Major update on ex-Rangers man Abdallah Sima's future
Sima was a roaring success at Ibrox, scoring 16 goals and assisting three across 39 appearances.

A permanent deal never came to fruition, and Sima joined French outfit Stade Brestois on loan at the beginning of last season.
He netted 12 times for the Ligue 1 side, with three of his strikes coming in the Champions League against Sturm Graz and Salzburg.
There was no option to buy included in Sima's loan in France, and he is a Brighton player once again this summer.
Questions have been raised over his future, although the club announced today that the frontman has agreed on a contract extension to extend his stay at the AMEX. When his deal is now due to expire remains unclear.
Sima has never actually made a competitive appearance for Brighton.
After his loan at Rangers came to an end, he penned an emotional message on social media, saying: "The time has come for me to say goodbye to a club for which I have a lot of affection, for which I took immense pleasure in playing for this club.
"It is very difficult to find the words but I would like to thank all the club staff, the staff, my teammates and especially you, the supporters, who have always been there for me and for the club. It's you who makes this club so special!
"Thank you also to Michael Beale for giving me the chance to play for this great club, and thank you to Philippe Clement for allowing me to realise my dream of winning a title with this magnificent club.
"Come on Rangers!"

Djed Spence signs new contract at Tottenham
Spence made 35 appearances in the 2024-25 campaign, after eventually being handed his full debut in December – two-and-a-half-years after he first joined the club. After Spence was deemed a 'club signing' by former Tottenham boss Antonio Conte in 2022, the former Nottingham Forest defender had mixed loans at Rennes, Leeds and Genoa. Spence might have left Spurs last summer, but instead forced his way into the plans of then-boss Ange Postecoglou and played his part in their Europa League triumph. Postecoglou's replacement Thomas Frank has quickly placed his trust in Spence and started him in Wednesday's Super Cup loss to Paris St Germain. The latest stage of the 25-year-old's resurgence is to earn improved terms to ensure his long-term future remains at Tottenham. Speaking in Udine before his new contract had been finalised, Spence was quizzed on the prospect of Spurs being active during the final fortnight of the summer transfer window. Injuries to James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski have left Tottenham short on attacking midfield options, which is why the club has this week opened talks with Manchester City and Crystal Palace respectively over the potential signings of Savinho and Eberechi Eze, PA understands. Our 2025/26 Premier League campaign kicks off on Saturday. 👉 @Castrol — Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) August 14, 2025 'I'm not sure who has been linked or who is going to come in, but I think yeah whoever comes in will definitely add strength to the squad and will be a good thing for us,' Spence admitted. 'Yeah, (Champions League), it's a great competition, it's the big stage and everyone wants to show what they can do on the biggest stage, so yeah, looking forward to it.' Before Spurs return to Europe's elite competition next month, morale must be lifted after their midweek shoot-out loss. Spence urged Tottenham to bounce back in their Premier League opener with Burnley on Saturday, which will be Frank's first fixture at home. He added: 'I think we've got to keep our heads up first and foremost. Then starting Saturday, we play at home, get a win and take it from there. 'I think the main thing (asked by Frank) is be solid at the back and our target is to keep as many clean sheets as possible. You do that and you win trophies, you win titles.'

Truth behind Benjamin Sesko's transfer to Man Utd and why Arsenal move collapsed
Manchester United unveiled Benjamin Sesko last weekend as Ruben Amorim's squad was improved by another forward ahead of the Premier League season and the side's first match against Arsenal The lengths Manchester United went to sign Benjamin Sesko have been revealed by the star's agent. Elvis Basanovic claims the Red Devils followed his every step to engage in talks across six different cities as they beat Newcastle United to his signature. United signed Sesko in a deal worth up to £74million from RB Leipzig to add to Ruben Amorim's squad in a summer that has seen Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha also arrive at Old Trafford. Club chiefs were able to persuade Sesko that United was the correct club to join, despite Premier League rivals having a bid accepted first and being able to offer Champions League football. Arsenal were an early contender for Sesko's signature too, with the Slovenia international among their priorities. Such was the fee required, the Gunners decided to move on to land Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP instead. But it was United's persistent efforts that ultimately proved successful in getting a move over the line. And a longstanding relationship between the parties paid off. "We were in contact with Man United's negotiations director, Matt Hargreaves, who was a ruthless negotiator," Basanovic told the 24UR programme on Slovenian station POP! TV. "In the last 10-15 days, they followed my every step, and the talks took place in three different countries and six different cities." Sesko had been of interest to United for as long as seven years and the forward's agent had kept the club well aware of his plans. While Sesko opted against moving to Manchester as a teenager, a transfer to the Premier League was always on the agenda. Basanovic added: 'We visited their academy when he was just 15. Even then, we were planning this move for the future. At the time, we didn't want him to go [when he was] so young. "In recent years, we stayed in contact but we told them our plan - two years in the Bundesliga, to prepare for the future in the Premier League. We're delighted the plan worked." Basanovic also gave his interpretation of why a move to Arsenal did not happen. "It's hard to say exactly," he said. "Whenever a deal doesn't go through, there are always several factors. In the end, everything has to align for it to happen. "What's important here is that Benjamin's wish, for years now, has always been United. And for United, he was even willing to take a pay cut to make the move happen. As his agent, I wanted to make that wish come true."
