A revised heading being tested will bring new branding to the Google Messages app
The word "Google" uses the same four colors as the Google "G" logo: Blue, Red, Yellow, and Green. Android Authority was able to create the new look, including showing everyone what this new branding will look like on Galaxy phones running Samsung's One UI. Google has already made the same change on several other of its apps including Google Photos, Google Calendar, and Drive.

Google Messages is an important app for Android users since it supports Rich Communication Services (RCS). Android users employing Google Messages as their messaging app can run RCS on chats with other Google Messages users and even enjoy end-to-end encryption which is something that is not yet offered when a Google Messages user is in an RCS chat with an iPhone user. Some Android users, for some strange reason, prefer to load messaging apps that have the name of their wireless provider. It isn't clear when this new branding look will be pushed out through stable channels. All we can say at the moment is that Google has been looking to feature uniform branding on its apps. With the new look, even the greenest smartphone user could tell that the messages app he's using is Google Messages.

Are you as worried as I am that Samsung might be focusing a little too much on the Galaxy S25's Pro-branded sequel and the S25 Plus-replacing Galaxy S26 Edge model and not enough on the S25 Ultra's potentially repetitive and decidedly boring follow-up effort? No, that's not a question from some game show designed to make you feel bad for skipping one too many high school math classes. In fact, HP2 and F1.4 have nothing to do with algebra and everything to do with camera technology. And while the Isocell HP2 sensor has been used on both the Galaxy S24 Ultra and S25 Ultra, Samsung's "next big thing" purportedly aims to vastly improve its low-light photography performance with f/1.4 aperture. Samsung's in-house HP2 sensor is reportedly here to stay at least another year. | Image Credit -- Samsung Despite what a lower number might suggest, that would be an absolutely massive upgrade over the f/1.7 aperture of the S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra's primary rear-facing camera, producing "less smearing, less noise, and clearer details" in several different image capturing scenarios. This is all according to the mysterious but generally very reliable @UniverseIce over on X, who seems extremely confident about the accuracy of the newly reported inside information. Of course, nothing is really "confirmed" until, well, Samsung makes it official, but if I were a betting man, I'd probably be willing to wager a hefty sum of at least $1 on the S26 Ultra rocking a 200MP main snapper with an industry-leading aperture figure. That's right, there aren't a lot of phones around capable of allowing that much light to enter their primary cam, with something like the Honor Magic 7 Pro, for instance, featuring a 50MP sensor equipped with f/1.4-2.0 variable aperture (which is not quite the same thing), and oddly enough, the Honor 20 Pro from all the way back in 2019 offering a 48MP snapper with f/1.4 aperture. That's something that's been abundantly clear in many different fields of the mobile industry for many years now, and it's probably the main reason why you shouldn't get too excited about the Galaxy S26 Ultra ... or too disappointed with Samsung's 2026 super-flagship yet no matter what kind of chatter you keep hearing from sources like "PhoneArt." Will this bad boy be one of the best camera phones in the world when it sees daylight early next year? Almost certainly. But it's impossible to tell just how much better the S26 Ultra will be at taking photos (or anything else) compared to its predecessor based only on numbers and letters like HP2, f/1.4, or 200MP. Foldable iPad delayed past 2026, says analyst who once said "soon"
Rumor has it that Apple is currently working on not just its first foldable iPhone, but also a foldable iPad, closer to an iPad Pro. It's likely that the foldable iPhone may come out in 2026, but one analyst now doubts that the iPad will be ready in time to come out together with the iPhone. Analyst Jeff Pu from GF Securities has now shared in a research note that there may be limited innovation for the iPhone 17 and that the iPhone Fold (the book-style foldable iPhone that is rumored the most) is on track for a release in the second half of 2026, probably as a part of the iPhone 18 lineup. Meanwhile, Pu says that the second foldable device, the foldable iPad , may get postponed. He doesn't say why it may be delayed, but according to him, it won't be entering mass production by the end of 2026. Previously, Pu claimed that the foldable iPad -like device would be arriving soon, and he seems to be correcting his predictions. Back in 2024, people believed the foldable iPad may come before the foldable iPhone , probably this year, but well, it's likely not happening. In March of this year, Pu insisted that the two devices ( foldable iPhone and foldable iPad ) were entering Apple's New Product Introduction stage of manufacturing, and he claimed that mass production was scheduled for the second half of 2026. In April, Pu said that mass production for both would start in the fourth quarter of 2026, with a release expected before the end of that year. Now, his corrected prediction matches what other tipsters have said. For one, Ming-Chi Kuo said that the foldable iPad may not come before 2027. Ross Young also weighed in on the 2027 release for the foldable iPhone , while Mark Gurman expected a 2028 release. The thing is, Jeff Pu is prolific when it comes to Apple rumors, but he can be a bit aggressive when it comes to schedules. Meanwhile, the folding iPad may have an 18.8-inch display (in a folded state, around 7 or 8 inches). It may come with an A-series or M-series chip. I personally think that whenever Apple enters the foldable scene, it will be very exciting. I would prefer a clamshell foldable iPhone , though, just because of the improved portability, but I wouldn't say no to a foldable iPad or a Galaxy Z Fold-like foldable iPhone , if Apple has managed to eliminate the crease as per rumors.
