC versus the people of India challenge." Bhattacharya linked his party's concerns to opposition leader Rahul Gandhi's expose of alleged "vote theft" in Bengaluru during the 2024 general elections. Referring to the EC's affidavit in the Supreme Court concerning removal of 6.5 million electors from Bihar's rolls, Bhattacharya said the EC had "stubbornly rejected" the court's advice to disclose supporting documents. He criticised the EC for inconsistent data releases during the SIR, highlighting jumps in numbers of 'probably deceased' electors from 1.43 million to 2.2 million and 'permanently shifted' voters from 1.97 million to 3.6 million. Bhattacharya also pointed out the unexplained decline in electors registered at several locations, alleging manipulation in the revision process.
