But the savvy mum decided to create a secret TikTok account so that strangers can help pay off his truck and take him to Disneyland.
Speaking on her account, Broke Mums Club, she revealed that her husband had never been on holiday, but was paying for Katlyn and the kids to go on a trip of a lifetime.
She said: "I want to give my husband a week to be a dad and not just a provider.
"As many of you know, we're going to Disney in March and he was sending me and the kids because the kids are ecstatic about Disney.
"But he doesn't think that he's able to pull off taking a week off, missing out on money coming in, and enjoying a week of just pure vacation. So we're gonna do what TikTok does best."
She asked her 123,000 followers to watch the full video and like, comment and share so that she could earn from the TikTok creator fund.
In just nine days, the mum had raised over £1620, half of what she needed to pay for her husband's Disney ticket and spending money.
Creators on TikTok can make money through TikTok's creator fund.
TikTok bosses say: "The funds that each creator can earn are worked out by a combination of factors - including the number of views and the authenticity of those views, the level of engagement on the content, as well as making sure content is in line with our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
No two creators or videos are the same, and there is no limit to the different kinds of content we will support with the fund.
I dreamed of being a doctor growing up… but now I make £5k a WEEK selling my toenail clippings and bed sheets to strangers
"The Creator Fund total varies daily and is dependent on the amount of videos published by our community that day - so this will fluctuate based on the amount of content being published."
Katlyn also revealed that the day before she began asking for funds to take her husband on holiday, her followers also helped pay off his work van.
"My goal is to pay off his pickup truck so he could come home a few extra days a month to spend time with his family," she explained.
"This is a reality for most of us stay-at-home mums because living in a one-income household isn't enough."
She was able to raise £4,500 to pay off her husband's van and finally shared her secret savings with him.
Katlyn said: "Yesterday we revealed to my husband that we made over six thousand dollars for him for his pickup truck.
"He said that that was the best birthday present that he's ever gotten and, frankly, he's still in shock."
The clip has since gone viral with over 3.7 million views on TikTok and many were quick to comment and help get the mum paid.
One person wrote: "Here to support. I feel your situation. I love seeing these kind of videos."
Another commented: "This is reality and for families to be able to afford to live and raise children."
"I hope you get the money you need," penned a third.
How many Disney locations are there around the world?
DISNEY parks are located in several countries around the world. Here's the list of countries with Disney parks: United States Disneyland Resort (Anaheim, California)
Walt Disney World Resort (Orlando, Florida) France Disneyland Paris (Marne-la-Vallée, near Paris) Japan Tokyo Disney Resort (Urayasu, near Tokyo) China Shanghai Disney Resort (Shanghai)
Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (Hong Kong)
Meanwhile a fourth said: "I hope you get to pay off the pickup truck, every kid needs their dad!!"
"Commenting so she gets to see him more,' claimed a fifth
Someone else added: "I hope you get your money because no one deserves to not have time with your husband."

For their first challenge, the celebrities had to jump from a height into the sea before swimming to a buoy in time to be picked up by a speedboat. The Challenge was brutal for all of them, and so when it came to doing the second mission in one day, Hannah didn't look in a good way. As the celebrities stood in line carrying their large backpacks, Hannah wavered, closing her eyes and sighing, having told her co-stars on the journey there that she "felt faint". The famous faces were ordered to move off, but Hannah hung back and told the SAS instructors that she was calling it quits. Pulling off her numbered black arm band, she struggled as she said: "Sorry, I'm done." The special forces officer exclaimed: "You're kidding me?!" but Hannah weakly shook her head and said: "Sorry...I've reached a point." As she was sent away, she was then seen in a piece to camera before embarking on the mission saying: "I am pretty determined. I don't think I give up easily. "But whether I'll get to the end or not? I mean...I don't think I'll go on the first day, I just wouldn't forgive myself." Sadly, that's exactly what happened, but she wasn't the only one, as Louie Spence also quit later in the show. Paul Cattermole's death changed everything… I don't know if I'll sing with S Club again, says Hannah Spearritt Hannah's exit was leaked ahead of the series starting this evening, with a source telling MailOnline Hannah "truly believed" a stint on the programme could "turn things around for her." They added: "But sadly she just couldn't hack it and walked on the first day. It was all rather embarrassing." The Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins line up also include Love Islander's Adam Collard, Tasha Ghouri and Chloe Burrows, Rebecca Loos and former footballer Troy Deeney. 5 Hannah pulled off her arm band and quit ahead of the second challenge Credit: Pete Dadds / Channel 4 5 Hannah didn't look in a good way Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins continues Monday, August 4 at 9pm on Channel 4.

Sydney split from her ex- fiance, producer Jonathan Davino, earlier this year. They had dated since 2018 and got engaged in 2022. However, she is now said to be casually dating in America. A source said: 'Her Instagram DMs are packed with messages from famous men trying to get in contact with her. 'It's mostly guys playing for teams like Manchester United, Liverpool, and Arsenal. 'They offer her trips to Europe to see them and take her on a date, but she's not the kind of person who does that. 'Some of them are very insistent and have even tried to find her address to send her flowers, but she always refuses. 'I'd say more than 100 people, from celebs to millionaires or very rich people from the Middle East and Asia, contact her every month.' Pals are now joking to the White Lotus actress that she is 'the most wanted woman in America since Madonna'. While Sydney doesn't mind polite messages, the source said she is quick to call out those who misbehave. They added: 'The ones who cross the line of respect are quickly blocked. 'Not long ago, an American actor who had recently divorced approached her to take her on a date. 'She declined and he started being very rude, so she told him to stop talking to her and to show some respect to her and all women.' In May, Sydney said of her new single life: 'I'm learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I'm loving it.' Sydney and Jonathan are said to have been 'rocky for some time' before calling it quits. 3 The source said Sydney is quick to call out those who misbehave Credit: Getty Her busy work schedule was reportedly partly to blame. Sydney is an executive producer and the leading role in her upcoming film The Housemaid. Last month, her campaign for clothing brand American Eagle was hailed as the 'end of woke'. Killjoys accused it of racism for its 'good jeans' line — saying it promoted white supremacy. Unlock even more award-winning articles as The Sun launches brand new membership programme - Sun Club.

"Now I'm enjoying spending time with women. "I can just have a deeper connection with a woman. "I like someone who knows what they want and isn't playing games.' Christine had already confirmed that, for the past three years, she has only been involved with women, reportedly including rapper, model and DJ Roxxxan, and singer Chelcee Grimes. Talking yesterday in You magazine about her sexuality, which she refuses to put a label on, she says: 'My ex-husband knew about it from when we first met and was fine with it.' Christine, who has three children with former Take Me Out host Paddy, is one of eight celebs in the show, which starts on August 11. Dating coach Paul C Brunson presides over events along with sex guru Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn. But she quit the show after just a week when she realised the process was too intense for her. The other daters are Love Islander Olivia Hawkins, Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona, The Chase brainbox Mark Labbett, S Club singer Jon Lee, comedian Donna Preston, Made in Chelsea's Sam Prince and Too Hot to Handle hunk Louis Russell.
