Former Formula One driver Ralf Schumacher has called out Lewis Hamilton for his behavior toward Ferrari, highlighting that the seven-time world champion criticizes his team extensively, which "doesn't help anyone."
Hamilton has been facing a tough challenge at Ferrari since his move in January this year. His bombshell onboarding at Maranello might have been a great marketing exercise, but it likely multiplied people's expectations of him. His sprint race victory in the second round in China added to heightened expectations.
However, Hamilton still had the job of adapting to a new car and a new team, which takes time and effort. But the challenges in doing so have resulted in unfavorable sporting results, often leading to frustration on his part. While his teammate, Charles Leclerc, secured five podium finishes thus far, Hamilton has yet to finish in the top three.
Hamilton is also attempting to make changes within his team, especially to the way it has been moving forward with the development of the 2026 car. However, tense radio exchanges on Grand Prix weekends with his race engineer, Riccardo Adami, have often highlighted the dissatisfaction in his tone.

Lewis Hamilton of Great Britain and Ferrari walks in the paddock during the F1 Grand Prix of Hungary at Hungaroring on August 3, 2025 in Budapest, Hungary. The 40-year-old driver is facing challenges with his SF-25 F1 car, given the reported lack of rear stability. Among all 14 race weekends thus far, the most recent one in Hungary made headlines, as Hamilton secured P12 in qualifying after getting knocked out in Q2. The result led him to call himself "useless." He even went to the extent of saying Ferrari should change the driver.
His statements attracted criticism from many F1 personalities. Unfortunately, finishing the race in the same position the next day didn't improve his morale in any way. Schumacher, who raced for Jordan, Williams, and Toyota from 1997 to 2007, called out Hamilton for being dramatic and for criticizing Ferrari. He told BILD:
"I said before the season that this could go wrong. Currently, I see a lot of drama from him. He's been slamming the team, criticizing internally, arguing with the car—that doesn't help anyone."
Schumacher boldly stated that Hamilton is either too old to race now or cannot cope anymore, but stressed that he won't leave Ferrari mid-season in case the situation deteriorates further. Admitting that the SF-25 is more suited to Leclerc, the former driver added:
"The car suits Leclerc, not him. Maybe he's too old to adapt. Or he just can't cope.
"I think the decision for Leclerc was made long ago. But I don't think he'll quit during the season."

Florida Man Trades Ferrari F40 for Ineos Grenadier and $2.4M

The latest car news, reviews, and features. While I've never been to one, I can imagine that a salesperson at an Ineos showroom isn't the busiest salesperson in the world. As a result, the sales rep who recently took in a Ferrari F40 on trade for an Ineos Grenadier probably saw the iconic supercar approaching from a mile away. I wonder what went through their mind as the F40 got closer to the lot—did they think it was a prank? It wasn't. Florida Man was out doing Florida Man things, and on that specific day, that meant trading in one of the most coveted supercars ever built for a niche British off-roader. Oh, and a check for $2.4 million. According to Newsweek , when the salesperson approached their manager with the deal, he was told, 'You've got to get it and get out of it. So, he wrote a check for $2.4 million,' George Ratcliffe, president of the Americas at Ineos Automotive, told the outlet. The customer will allegedly use their new Grenadier on their farm, but the report did not elaborate on the F40's provenance. How did this person acquire said supercar? Was it a collector who just grew sick of the F40? Or maybe they inherited it and wanted nothing to do with its upkeep? Also, why the hurry? There's a good chance they could've made more money selling it privately or at auction, but then again, that would've been a more complex and longer ordeal. It all seems rather odd. I bet you there's a good story there, one that I hope to surface one day. Either way, the dealership reportedly turned around and sold the car the next day for $2.5 million. So, I guess everyone went home happy. Got a tip? Email us at tips@

Keegan Bradley Stands His Ground After Rory McIlroy's Ryder Cup Warning

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Ever since Keegan Bradley expressed his desire to be the playing captain of Team USA for this year's Ryder Cup, he has been the center of swirling speculation. The idea of a playing captain, something not seen since Arnold Palmer led and competed in 1963, has divided opinion across the golf world. But while most of the community got convinced by his stunning win at the Travelers Championship, some big names like Rory McIlroy still doubt the possibility. Keegan Bradley responds to Rory McIlroy's Ryder Cup comment One day before teeing off at the BMW Championship, McIlroy expressed his views on Bradley wanting to play at Bethpage as the captain. (Photo by) More Getty Images "Because I don't think you can do it (both the roles)," McIlroy told reporters during the pre-tournament conference at Caves Valley. According to the world No. 2, the commitments as a Ryder Cup captain, including the media, meetings, pairings, and speeches, it's just too much. For the same reason, he shot down the opportunity of being the future captain of Team Europe. Bradley didn't shy away from McIlroy's critique. In fact, he embraced it while speaking to reporters on Thursday. "(McIlroy) might be right. We don't know. No one knows," he said as quoted. "Everybody's telling me to start the year that a player can't be captain and have a good year. For me, I feel like this is one of my best years that I've ever had." Bradley has been balancing captaincy duties with a full playing schedule by the beginning of this year, and by most accounts, he's done both impressively. And his No. 11 world ranking speaks for itself. Still, the 39-year-old admitted the pressure is mounting. "There's definitely a lot more on my plate here these next couple of weeks," he stated after carding 72 on Thursday. "The Ryder Cup has always been so far away, and now it's right there ... I'm laying in bed thinking about golf balls the guys play, thinking about pairings. Definitely amped up." Bradley credits much of his preparedness to his vice-captains, especially Jim Furyk, who brings nine Ryder Cup appearances and prior captaincy experience. "I have the most incredible vice-captains, including Jim Furyk, who's been on these teams and been captain a bunch of times. Quite frankly, I've been leaning on them more than any other captain ever anyways, even if I'm not playing." He added: "We're ready for this if it happens. I'm not sure it's going to. I can truly sit here right now and say I don't know what's going to happen. I have to look at myself just like any other player trying to make the team. I'm 10th in points right now, and that's not 6th." Support from fellow PGA Tour players has also been vocal Rickie Fowler and Patrick Cantlay have both publicly endorsed Bradley's inclusion as a playing captain. "I would pick him too," Fowler expressed on Wednesday. "I think it would be hard to find many Americans who would argue that point." "I don't think you're going to find many Americans that are going to argue that he shouldn't be on the team." Rickie Fowler thinks Keegan Bradley should pick himself for the Ryder Cup. — Golf Digest (@GolfDigest) August 12, 2025 Cantlay echoed the sentiment, "If I was the captain, I'd pick Keegan. He's played great. If he feels he can handle the responsibilities and still play, he's definitely one of the best American players." If that was not enough, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler also praised Bradley's leadership. "He's exceeded my expectations as a captain," Scheffler stated amid the second playoff run. "He's passionate about the Ryder Cup. He cares a lot about us as players. It's been fun watching him develop in this role." With the Tour Championship and captain's picks looming, Bradley's decision will soon be final. What do you think would be his decision? Let us know in the comment section below!
