When Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who was involved in Zee Bharat's program 'Bharat Ki Udaan', was asked a question about the reduction in toll tax, he pointed towards a big decision and said - 'I will make such an announcement within three days at the most, no one will ask a question about toll, and everyone will be happy.'
In such a situation, it is being speculated that Nitin Gadkari is going to take a big decision regarding toll tax, in which the announcement of abolishing the toll gate completely can be made. Earlier in April 2025, Nitin Gadkari had also indicated that abolish the toll gate. At the same time, people are likely to get relief from the jam on the highway and an arbitrary recovery.
Nitin Gadkari also talked about making the automobile industry the number one industry in the world. He said- 'Automobile is the most important industry of our country. When our government came in 2014, the size of this industry was 14 lakh crores. We were at number seven then. According to a report that came four months ago, the size of our industry has become 22 lakh crores, and we have reached number three by defeating Japan. America is at number one in the world, whose an industry size is 79 lakh crores. China is at number two, whose an industry size is 48 lakh crores. India is at number three, whose an industry size is 22 lakh crores.'
The way cars from Mercedes to the most expensive cars, tractors, and two-wheelers are being made in India, and are being exported all over the world. In terms of two-wheeler exports, we are in second place in the world. This is an industry that has provided 4.5 crore jobs to the youth across the country. This is an industry that gives the highest GST to the Government of India. Our first target for this industry is to we should reach the first position in the world in the coming 5 years; this is our effort.
Logistics cost will be reduced
During the Bharat Ki Udaan program, Nitin Gadkari also talked about reducing logistics costs. He said- 'If our country has to move forward, then logistics costs will have to be reduced. Currently, our logistics cost is 16 percent. Whereas, in Europe and America it is 12 percent, while in China it is 8 percent.

Chief Justice's Bench To Hear Petition For Restoration Of J&K's Statehood
Srinagar: A Supreme Court bench of Chief Justice of India BR Gavai and Justice K Vinod Chandran will shortly hear a petition for the restoration of statehood in Jammu and Kashmir. The petition seeks the implementation of a 2023 top court order. On December 11, 2023, a Constitution bench of the Supreme Court had upheld the abrogation of Article 370, but directed the central government to restore Jammu and Kashmir's statehood "at the earliest". The Centre had told the court that "statehood will be restored to Jammu and Kashmir and that its status as a Union territory is temporary". After the central government's submission, the five-judge bench headed by then Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud had said the court would not examine whether turning a state into a Union Territory was permissible under Article 3 of the Constitution. "In view of the submission made by the Solicitor General that statehood would be restored in Jammu and Kashmir, we do not find it necessary to determine whether the reorganisation of the State of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir is permissible under Article 3," it had said. A petition now seeks restoration of statehood within two months and terms the delay a violation of India's federal structure. "The non-restoration of the status of Statehood of Jammu and Kashmir in a time-bound manner violates the idea of federalism which forms a part of the basic structure of the Constitution of India," it says. Jammu and Kashmir was stripped of its statehood and special status under Article 370 in August 2019. Since then, the Centre has repeatedly assured the people of Jammu and Kashmir that statehood will be restored "at an appropriate time". Recently, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah wrote to leaders of all political parties, including BJP and Congress, urging them to introduce a Bill in the current session of Parliament to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Mr Abdullah said that restoration of statehood was not a favour but an essential course correction. He cautioned leaders that the precedent of downgrading a state into a Union Territory would have unsettling consequences for the country and it should be a red line that is never crossed. "The restoration must not be viewed as a concession, but as an essential course correction-one that prevents us from sliding down a dangerous and slippery slope where the statehood of our constituent States is no longer regarded as a foundational and sacred constitutional right but reduced instead to a discretionary favour bestowed at the will of the Central Government," Mr Abdullah wrote.

India hits 100 GW solar PV module capacity — what it means for clean energy and industry
New Delhi: In just over a decade, India's solar manufacturing capacity has grown more than forty times — from 2.3 GW in 2014 to 100 GW in 2025. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed the achievement as 'yet another milestone towards self-reliance,' saying it reflects India's manufacturing strength and clean energy ambitions. 'This is yet another milestone towards self-reliance! It depicts the success of India's manufacturing capabilities and our efforts towards popularising clean energy,' PM Modi said in response to Union Minister Pralhad Joshi's announcement on X. The 100 GW figure represents the total capacity of solar PV modules enlisted under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) — a registry created by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy to ensure quality, transparency, and domestic capability in the sector. From 2.3 GW to 100 GW The ALMM order was issued by the MNRE on January 2, 2019. When the first ALMM list for solar PV modules was published on March 10, 2021, the enlisted capacity was 8.2 GW. In just over four years, capacity has grown more than twelvefold, with the number of enlisted manufacturers rising from 21 in 2021 to 100, operating 123 manufacturing units. Growth has come from both established companies and new entrants, many adopting high-efficiency technologies and vertically integrated operations. Policy push driving growth Government measures such as the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for High Efficiency Solar PV Modules have been key drivers of investment in manufacturing. Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi said: 'India has achieved a historic milestone — 100 GW Solar PV Module Manufacturing Capacity under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), a remarkable rise from just 2.3 GW in 2014! Driven by the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and transformative initiatives like the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for High-Efficiency Solar Modules, we are building a robust, self-reliant solar manufacturing ecosystem. This achievement strengthens our path towards Atmanirbhar Bharat and the target of 500 GW non-fossil capacity by 2030.' Industry view: More capacity than current demand While the capacity expansion is significant, it is four times India's annual solar deployment. Rishabh Jain, Senior Programme Lead, CEEW, said: 'India achieving 100GW of solar PV manufacturing capacity is a great moment towards building a diversified solar supply chain. However, this is currently four times India's annual deployment of solar power. To ensure the continuous growth of the sector, Indian manufacturers should actively supply to new markets and reduce their dependency on the US. Simultaneously, Indian manufacturers should double down on R&D to competitively manufacture next-generation materials and components in India.' Significance for clean energy goals The milestone strengthens India's ability to meet its 500 GW non-fossil fuel capacity target by 2030 and enhances its role in the global solar supply chain. What lies ahead MNRE has said it will continue to back the solar manufacturing ecosystem with policy support, infrastructure development, and innovation to keep India's solar industry competitive in both domestic and international markets.>
