Yahoo28-05-2025

Collektr has formed an exclusive partnership with Card Mania 2025 that will see the platform providing the official livestream bidding for Pokémon-inspired art by renowned Pokémon artists, among others, during the event.
This year's edition of Card Mania, scheduled May 30 to June 1 at the MPAJ Convention Centre in Taman Melawati, Kuala Lumpur, will feature top-tier publishers, streamers, artists, and retailers from across the region. Collektr will live-stream the bidding of original artworks by three Pokémon artists - Kouki Saitou, Yuka Morii, and Kagemaru Himeno.
Each day during the event, at 4pm (Malaysian time), all three renowned illustrators will each create a never-before-seen piece of Pokémon-inspired art live in front of fans. These exclusive artworks will be auctioned immediately after creation, and for the first time ever, collectors across Asia and beyond will be able to witness the creative process and bid live in real-time.
'This collaboration is a major milestone for the collectibles world,' said Adlin Yusman, Collektr founder and chief executive officer.
'Collecting is more than acquiring, it's about passion, connection, and culture. With Card Mania, we're bringing fans closer than ever to the creators behind the art they love, while giving them a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a piece of that creative history.
Adliln said Collektr will also launch four exclusive collectible cards featuring Selangor FC footballer, Faisal Halim and the Sekys (Muhammad Haqqullah Ahmad Shahrul Zaman) from the Selangor Red Giants eSports team.
"All four cards will be up for bidding on the Collektr Marketplace Auction throughout the three-day event, from May 30 (12am) to June 1 (4pm). It's the perfect convergence of pop culture, sports, and collectibles, all unfolding live,' Adlin added.

Three doughnut shops in Florida rank among best in the US. Why fans love them

Florida is home to some of the best places for doughnuts — including a 'cult favorite' that piles on the toppings, a new report finds. The three Florida doughnut shops now rank among the nation's top places to eat the sweet treats. Here's where they landed on the list from the review website Yelp: DG Doughnuts in Ocoee at No. 16Donut King in Minneola at No. 34Hole in One Donut in Tampa at No. 41 To determine the top 50 U.S. doughnut shops, Yelp said it studied ratings, reviews and photos that customers posted on its website over time. The feedback came from Elite users, who are active on the platform. The rankings were published in mid-May, before the beloved treat will be recognized on National Doughnut Day. While this year's celebration falls on June 6, fans have raved about the Florida doughnut shops throughout the seasons. Why fans love the Florida doughnut shops Of the Florida shops that received recognition for sweets, DG Doughnuts ranked the highest at No. 16. The Yelp page for the business in Ocoee, west of downtown Orlando, said it offers desserts decorated by hand in small batches. 'DG Doughnuts is a pop-up turned cult favorite, known for its bold flavors and creative flair,' Yelp wrote in its report. 'Their doughnuts are fluffy, generously topped, and often infused with local ingredients and seasonal surprises.' The bakery's online menu includes 'classic doughnuts' covered in sprinkles, cinnamon sugar and other staples. Then there are the 'fancy doughnuts,' including toffee coffee and banana cream pie flavors. On Yelp, customers raved about the range of choices at the shop, helping it earn 4.7 out of 5 stars. Also in the Orlando area, Donut King landed at No. 34 on the list. The maple bacon and Boston cream doughnuts are among the most popular on the business' Yelp page. 'Donut King is a Central Florida favorite where the donuts are big, bold, and bursting with flavor,' the review website wrote in its report. 'From classic glazed to outrageous cereal-topped creations, there's something for every craving.' While Donut King has three locations, the Minneola shop was the one that received national recognition. People took to Yelp to praise the freshness of the doughnuts, and others loved the savory menu items. The business on its website said it sells fan-favorite burgers along with New Orleans-inspired dishes, such as gumbo. Rounding out the list of top-notch places in the Sunshine State was Hole in One Donut in Tampa. On Yelp, fans said they loved the customer service and welcoming atmosphere at the No. 41-ranked spot. 'Hole in One Donut is the kind of old-school shop where the donuts are made fresh daily and served with a smile,' the website wrote in its report. 'Their apple fritters are legendary — crispy on the outside, soft and spiced within.' Across the country, Yelp said the No. 1 place to eat doughnuts was Novel Ice Cream in Phoenix.

Why This Baby Name Has Shot Up More Than 100% in Popularity This Week

It's a girl! The hottest news in the preschool set is the arrival of Peppa Pig's little sibling. Speculation has brewed for months about whether Peppa would be getting a little sister or another brother. On May 30, the newest member of the Pig family made their debut — a sister! Not only that, but Peppa's sister's name was also announced: Evie, a name that means "life." She was named after Mummy Pig's aunt. Now, it's no secret that Peppa is a trend-setter. She's made preschoolers speak in faux English accents and say things like "sun cream" instead of sunscreen. She's beefed with celebrities like Adele and earned high marks for her album on taste-making music websites. But will the newest addition to the Pig family boost the baby name Evie? Evidence shows, she already has. The baby-naming website Nameberry keeps track of interest in names among its users. The site reports there's a 102% increase in interest in this week. The name is hot, and getting hotter! (Even Pokémon has declared 2025 the "Year of Eevee," but of course the Pokémon is spelled differently.) Then again, the Pig family may be jumping on a trend rather than starting it. The Social Security Administration keeps track of baby-name popularity in the United States going back to the year 1900, maintaining a list of the 1,000 most popular names each year. The name Evie actually dropped off the list in 1942, and stayed absent from it for decades — but not forever. In 2007, it re-entered the list as the 807th most popular name, and it's been steadily getting more popular ever since. Last year, it reached No. 284. The name Evelyn, which could use Evie as a nickname, is even more successful. Unlike Evie, Evelyn has been hanging around the SSA list since the 1900s. And while it was an extremely popular name at the turn of the century, it only managed to crack into the top 10 once in the 20th century, in 1915, when it was No. 10. But since the '90s, it's been steadily climbing, and Evelyn actually had its best-ever year last year, reaching the No. 8 spot on the SSA list for the first time. It's safe to say the name has already eclipsed Peppa itself, since Peppa doesn't appear at all on the SSA top 1,000. (Neither do similar variants, like Pippa, or names that could use Peppa as a nickname, like Philippa.) George, now the middle child, is also in the middle of Evie and Evelyn in terms of name popularity: His name is No. 124 on the SSA list. It'll be interesting to see how these shift as the Pig family, now a family of five, finds its new footing.
