
Students Present Bold Ideas on Culture of Inquiry and Innovation
Students from Bahrain and the UAE came together virtually yesterday for the launch of the ISCAS 2025 Student Conference, hosted by the Applied Science University (ASU) in Bahrain in partnership with Ajman University.
The two-day event, conducted via Microsoft Teams, saw broad participation from students under the guidance of faculty members, highlighting both institutions' commitment to nurturing a culture of inquiry and innovation.
The annual academic gathering provides students with a platform to present original research, propose solutions to real-world problems, and strengthen their analytical and communication skills.
Day one of the conference featured diverse student-led presentations, ranging from AI-driven health crisis detection to sustainable infrastructure design. Topics also included digital consumer rights and behavioural trends in investment influenced by social media.
Two standout initiatives, 'Bazaarna' and 'ExploreLand,' demonstrated how academic concepts can be translated into practical solutions, connecting education to real-world entrepreneurship and exploration.

Labour Ministry Undersecretary Inaugurates Career Day Event at ASU
Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour, inaugurated the 11th Career Day event organised by the Applied Sciences University (ASU). HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman highlighted the continuation of the Ministry's efforts, in collaboration with relevant entities, to develop the training and education system in the Kingdom of Bahrain. According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman emphasised the aim to align educational and training outcomes with the labour market's needs for qualified national resources. He noted the importance of enhancing the role of career guidance and counseling to support the choices of graduates and job seekers and assist them in integrating into their professional lives. HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman highlighted the necessity for educational and training institutions to keep pace with the latest developments and trends in the labour market, as well as the emerging job patterns within it. Career Day aims to familiarise students with job opportunities in the private sector and help them choose the most suitable specialisations for the job market. University students and graduates can meet HR representatives from 51 public and private sector institutions and companies. The event also introduces the students to the Ministry of Labour's employment, training, and qualification programmes, offered in collaboration with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen). These national efforts aim to meet market demands for skilled Bahraini talent while ensuring that citizens remain the preferred choice in the job market.
