iPhone 17e Launch Is Expected In 2026: What Kind Of Upgrades Will It Get?

iPhone 17e launch is still far away but it seems Apple is already planning for the next 'E' iPhone model and some of the details are here.
iPhone 16e launch this year replaced the ageing iPhone SE lineup and gave Apple more ammunition to get people to spend more money for its new toys. The next iPhone e launch is expected after the iPhone 17 series is announced in the next few weeks. And new reports suggest the iPhone 17e will also have a similar launch timeline as its predecessor, which means it will come in early 2026.
But even though there is a lot of time for the iPhone 17e to roll out, leaks have started coming in for the new model which hints at a much similar device to the first iPhone e-series model in the market.
The leaked details about the iPhone 17e sourced from China in a new report hints at incremental hardware upgrades but most of the other aspects will be the same. The iPhone 17e display is likely to get 60Hz refresh rate once again. It will also have the same camera setup but hopefully improved sensors will be offered.
Having said that, the report claims the iPhone 17e will get a new design which could make it look more like the iPhone 16 rather than the iPhone 14 model with its single camera module.
Apple will offer the new A19 chipset with the iPhone 17e like the premium variant, which will easily give it a big power boost and comparable with the 2026 Android flagships, at least with its performance. We are hoping to see more than one camera on the iPhone 17e and maybe a battery unit that is bigger and faster to charge than the current ones that you get.
It is hardly surprising to see the iPhone 16e struggle since its launch. In fact a recent industry report said Apple is able to sell the older iPhone 15 in India but not the iPhone 16E. It said people have not been appealed by the single camera at the back and the lack of functional Apple AI features that could tempt them into splurging on the new model.
It is clear that India as a market views brand value with brands like Apple but specs are equally critical to match with their spending.

Telangana CM vows to transform Hyderabad into a global city

Agency: PTI Last Updated: Hyderabad, Aug 20 (PTI) Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday said his government was preparing a comprehensive development plan under 'TelanganaRising 2047", with the primary goal of transforming Hyderabad into a globally competitive city. Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the Integrated Sub Registrar and District Registrar Office at Gachibowli here, the Chief Minister said the plan aims to position Hyderabad city to compete with international cities like Tokyo and New York. 'Our goal is to position Hyderabad to compete with the world's top cities and not just Bengaluru and Chennai," Revanth Reddy said. He accused certain political forces of 'obstructing" Hyderabad's development. 'Those who are stalling the city's development, Musi river rejuvenation project, and Bharat Future City are our enemies. Such forces also created hurdles during the construction of Hitech City," he said and vowed to teach a befitting lesson to these forces. The CM further said the Musi rejuvenation project would restore the glory of the Old City, which he called the 'original city of Hyderabad". The CM credited the Congress government and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi for the IT revolution in the country and laying the foundation for the Hitech City in Hyderabad. The CM emphasised that the expansion and development of Hyderabad are essential to create more employment opportunities. As many as 11 new Registrar offices will be operational by June 2 (Telangana Formation Day) next year, he added. Elon Musk Quietly Pauses Plans For Launch Of His Own Political Party: Report

Elon Musk is stepping back from launching his own political party to focus on Tesla and SpaceX amid financial challenges. Elon Musk is quietly stepping back from plans to launch his own political party in the United States, the Wall Street Journal reported citing people familiar with the matter. The billionaire entrepreneur, who heads Tesla and SpaceX and owns X (formerly Twitter), reportedly told associates he wants to concentrate on his companies rather than push ahead with the 'America Party", unveiled in July after a public row with US President Donald Trump over tax and spending policy. Elon Musk appeared to dismiss the report in a post on X, writing: 'Nothing @WSJ says should ever be thought of as true." The paper reported that Elon Musk has been seeking to maintain close ties with Vice President JD Vance and has acknowledged privately that forming a new political party could jeopardise that relationship. People close to the discussions told the Journal that Elon Musk may instead consider directing financial support towards JD Vance if he decides to run for president in 2028. Last year, Elon Musk spent nearly $300 million backing Donald Trump and other Republicans, exerting outsized influence during the opening weeks of Donald Trump's presidency and the launch of the new 'efficiency department" DOGE. Elon Musk's Tesla Suffers The latest report comes as Tesla faces mounting financial and operational challenges. Shares in the electric carmaker are down more than 18% this year after it reported in July its worst quarterly sales decline in over a decade, alongside weaker-than-expected profits. Elon Musk has warned investors to expect 'a few rough quarters" following the Donald Trump administration's rollback of subsidies for electric vehicles. Some investors have also expressed concern that Elon Musk's foray into politics could distract him from his corporate responsibilities. view comments First Published: August 20, 2025, 17:42 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
