Symbols of her life, including a packet of jellies, a teddy bear, makeup and her Ariana Grande perfume, were brought forward, while songs from Disney's Tangled movie and pop singer Dean Lewis filled the church.
In an emotional tribute read at the beginning of the mass on behalf of Freya's mum Shannen, she asked her daughter to help keep her "strong".
Shannen said: "I named her Freya after the goddess of love and beauty, and by God did she honour that name. She instantly filled my and my family's life with so much love.
"Her funny, happy and caring personality only grew stronger as each year passed. She was not only my daughter, but my best friend and my rock. She shone a light even on the darkest of days.

"I was so proud of how much love she brought to everyone, no matter where she was. And I'll never forget the way that Freya would light up a room just by entering it.
"The brightness she brought would never fade. I loved her strong will, which allowed her to express how she felt. She was the best big sister to Grayson."
She continued: "You'd always hear Freya before you'd see her. Always singing and dancing to Tupac and Eminem.
"She had a laugh that was so contagious and you couldn't help but laugh with her and this was shown through her love for all of the children in this village.
Anyone would have been so lucky to have known Freya and I will be forever grateful to God for my best friend."
Sean, Freya's best friend
"Last Friday, our world came crashing down when our angel was taken from us so suddenly. Though we will never make sense of a tragedy like this, we can honour Freya by carrying her spirit with us through our memories and our love for one another."
Shannen thanked the
And she issued a special thanks to the community who have rallied around them in their grief.
Her tribute read: "You all took the pressure off of us at this unfavourable time and we will be forever grateful. This gave us great comfort and it also reflected the love the community had for Freya.
"Freya, your wings were ready. Now I need you to keep me strong as I have always done for you."
'I'M GOING TO MISS YOU SO MUCH'
Freya's brave pal Sean also addressed the funeral congregation as he paid tribute to his best friend.
The young man said: "I have no idea why she was taken from us, but God must have made a decision and he couldn't have chosen anyone.
"Freya could make me laugh at any time, and I mean belly laugh at most random things because that's just the kind of person that she was.
"Anyone would have been so lucky to have known Freya and I will be forever grateful to God for my best friend.
"I have so many great memories with Freya, actually way too many to count.
"We were both always told by everyone that she would never see one of us without the other, and they were not wrong. She was like my other half.
"All of our hearts are broken."
Sean added: "Nothing will ever replace that friendship. You don't know how much I miss you already, Freya.
"I want to say thanks to Freya's mum Shannen, and Freya's nanny and grandad and her family for always welcoming me and being so kind.
"I'm going to miss you so much, Freya. Goodbye, and I'll never forget you. From your dear friend, Sean."
'THIS IS NOBODY'S FAULT'
Parish priest Fr Michael Toomey addressed the church congregation asking them not to blame themselves for the tragedy, telling how the "what if" question is just a natural part of the grieving process.
Fr Toomey said: "It's natural to experience regret and feelings of what if after a friend's death, especially if you feel you could have done something differently.
"These feelings often stem from guilt and a desire to change the past.
"So it's important for you to acknowledge that you did the best you could with the really challenging circumstances that you had to deal with at the time."
He added: "This is nobody's fault. It is just what it is, a tragic accident.
"But there is a natural human desire to undo or change negative events, particularly when it involves the death of a loved one.
"But lads, this is impossible And dwelling on it can be detrimental to your own healing."
"It's okay to feel regret and guilt, but it's also important to recognise that you did the best you could at the time.
"Try to balance those regrets with positive aspects of your friendship. at the time you had regret."
'BRIGHT LIGHT HAS GONE OUT'
Freya was laid to rest in the new cemetery in Mollough following the 12pm mass.
She had reposed at her home in Newcastle on Tuesday evening before a private house this morning and her family requested any donations, if desired to be made to River Rescue.
Tributes have poured in from across the country from both friends, family, neighbours and even complete strangers.
One Tipperary mother wrote: "Shannen I'm devastated for you and your family, I know the bond between mother and daughter especially your first born.
"Freya was loved by you more than words can describe, god gave her the best mammy to take care of her and you gave her a life full of love.
"She will be with you every step of the way, may she give you the strength to get through this, you'll always be in my thoughts."
And a Waterford mum said: "A bright light has gone out in Tipperary and indeed the whole of Ireland with the loss of this beautiful young girl.
"That light is now shining in heaven. The tragic passing of Freya is devastating for all who knew and loved her."

Freakier Friday review: Mean girls Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan run riot, but body-swap sequel lacks magic

Take 2003, for example, when a body-swap family comedy called Freaky Friday did the rounds and this reviewer was seemingly oblivious. It starred Jamie Lee Curtis and pre-meltdown Lindsay Lohan. It took $160m at the box office, and was part of a franchise based on Mary Rodgers's 1972 novel that numbered a raft of variously received films, musicals and TV specials. Bolstered by the advent of Disney+, the 2003 film has discovered a new audience, and since we're in the age where any movie can be exhumed to have a few more dollars shaken out of it, a sequel was put in motion, reuniting the original star duo. (Lohan is said to have got the call in the autumn of 2022 while filming the notorious Irish Wish on these shores.) Nisha Ganatra's film – written by Jordan Weiss – assumes a level of familiarity with events 22 years ago. We're given a multi-generational family that is light on menfolk. When not working as a manager to a popstar, Anna (Lohan) battles with 15-year-old daughter Harper (Julia Butters) as mothers and their daughters tend to. Looking on and ever-ready with a self-help mantra is psychologist grandmother Tess (Curtis), who is trying to break into the podcast therapy game. Harper's life of sun-kissed surfing before high-school classes has one sizeable fly in the ointment. Anna has embarked on a relationship with a handsome restaurateur from UK-land, Eric (Manny Jacinto). This would be fine except that Eric's daughter is the insufferable Lily (Sophia Hammons), an aspiring fashion designer who longs for London and is Harper's arch-nemesis in the school corridor. Some unnameable hocus-pocus is inserted into the story Worse still, Anna and Eric soon become an item and wedding bells loom on the horizon. The only thing the two teenagers can agree on is that this simply won't do. While the adults in the room hope and believe that the bickering will stop in time, the two brats aren't having any of it. Now comes Freakier Friday's narrative hinge, the shazam moment that gives the whole thing its plot device. Some unnameable hocus-pocus is inserted into the story at this point to enact the body-swapping spell, thereby throwing up all kinds of muddles, mishaps and realisations. Bargain-price mystic Madame Jen (good work by Vanessa Bayer) ambushes the ladies at a party and quickly drags Anna and Tess, and then Harper and Lily, into a palm-reading session. A supernatural force invades the tabletop, placing a curse on the four women. (If you think that's lame, it was a magical fortune cookie in Mark Waters's 2003 instalment). When they wake up, everything is wrongways. Tess is Lily and vice versa. Anna and Harper have also traded bodies. Who is who takes a while to bed in with the viewer. Everyone keeps their accents, so we only have behaviour to go by. Are the characters well established enough in the opening act that they beam unmistakably through a different actor? Is said actor able to channel them? Freaky Friday had a simpler task, you quickly appreciate – a straight swap between Anna and Tess, so that each character experienced life in the other's shoes. This time, things are indeed freakier, and the four-way jumble we're asked to get on board with is initially a tough ask. What just about manages to rescue things is the indomitable Curtis, for whom nothing seems too far a task. So as Lily and Harper (now Curtis and Lohan, remember) get over the horror of being stuck in 'decaying' bodies, they decide to use the newfound guises to sabotage the upcoming nuptials. Makeovers occur inevitably, as do frightening realisations about the ageing process, with Curtis mugging and blundering superbly. Anna and Tess, meanwhile, milk their newfound youthfulness, horsing down junk food and getting into trouble at school. All this is perfectly fine tomfoolery that harks back to a different, more innocent era in Hollywood family entertainment (think Tom Hanks in Big, or another Lohan outing, The Parent Trap). Things are funniest when squirts of lemon juice cut through the sugary glitter and the mean girls are let run riot (a school-yard food fight in the opening act is a prime example). Is there enough to ensure a place in the memory 22 years hence? Not this one, anyway. 3 stars

Freakier Friday review: Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan return as body-switching mother and daughter

Freakier Friday      Director : Nisha Ganatra Cert : PG Genre : Comedy Starring : Jamie Lee Curtis, Lindsay Lohan, Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Mark Harmon Running Time : 1 hr 51 mins The year is 2003. The first series of The X Factor is still in development; Love, Actually is bringing festive cheer and a romantic stalker to a cinema near you; and women everywhere are wearing slouch boots, slogan tees and Rachel Stevens hair layers. We are at the tail end of an era when Hollywood profited from making teen movies, notably Freaky Friday, a wildly successful body-swap comedy starring Jamie Lee Curtis and the young screen sensation Lindsay Lohan . Two decades later we have the latest in a parade of long-gestating sequels, a variable collection that includes Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, Independence Day: Resurgence, and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. The good news is that Freakier Friday is better than such recent Disney IP revivals as Hocus Pocus 2 , even if the film is a little cluttered. READ MORE Curtis and Lohan reprise their roles, but their characters have moved on from slammed doors. Curtis's Tess is now a hands-on grandmother to the teenage Harper (Julia Butters), the only daughter of Lohan's music-biz manager, Anna. A playground altercation between Harper and Lily (Sophia Hammons), a snooty new arrival from England, lands their parents in the principal's office, where a spark ignites between Anna and Lily's father, Eric (Manny Jacinto). This chance encounter blossoms into a whirlwind romance, culminating in an engagement that neither daughter greets with enthusiasm. Cue the body-swapping: in this latest reimagining the magical mix-up expands to a four-way generational tangle, with the teenagers inhabiting the bodies of Anna and Tess and the adults hoovering up fast food. The results are messy but charming. Jordan Weiss's screenplay is not short of zingers. 'I put my heart and soul into those songs,' Anna's pop-star charge whines. 'No, a 44-year-old Dutch music producer did,' comes the pithy retort. This old-school confection, smartly reuniting the original cast, delights in every silly scene. In cinemas from Friday, August 8th

Chris Hemsworth recalls 'out of body experience' performing alongside Ed Sheeran

Australian movie star Chris Hemsworth has recalled having an "out of body experience" while performing alongside Ed Sheeran during one of his shows. The Thor actor, 41, learned how to play the drums as part of the National Geographic series, Limitless: Live Better Now, and joined the Shape Of You singer on stage to play at a concert filled with 70,000 people in Bucharest, Romania. Speaking at a Q&A, he said: "(It was) very much a kind of out of body experience and and there's something about being in unison and in time with, not just a band, but a mass group of people. "And I imagine it was sort of like a universal prayer or whatever, where people got together, and this sort of intention to point towards something positive in the same direction that there would be some interconnected experience. "And that's what it felt like. I felt like it was kind of beyond me at that point. I was just floating along for the ride." Hemsworth also reflected on the first series of the show and said: "The first season almost killed me, emotionally and physically. That was by design." He continued: "We discussed, what, if we're going to do a second season, what would we tackle? What new science is there? What we could expand upon." The first episode of the series, titled Brain Power, follows Hemsworth as he takes on the challenge of learning to play the drums, which culminates in the surprise live performance with Sheeran. Hemsworth also climbs a frozen 600-foot wall to see if there is a benefit to breaking out of his comfort zone and and embraces special forces pain training in South Korea. The movie star and his family attended the series London premiere on 17 July. The National Geographic show will be coming to Disney+ on Friday 15 August.
