Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sànchez's Venice wedding: venue, guest list, outfits, and protest; everything you need to know
Jeff Bezos-Lauren Sanchez Wedding: Two years after Amazon founder Jeff Bezos got engaged to Emmy-winning journalist Lauren Sánchez in Europe, the couple is now all set to tie the knot at a lavish wedding ceremony in Italy's Venice. Although the high-profile couple has not officially shared the details of the wedding, the celebrations will begin in Venice on June 24, the Associated Press reported.
Those closest to the couple believe this wedding will be far from ordinary. 'I think it's gonna be like a Princess Di thing,' Sánchez's older brother, Paul Sánchez, told TMZ in March 2025. 'It's gonna be an amazing event. It's gonna be star-studded and fun.'
From potential venues to the star-studded Hollywood guest list, top-tier planners, and even where the bride is finding the dress, here is everything we know so far about the highly anticipated Bezos-Sánchez wedding.
Putting to rest earlier rumours of a lavish $600 million winter wedding in Aspen, Colorado, Bezos and Sànchez will tie the knot in Venice. According to PEOPLE, the news was addressed by Venice Mayor Luigi Brugnaro, who confirmed the couple's nuptials will take place in the historic city.
'The many speculations and fake news circulating about Jeff Bezos' wedding are completely unfounded,' Brugnaro said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. He also added that the celebration would be intimate and well-managed. 'Only 200 guests will be invited, and the event won't disrupt the city,' he shared.
The mayor further informed that the city is closely coordinating with event organisers to ensure zero disruption to residents and their daily livelihoods. 'We are mutually working and supporting the organisers to ensure that the event will be absolutely respectful of the fragility and uniqueness of the city,' the statement read.
According to a June 2025 report by the Associated Press, the couple is making a conscious effort to support local businesses, sourcing approximately 80 per cent of their wedding supplies from Venetian vendors. Among those contributing is Rosa Salva, the city's oldest pastry shop, which is crafting goody bags for guests. Laguna B, a renowned design studio known for its handblown Murano glass, is also involved in the festivities.
While Bezos and Sánchez have not officially disclosed the exact location, several possibilities have been reported. According to some reports, the wedding may take place aboard Bezos' $500 million superyacht, Koru. San Giorgio Maggiore is another potential wedding spot. The island is known for its historic church and cultural centre. Another venue reportedly is the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, a centuries-old waterfront building with rich Venetian history.
As for their upcoming wedding, the guest list promises to be just as glamorous as the couple's engagement guests. As reported by PEOPLE, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner have been invited, along with Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner. Sánchez's longtime friends Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian are also rumoured to be attending. Additionally, two of her fellow Blue Origin spaceflight passengers, Katy Perry and Gayle King, may be part of the celebrations.
The report also shared that the couple will stay at the luxurious Aman Venice, a historic hotel on the Grand Canal where George and Amal Clooney got married in 2014. The guests will reportedly stay at four more of the city's top hotels, including the St. Regis Venice, the Gritti Palace, Hotel Danieli, and the Belmond Hotel Cipriani.
Guests have been encouraged to make charitable donations rather than bringing gifts. As a return gift, the guests will receive curated goody bags featuring Murano glass pieces from design studio Laguna B and artisanal pastries from the local bakery Rosa Salva.
Fashion icon Anna Wintour has reportedly designed Sánchez's wedding dress. However, Sánchez and Bezos were spotted attending a fitting at a Dolce & Gabbana boutique in Milan in March this year, creating a buzz around the bride-to-be's wedding looks.
Luxury hotels across Venice, along with many of the city's water taxis, have been fully booked ahead of the high-profile wedding. According to Italian media reports, the influx of celebrity guests and preparations for the grand wedding could result in parts of the city being temporarily shut down.
Residents are also concerned about 'mass tourism' or 'overtourism'. Locals argue that the increasing volume of visitors has driven residents out and caused lasting damage to the city's fragile historical sites. Critics have also slammed the city officials for prioritising the 'ultra-wealthy' over the needs of locals.

Actor Damson Idris shared how starring in 'F1' made him drive differently in real life, reported People. "I'm not going to lie, it actually made me drive a lot safer," he said at the New York City premiere of F1, adding, "I have so much respect for F1 drivers and the speeds that they reach and the amount of pressure that they're under while they reach those speeds. " "So yeah, now when I'm in the car, I'm definitely just cruising and minding my business," added Idris, who drove up to 180 mph while shooting scenes for the movie. In the film, Idris plays Joshua Pierce, the rookie teammate of Brad Pitt 's character Sonny Hayes, a former Formula 1 driver who comes back to the sport after decades away, as per the outlet. According to the film's official synopsis, Idris' character is "intent on setting his own pace." While preparing for the role, Idris "watched every single race". He and Pitt bonded well despite the acrimony between their characters. "It was a seamless dynamic between us. As soon as they'd yell 'Cut!', we both sat in our seats and giggled," Idris said in May, reported People. While talking about Pitt, he shared, "He'd be telling me stories of when he first met Prince and Sidney Poitier . And I'm like, 'Oh my God, this is just too iconic; you're a walking monument.' " "I always say [Brad is] the most humble person and such a brilliant actor, and he wants you to win," Idris added. "And he did that for me the entire movie -- made a point of having the two characters be equals -- so I'm incredibly indebted to him, and I can't wait for people to see it," according to People. F1 director Joseph Kosinski said at the premiere that Idris -- who has also starred in the FX series Snowfall -- "has it all," and he is excited to see where he goes from this movie, reported People. 'F1' is in theatres nationwide Friday, June 27.

The Billionaire And The TV Anchor: Bezos, Sanchez's Whirlwind Romance
Their whirlwind romance began under a cloud of scandal, but now Lauren Sanchez, a former morning TV anchor with a love of flying, is set to wed Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, the world's fourth-richest person, in a Venice extravaganza. Both were married to other people when they began secretly dating sometime before 2019. In January of that year, Bezos and his first wife, the publicity-shy MacKenzie Scott, announced their divorce, stating their intention to continue "our shared lives as friends." Bezos met Scott in 1992 while they were both working at a New York hedge fund. They quit their jobs to co-found Amazon in a rented garage in Bellevue, Washington. A month after the split, Bezos publicly accused the US tabloid the National Enquirer of blackmail in an offer to prevent the publication of salacious photos and text messages with Sanchez. He suggested the effort was orchestrated by Saudi Arabia, whose leaders were reportedly upset with how The Washington Post -- which Bezos owns -- covered the murder of its reporter Jamal Khashoggi. However, Sanchez later revealed that her brother sold the phone content to the Enquirer for a reported $200,000. 'Is It Hot?' With his new romance flourishing, Bezos stepped down as CEO of Amazon in 2021. Bezos, 61, stated his primary reason for pulling back was to dedicate more time and energy to Blue Origin, his space exploration company, and charity work. He remains Amazon's executive chairman, the retail giant's biggest shareholder, and still holds considerable influence over the company's direction. Bezos and Sanchez are fixtures at Oscar parties and other celebrity haunts. Sanchez often uses Instagram to communicate, sometimes expressing her love for Bezos or her children. In 2023, they announced their engagement. Bezos has notably changed his look during his relationship with the exuberantly dressed Sanchez, trading in the wardrobe of a scrawny tech executive for that of a style-conscious playboy with a more muscular physique. "Is it just me, or is it hot outside?" Sanchez wrote in the caption of a 2023 Instagram post showing a shirtless Bezos in swimming trunks climbing the ladder of his $500 million mega yacht. 'Changed My life' Before her relationship with Bezos, Sanchez, 55, was not a nationally known figure. A third-generation Mexican American originally from New Mexico, Sanchez has dyslexia and has made awareness of the learning disability one of her missions. She has shared that she assumed she was "stupid" until a community college professor informed her she had the condition and was perfectly smart. "It changed my life," helping her win a scholarship to the University of Southern California, Sanchez told the Wall Street Journal. She dropped out of USC to begin her TV career at a local station in Phoenix, Arizona, before working on Fox Sports and Extra, a TV tabloid-style news show in Los Angeles, which would become her home for decades. In 1999, she narrowly missed national fame when she was turned down for a spot on "The View," the talk show hosted by TV news legend Barbara Walters. Sanchez instead became a familiar face to Angelenos as a co-host of a local morning news show from 2011 to 2017. During most of those years, she was married to Hollywood super-agent Patrick Whitesell, with whom she has two children, Evan and Ella. She also has a first son, Nikko, from a relationship with former NFL star Tony Gonzalez. Bezos has four children with his ex-wife: a son, Preston, born in 2000, as well as two sons and one adopted daughter whose ages and names are not public. Women Can Fly Sanchez has a deep passion for flying. After leaving morning television, she founded a company specializing in aerial filming and served as a consultant on Christopher Nolan's film Dunkirk. "This space is dominated by men," she told The Hollywood Reporter in 2017. "But there's nothing physical about flying a helicopter... There's no reason more women aren't in this." Her passion for the skies also led her to space in April as part of an all-female flight on Blue Origin, though the 11-minute trip has been criticized as wasteful. Among the crew were pop singer Katy Perry, who was also a guest at Sanchez's bachelorette party in Paris last month. The A-list guest list for the party also included Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, and Eva Longoria.
