We Finally Know How Much Martin Shkreli's Wu-Tang Album Cost
According to new FOIA documents, the government actually sold the album off to another company before PleaserDAO acquired it in 2021. Bloomberg sued the Justice Department for more information on the heavily redacted case, and the government has finally revealed the buyer's identity. WTC Endeavours Limited, which was set up for the express purpose of purchasing the album in 2020, was incorporated in Hong Kong. The company was dissolved some two years after the album was purchased by PleaserDAO in 2023.
Bloomberg writes that WTC Endeavors purchased the album from the U.S. government for $2,238,482.30, which was the amount that Shkreli owed the government at the time. PleaserDAO then subsequently procured the album through crypto payments equivalent to $4 million. 'The DOJ made it clear to my FOIA attorney that PleasrDAO wasn't connected in any way to the corporate entity or the individual who purchased the album,' Bloomberg writes.
Not a whole lot of information is available about WTC Endeavors, and Leopold notes that the names of the officers affiliated with the company 'don't appear to be well known.'
Shkreli, formerly the CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals, is best known for having bought and jacked up the price of Daraprim, an anti-parasitic drug that saves lives, by 5,000 percent. Shkreli subsequently became the face of the pharmaceutical industry's sociopathic price-gouging and has been notorious ever since. He went to prison for securities fraud in 2018. A thoroughly ridiculous individual, Shkreli subsequently managed to seduce a journalist while in prison, who left her husband for him. Since getting out of prison, Shkreli and the journalist have parted ways, and Shkreli is now thoroughly entrenched in the cryptocurrency community, which is probably where he belonged all along.
Once Upon a Time in Shaolin is a 31-track album that was developed by Wu-Tang over a long period and sold with the legal stipulation that it couldn't be commercially released until the year 2103. For a majority of us peons, its contents remain a mystery, although if you get invited to the right party, you have a chance at catching some of its tracks.

ABBA's Album Is So Huge, Fans Need Several Versions At The Same Time
Two versions of ABBA's Gold reenter the U.K. charts, with the original hitting four tallies and the ... More anniversary edition returning to the Official Album Downloads list. ABBA pose for a group portrait in Stockholm, April 1976. (L-R) Benny Andersson, Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Anni-Frid Lyngstad. (Photo by) ABBA's Gold is one of the most valuable albums in pop history, as it's packed with dozens of popular singles — many of which rank among the most famous and catchiest tunes of all time. The group has expertly capitalized on the success of these songs by releasing multiple compilations over the years but none have performed as consistently well as Gold. The album is so popular in the United Kingdom that there's room for more than one version of the title to appear on the charts at the same time on occasion – and this week is one such occasion. Two Versions of Gold Return to the Rankings Two different editions of Gold not only land on U.K. charts this week, but return to a tally apiece. The anniversary edition of the compilation reappears on the Official Album Downloads chart at No. 88. In the past, the anniversary edition — which is counted separately from the standard Gold — has peaked at No. 8 on the downloads list. It has now spent 237 weeks on that particular ranking. The Original Gold is Also Back The standard Gold, officially titled Gold: Greatest Hits, also manages to break back onto one chart, though not the downloads tally. Instead, it reenters the Official Albums Sales chart at No. 93. That original take previously reached the top 10, peaking at No. 5. It has already spent twice as many weeks on the downloads list as the anniversary edition has, as it recently pushed past 500 frames. Gold Appears on Four Charts This Week The first Gold compilation can currently be found on four U.K.-based rankings. As it returns to the sales tally, it climbs to No. 42 on the Official Album Downloads chart, sitting more than 40 spaces ahead of the anniversary edition of the same title. Coincidentally, Gold also lands at No. 19 on both the Official Albums and Official Albums Streaming charts.

Pink Floyd's Masterpiece Mounts A Multi-Chart Comeback
Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon reappears on four U.K. charts, proving the classic album's ... More continued commercial strength. UNITED KINGDOM - JANUARY 01: Photo of Rick WRIGHT and PINK FLOYD and Syd BARRETT and Roger WATERS; Back L-R: Syd Barrett, Nick Mason. Front L-R: Roger Waters, Rick Wright - posed, group shot (Photo by Andrew Whittuck/Redferns) Throughout the decades, Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon has sold tens of millions of copies around the world. These days, it can typically be found on rankings in many Western nations. In fact, it almost always appears on multiple tallies in both the United States and the United Kingdom. The album is so immensely successful that several versions have been released throughout the years, and fans snap them all up in large numbers. In the band's home country of the U.K., multiple editions of the blockbuster have reached several lists. A more recent version of The Dark Side of the Moon finds its way back to numerous charts at the same time while also flying onto others as it seems that interest in the rock collection may never dwindle. The Dark Side of the Moon on the U.K. Charts The Dark Side of the Moon can currently be found on four charts in the U.K., reappearing on two of them. The bestseller soars back onto both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums rankings, coming in at Nos. 94 and 99, respectively. The same Pink Floyd project also lives on the Official Album Downloads and Official Rock & Metal Albums charts. On the former — which looks at all genres and ranks the most downloaded full-lengths in the U.K. — The Dark Side of the Moon pushes north from No. 88 to No. 82. The classic is a non-mover at No. 18 on the list of the bestselling rock and metal titles in the country. Coincidentally, this take on The Dark Side of the Moon has now spent 18 weeks on that roster. Pink Floyd's Iconic Set Beats The Band's Newest Just two releases by Pink Floyd appear on the charts in the U.K. at the moment, and The Dark Side of the Moon is the only one that finds space on more than one roster. The group hit No. 1 on multiple tallies in the country earlier this year with At Pompeii - MCMLXXII, and while that live project has largely disappeared, it can still be found on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart this week. It sits at No. 26 on that style-focused ranking, down from No. 19.

Sydney Sweeney Is Facing A Backlash Over Her New American Eagle Campaign. Here's What People Are Saying
Sydney Sweeney's new collaboration with the fashion brand American Eagle has become the centre of a whole lot of debate. The Euphoria star unveiled a new campaign with the American clothing brand last week, to promote their line of denim last week. However, it didn't take long before social media clips to promote the deal sparked a wave of discomfort among many critics, largely due to some of the language that's used in the campaign. This is the story so far… What is Sydney Sweeney's new ad campaign for American Eagle all about? For American Eagle's autumn 2025 campaign, Sydney Sweeney can be seen sporting items from the brand's denim range, including a new pair of jeans inspired by her. The campaign also makes use of the slogan 'Sydney Sweeney has great jeans', a pun on the term 'great genes'. In another, she explains: 'Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair colour, personality and even eye colour.' 'My jeans are blue,' she then quips, at which point a narrator delivers the line: 'Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.' Why are some people upset about Sydney Sweeney's new ads for American Eagle? Unfortunately this repeated use of the slogan 'great jeans', a pun on 'great genes', has put some viewers in mind of the language used by white supremacists and eugenicists. By centring a blonde, white star in a campaign referencing 'genes', some critics are accusing the brand of tone-deafness at best – particularly in the current political climate – and deliberately pushing a white supremacist agenda at worst. HuffPost UK has contacted representatives for both Sydney Sweeney and American Eagle for comment. Others are pointing out that Sydney Sweeney's American Eagle campaign doesn't mention one other important aspect of the product American Eagle's new 'Sydney Jean' features a butterfly detail on its back pocket, in a nod to domestic violence awareness, a cause which the White Lotus star has championed throughout her career. In fact, an American Eagle press release confirmed that '100% of the purchase price from 'The Sydney Jean' will be donated to Crisis Text Line', a charity in the US which aims to help those affected by domestic violence. However, the ads are also being criticised for not highlighting this key part of the campaign, with some saying its accompanying slogan is even more jarring as a result. Has Sydney Sweeney or American Eagle said anything about the controversy?
