DANA WHITE has all but ruled out the prospect of Jon Jones headlining the UFC's White House card next year.
The former light-heavy and heavyweight champion ended his retirement after just TWO WEEKS in July after learning of the promotion's plans to stage a fight card at Donald Trump's residence.

White was initially open to having 'Bones' top the bill, but has since performed a public U-turn.
The veteran promoter claimed he couldn't "trust" Jones enough to give him the honour of headlining the historic card after he pulled the plug on fighting Brit Tom Aspinall.
And he brutally doubled down on his claim during the UFC 319 post-fight press conference on Sunday morning.
He asked a reporter: 'What do you think Jon would do in the next couple of months that would make me trust putting him on the White House card?'

Jones, 38, was set to unify the heavyweight belts against interim titleholder Aspinall in a historic showdown at Madison Square Garden in November.
But despite the UFC brass meeting his demands to be paid "f**k you money", he opted NOT to go through with the fight.
The former pound-for-pound king insisted a bout with Wigan warrior Aspinall did nothing for his legacy.
But he believes a fight at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue will add to it.
He said: "In a recent interview, I shared that the opportunity to fight at the White House gave me something deeper to fight for, a 'why' that goes beyond paychecks or belts.
If I have to make odds, it's a billion to one I put Jon Jones on the White House card."

"Fighting for my country gives me a greater purpose!
"The silver lining in all this is knowing the fans see my heart.
"They see, I am ready and willing to take on anyone, to represent my country on a historic stage.
"For me, it's never been just about the opponent. I'm chasing legacy, something timeless, something bigger than the moment.
"So for now, I'll keep grinding, stay patient, and stay faithful. I'm ready to fight on July 4th."

Arsenal urged to lower transfer demands for Fabio Vieira as they look to axe huge chunk of deadwood to fund summer spree

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) ARSENAL have been told to lower their demands for Fabio Vieira as they attempt to offload several players before the end of the transfer window. The Gunners have spent around £200million on new signings this summer, including £63.5m on Viktor Gyokeres, £51m on Martin Zubimendi and £42m on Noni Madueke. 5 Fabio Vieira is one of several Arsenal players who want to leave the club this summer Credit: Getty 5 He was signed from Porto for £30million in 2022 but has never really been a mainstay Credit: Getty 5 Mikel Arteta is aware he has to get some players out of the door before the window shuts Credit: Reuters They remain interested in more arrivals, with Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze still a target despite his links to Tottenham. However, despite having a lot of headroom regarding PSR regulations, they are tight on Uefa Financial Fair Play rules. Several fringe players will need to be sold to rectify this, and Portuguese midfielder Vieira has been lined up as one of those. The 25-year-old has fallen out of favour under boss Mikel Arteta, shipped out on loan to Porto last season – the club they bought him from in the summer of 2023 for around £30m. Vieira is back training at London Colney but was omitted from the squad that secured a 1-0 Prem opening day victory at Manchester United on Sunday. Arsenal want to recoup as much of that £30m as possible, but that is proving a tough task in this window, even after dropping their demands to around £25m. Porto president Andre Villas Boas was in touch with the North Londoners over a permanent return for Vieira earlier this summer after making 42 appearances in all competitions last term, but they are not in a financial position to give Arsenal what they want. Bundesliga side Stuttgart are also monitoring the situation. They are eyeing Vieira as a replacement for 23-year-old Frenchman Enzo Millot, who has recently joined Saudi side Al-Ahli for around £24m, which could rise to £26m with add-ons. BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK SunSport understands that the Germans would only be willing to pay around £17m including add-ons for Vieira. Arsenal are willing to hold out for the right price, but Stuttgart are prepared to move on to other targets should negotiations break down. Arsenal new-boy reveals how to pronounce name properly… and you've been saying it all wrong for years What did we learn about Arsenal in Man Utd victory? VIKTOR GYOKERES was given a reality check on his Arsenal debut as the £63.5million striker failed to have a shot against Manchester United. SunSport's Charlie Wyett assesses the Arsenal's Premier League opener... NEW SIGNINGS VIKTOR GYOKERES has room for improvement, putting it mildly. His last competitive game in this country was the 2023 Championship play-off final between Coventry and Derby and his Premier League debut will also be a day he will be keen to forget. He worked hard enough and did try and get in behind the United defence but the Swede was given little service in what was a poor performance from the title hopefuls. Gyokeres was decent in the Emirates Cup win over Athletic Bilbao which shows you exactly why we should never take too much from pre-season. Against Manchester United, the striker who is supposed to turn Arsenal into title winners, while admittedly getting very little service, failed to even have a shot. The £63.5million signing didn't contribute much to make up for his lack of threat up top either. For all he ran and tried to assert himself, Gyokores only managed to complete four passes to his new team-mates, while giving the ball away five times. Mikel Arteta is hoping the former Sporting Lisbon man can be the dominant presence that Arsenal have been missing up front. But here the 27-year-old won just three duels against United's unheralded defence, losing ten. SET-PIECES NEW season, new set-piece routine. Since the start of 2023-24, Arsenal have scored 31 Premier League goals from corners - at least 11 more than any other side. Although Arsenal's first goal of the season was thanks to Altay Bayindir's clanger, Arteta used a different type of routine. We had seen this a few times in pre-season with five players lining up on the edge of the penalty although the goal came from Riccardo Calafiori who was already lurking near the back post and was able to get the final touch. The one thing that might really hurt Arsenal offensively this season is the new clampdown on pushing and shoving in the penalty area, something they do a lot. Although both teams were guilty of grappling with opposing players, Simon Hooper let a few things go - but not all officials will be the same. NEXT UP - LEEDS ARTETA will have plenty to ponder before sending his team out to face newly-promoted Leeds at the Emirates on Saturday evening. Although battles against Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle are on the horizon in a nasty opening sequence of fixtures, Arsenal will be expected to deliver a much better performance than what we saw at Old Trafford, where they were incredibly lucky to win. This game will give Gyokeres a terrific chance to score his first goal in the Premier League. Equally, Zubimendi should keep his place although already, Gabriel Martinelli surely knows his place is under threat with Madueke itching to make an impression. Although he scored the winner, Calafiori kept going walkabout at left back leaving Gabriel Magalhaes exposed on the left of central defence. This is why Myles Lewis-Skelly, who will probably have been peed off in not starting this game, might be given a run-out against Daniel Farkes' team. 5 TRANSFER NEWS LIVE - KEEP UP WITH ALL THE LATEST FROM A BUSY SUMMER WINDOW Left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko has also been linked with a move away, recently admitting to feeling 'shame' in the 'worst season' of his professional career after being dropped by Arteta for Myles Lewis-Skelly last campaign, making just five Prem starts. Borussia Dortmund have previously been linked to the Ukrainian, while Fenerbahce and Real Betis have shown interest. Arsenal paid £32m including add-ons for Zinchenko from Manchester City in the summer of 2022, but are unlikely to get that fee back for the 28-year-old who has suffered injury issues during his Emirates stay so far. Arteta would love Zinchenko to stay on as an experienced head in the dressing room, offering depth to the left-back position, but he is currently third choice behind Lewis-Skelly and Riccardo Calafiori – the Italian starting and scoring the winner against United. Zinchenko was also left out of the squad that travelled to Old Trafford with his future up in the air, and the same can be said for Polish centre back Jakub Kiwior. 5 Arsenal believe the time could be right to cash in on Kiwior, whose stock has never been higher after impressing when stepping in for the injured Gabriel in the latter stages of last term. The 25-year-old joined Arsenal from Spezia in January in a deal worth £20m including add-ons, and there is a belief they can sell him for a similar figure with AC Milan keeping tabs on the defender. Porto have also not given up hope on luring him to Portugal, despite already reinforcing their back line with the £6.5m arrival of Jan Bednarek from Southampton. Should Kiwior leave, it is unlikely Arteta will look for a centre back replacement given that they have already signed 21-year-old Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia for an up-front fee of around £13m with £3.5m in add-ons, while Calafiori can also fill in if needed. Winger Reiss Nelson and midfielder Albert Sambi Lokongo were also missing from the squad at United and work is being done to find them a new home too, but the pair are not expected to bring in significant fees.

Ben Askren leaves fans stunned with new video of his recovery after life-or-death double lung transplant at 41

Former UFC fighter and Bellator Welterweight champion Ben Askren was seen standing up in a walker and looking in much better shape after his double-lung transplant due to severe pneumonia. Askren was seen in a video playing frisbee golf with fellow former UFC fighter Daniel Cormier in his backyard. Askren was shirtless and using a walker to keep himself up, but managed to toss his frisbee far while Cormier was seen helplessly trying to match his throw. The former fighter also filmed a video of himself sitting in a chair outside while discussing the UFC's events over the weekend. Fans of Askren celebrated his recovery so far, with many noting how much better he looks and sounds compared to a few months before. 'It's nice to see you up and moving around,' read one comment on X, formerly Twitter. Another wrote, 'I've never rooted for an athlete harder. You are an inspiration Ben'. 'You look and sound better already!,' wrote one fan on Instagram. Another comment read, 'Looks like you are getting some sun! You sound awesome, looking great, keep going forward. All the prayers!' It's been a rough summer for the 41-year-old, who said he 'flatlined' four times and lost 50 pounds due to his battle with the illness - which required an intense procedure. Askren was able to return home on July 22, but later shared with fans that he was struggling to lift a five-pound weight due to the amount of strength he had lost. He also shared a video of him using a stationary bike at home on Sunday in an encouraging update. At the end of July, Askren shared a sobering development with fans from a hospital bed. 'Well, as you guys can probably tell, I'm not home anymore, unfortunately' he began a video. 'I had my first check up this morning - they didn't like the way the last chest tube looked, thought it was infected.' 'Well, as you guys can probably tell, I'm not home anymore, unfortunately' he began a video. 'I had my first check up this morning - they didn't like the way the last chest tube looked, thought it was infected.' Askren added that he had been put on antibiotics and taken for X-rays. 'Hopefully we get this solved, fast... it wasn't always gonna be smooth, it wasn't always gonna be easy, it wasn't always gonna be all the way up,' he said. 'So hopefully this is a small hiccup and then I'm back home, getting stronger again.' Askren, who previously revealed he 'died four times' before his double lung transplant, said last week that it was 'awesome' to be back at home with his family amid his health struggles. As he spoke about the strength he had lost, Askren struggled to speak at certain points of video and had to catch his breath. The former lightweight fighter told fans he was 'feeling strong' before his recent ordeal, as he was curling 45 pounds and doing hill sprints. Last month, Askren's wife, Amy, shared that Askren had undergone the life-saving double lung transplant. 'We are forever thankful to the donor and his family,' she announced. 'This is the beginning of a new lifestyle for Ben, but every new day he has is a gift. 'It still doesn't feel real that he was walking around completely healthy just 5 weeks ago. So much can change so quickly. Askren first made a name for himself in the college ranks, as he became a two-time D1 champion with the University of Missouri. He also participated in the 2008 Olympics and put together an impressive decade-long undefeated streak, winning world titles in Bellator and ONE before making the jump to UFC in 2019. He defeated Robbie Lawler in his UFC debut but then suffered losses to Jorge Masvidal and Demian Maia before announcing his retirement from MMA. He briefly returned to fighting briefly in 2021 when he boxed against Jake Paul, losing to the social media star via TKO. Askren married his wife in 2010 and they share three children, two daughters and a son.

Aaron Pico speaks out after brutal spinning elbow loss to Lerone Murphy at UFC 319

Aaron Pico has released a statement after his UFC debut ended in defeat on Saturday, as Lerone Murphy knocked him out with a brutal spinning back elbow. UFC 319 saw Pico, 28, take his next career step after making his name in Bellator, but after showing promising signs in the early minutes, he was on the wrong end of a knockout of the year contender. In fact, Murphy's highlight-reel KO of the American was the second straight spinning back elbow knockout of the night, remarkably. In the previous fight, Carlos Prates beat Geoff Neal by the same means. Prates's strike came in the final second of the first round, dropped and badly hurt Neal, and was immediately touted as a contender for knockout of the year. Then, Murphy produced the same shot but put his opponent out cold, yet he added a hammer fist for good measure. The Briton, 34, might have established himself as the No 1 contender to featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski in the process. Meanwhile, Pico must go back to the drawing board. 'Last night wasn't my night, that's the fight game,' Pico wrote on Instagram. 'I'm grateful for my team, my family, and everyone who continues to support me. 'The supporters that have been there from day one and my new supporters, I see you! Thank you. Wins and losses both teach lessons and I'll come back sharper, stronger, and better prepared. 'Thank you all who have sent messages and checked in, my health is well. Thanks for riding with me. My story is not over.' Although Pico was making his UFC debut, he believed that a win over Murphy might have skyrocketed him up the rankings, potentially earning him a shot at Volkanovski. Now, however, attention turns to the potential of a Murphy vs Volkanovski fight, with the latter having reclaimed the featherweight belt in April. Volkanovski's decision win over Diego Lopes saw the Australian claim the vacant title, after Ilia Topuria relinquished it and moved up to lightweight, where he won a second belt. Volkanovski's previous fight was in fact a knockout loss to Topuria, as the latter won the title, which he then defended just once before giving it up. In the main event of UFC 319 on Saturday (16 August), Pico's teammate Khamzat Chimaev dominated Dricus Du Plessis to win the middleweight title, claiming a decision win.
