Southwest Houston: Victim dies after being shot on METRO bus; suspect on the run, police say

HOUSTON - A victim has died, and a suspect is on the run following a shooting on a Houston METRO bus, according to METRO police.
What we know
Houston Police received a shooting call at about 2:30 p.m. Officers arrived at a METRO bus on West Bellfort Avenue and Kirby Drive and found the victim.
The victim was taken to a hospital. However, Houston police said the victim has died.
According to METRO Police Chief Ben Tien, the shooting happened during an argument between the victim and the suspect. After the shooting, the suspect reportedly got off of the bus, went east on Bellfort, then turned right onto Centerpoint Drive.
Police described the suspect as a Black male who is about six feet tall and may be between his mid-20's and early 30's. He was last seen with dreadlocks and was wearing a black t-shirt with blue and white striped shorts.
What we don't know
The victim has not been identified at this time. Police say he may also have been in his mid-20's to early 30's.
It's not believed that the victim and suspect knew each other before the shooting, but that information is not confirmed at this time.

Welland motorcyclist dies in Beamsville crash
A 34-year-old Welland man died Wednesday evening after crashing his motorcycle in Beamsville. Taxi driver, 68, robbed at knifepoint in LIC: NYPD
LONG ISLAND CITY, Queens (PIX11) — A woman is accused of robbing a 68-year-old taxi driver at knifepoint after hopping into the cab in Queens last month, police said Thursday. 'We saw them CCTV and hid the kids - they came at us swinging knives'
A dad was 'threatened with a knife' at his own front door during an attempted armed burglary in Trafford. Darren Pendleton was enjoying a quiet night in with his family at their Bowdon flat when he spotted several men 'snooping around' outside at around 10.30pm on May 21. His wife was forced to wake up their children and hide them as ex-commando Darren decided to confront the robbers, who he believes were trying to burgle the flat. "I saw they were snooping on my CCTV so my wife hid the kids and then we went out and challenged them," Darren told the Manchester Evening News. "But they were armed with knives came at me and swinging them." He said he managed to slam the door shut before getting on the phone to the police, who attended quickly. It is understood no arrests have been made. It isn't the first time Darren and his family have been victims of this type of crime. The family's Rolls Royce was stolen off their driveway last year. "From my background and in my own house I have no issues, I can hold my own," Darren said. "But I think people need to know this is a problem in Bowdon and a problem in Hale. "People think 'oh it won't happen to me', but it will." A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers are investigating following reports of a robbery at an address in Altrincham, at around 10.30pm on 21 May. "It is believed that several males threatened the occupants in the communal area and car park of their building, before taking their phone.
