Shimla: Ninety-five people have been killed in monsoon-related incidents in Himachal Pradesh since June 30, said an official on Saturday.
Of these deaths, 21 have been reported in the state's worst-hit Mandi district.
The figure could rise as 33 persons are still missing, with 27 of them in Mandi.
Of the 95 deaths, 56 occurred in rain-related incidents and the remaining 39 in road accidents. The state govt has estimated a total loss of Rs 751.95 crore. As per the state emergency operation centre, 252 roads were still blocked kin the state till Saturday evening. These included two national highway stretches— Mandi to Dharampur via Kotli and Mandi to Kullu near Chaar Meel and Bindravani.
The highest number of 203 roads have been blocked in Mandi, including 90 in Seraj sub-division.
Also, 787 water supply schemes, including 612 in Kangra and 175 in Mandi, have been disrupted, and 327 power distribution transformers, including 166 in Hamirpur and 102 in Mandi, have been out of service.
Restoration of Roads
State public works department (PWD) minister Vikramaditya Singh said as an interim measure, state govt had decided to disburse Rs 50 lakh to each assembly constituency and Rs 2 crore to the worst-affected constituencies for the restoration of road infrastructure.

There are 68 assembly constituencies in the hill state, of which Seraj and Nachan assembly constituencies are the worst-affected in Mandi district by the June 30 cloudbursts and flash floods.
Going by this, the cash-strapped state govt would have to release at least Rs 37 crore for the restoration of road infrastructure.
The minister added the state govt request as much support as possible from the Centre. "I will soon go to New Delhi and meet the Union ministers," he added.
Deputy chief minister Mukesh Agnihotri said restoration work on drinking water schemes in Seraj assembly constituency was being carried out on a war footing. "Of the total 241 drinking water schemes damaged due to the disaster, 150 have already been partially restored. The remaining schemes are being actively worked upon," he added.

Shimla: The heavy rains during the monsoon season has affected life and property in parts of Himachal Pradesh and has claimed 106 lives between June 20 and July 15, 2025, according to the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA). Out of the total fatalities, 62 deaths have been directly attributed to rain-related calamities such as landslides, flash floods, cloudbursts, drowning, electrocution, and falls, while 44 people have died in road accidents during the same period. The SDMA's cumulative damage report indicates 62 rain-related deaths includes 15 in cloudburst incidents, 12 from falling from heights (trees/rocks), 11 due to drowning, 8 in flash floods, 5 each from electrocution and snake bites and 1 each in landslides and fire. Forty four road accident deaths were reported across all districts, with Mandi (4), Kullu (7), and Kinnaur (5) among the most affected. In addition to the loss of human lives, the report highlights extensive damage to property and infrastructure. Over 293 pucca and 91 kaccha houses fully damaged, nearly 850 hectares of agricultural land affected, public property losses valued at over Rs 81 crore, including roads, water supply, power infrastructure, health and education buildings. The SDMA and district authorities have been engaged in continuous rescue and relief operations, with emergency services, NDRF, and local administration actively responding to multiple incidents across the state. The disaster management authorities have appealed to the public to stay alert and follow safety advisories as heavy rainfall continues in various regions.
