'He's in a fight with our flight attendant right now, trying to open the emergency exit,' the pilot said, according to a recording captured by LiveATC.
Delta Connection Flight 3612, operated by SkyWest Airlines, was approximately one-third into its journey from Omaha to Detroit on Thursday when the incident occurred.
Passengers and crew attempted to stop the man from opening the door of the flight.

Boy, 13, leaves home after tiff with sis, joins kanwariyas, rescued
Prayagraj: A 13-year-old boy from Kaushambi, who had fled his house on July 10 allegedly after a fight with his younger sister, was rescued by cops from Prayagraj junction on Thursday night. A student of class 8 from Manjhanpur, the boy had reached Prayagraj on the same night and joined a group of kanwariyas and went straight to Sultanganj-Babadham in Jharkhand where he participated in all religious and spiritual activities for two weeks. The boy had only Rs 100 with him when he left the house and spent Rs 50 to reach Prayagraj. SP (Kaushambi) Rajesh Kumar told TOI: The boy's mother, Renu of Kokhraj, approached the Manjhanpur police saying that her minor son left the house at midnight on July 10 over domestic issues. Following this an FIR was lodged with Manjhanpur police and two teams were deployed to search for the boy." He added that in the meantime, cops learned that the boy was spotted talking to some kanwariyas near Prayagraj junction, so they started connecting with different kanwariya groups to gather more information. Cops found that the boy had become part of the Bol Bam group and possibly left for another state with the group. The police teams then contacted Kaushambi-based kanwariyas, who rushed to Sultanganj-Babadham and made efforts to find the exact location of the boy. As the group returned to Prayagraj after offering prayers, the cops also rushed to the junction and recovered the child. The SP said: "The boy, after fleeing from home, had reached Panki ki Tanki overbridge, then Prayagraj junction and joined a Bol Bam group of kanwariyas near Prayagraj junction. He then went to Sultanganj-Babadham in Jharkhand. He didn't carry any mobile phone and kept on roaming with the group until he was rescued by cops at Prayagraj junction." Interestingly, the group took complete care of the boy, including providing kanwar dress, meals and other essentials during the visit. On return, the boy told the police that he escaped from the house after a tiff with his sister and didn't want to have more altercations with her.
