AC/DC fans slam the band for lacklustre performances as ageing rock band prepares to tour Australia: 'Time to retire'

Daily Mail10 hours ago

Fans of AC/ DC have turned on their heroes after footage from their current global tour dropped on TikTok.
In the clip, which appears to have been filmed at a recent gig in Pasadena, USA, guitarist Angus Young, 70, can be seen trying to rouse the crowd with a chant of 'Oi, Oi, Oi' during the band's hit 'High Voltage'.
Once known for his ever youthful look, the blond-haired veteran rocker, dressed in white shirt, and velvet 'school shirts' was hardly recognisable as the vigorous performer he is known as.
And this had fans asking whether Angus and his band were now past their prime.
'Time to retire' posted more than one user on the thread, which has attracted 1294 comments.
From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop.
Also seen in the clip, is AC/DC lead singer Brian Johnson, 77, who also appeared 'slow' compared to the fury of the on stage performances of the past.
'Surely this is going to be their last tour??' added one fan, while another enthusiast did not hold back: 'Damn I'm an AC/DC fan but this sucks a**.'
Another fan was equally harsh messaging, 'They are done for...Making money off this?? Unbelievable.. and I'm a BIG AC DC FAN … Geezus boys!!!'
Still, the post has attracted 90.3K love heart 'likes' as well as comments from fans prepared to back the famed Australian band as they continue their Pump Up World Tour.
'I have seen AC/DC six times since 1977. I would go again!' wrote one supporter on the thread, while another simply gushed: 'Awesome.'
A third fan commented on the status of the US leg of the tour.
'[They are] selling out stadiums. I don't think they are embarrassing themselves. The crowds having a great time. They aren't stopping.'
It comes after the Australian rockers announced they were headed Down Under in November for the first time in a decade.
The iconic band, formed in 1973, are set to play a string of massive stadium shows in November and December.
And while many fans are thrilled over the upcoming gigs, some posted to social media on Monday to rage over the sky high concert ticket prices.
Posting to Facebook, one user shared that 'Ultimate' A-Reserve seating for AC/DC's gigs in Australia start at a whopping $407.70, while general admission standing tickets cost $305.75.
Other prices listed include $203.80 for A-Reserve seating and $132.45 for B-Reserve seats.
'That's a lot of money to hear B-DOW BAMP B-DAMP,' joked one fan on the thread.
Added another social media user, 'For a band like this should offer prices for kids aged under 18.
'Or offer family packages. Great way to inspire young-lings to go with their parents to be educated in what a band is.'
Fronted by Brian Johnson and guitar icon Angus Young, AC/DC will hit major cities including Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane.
AC/DC will kick off their Australian leg at Melbourne's MCG on November 12, before heading to Sydney's Accor Stadium on November 21.
From there, the legendary rockers will take the stage at the BP Adelaide 500 Grand Finale on November 30, before travelling to Perth's Optus Stadium for a show on December 4.
They'll wrap up the Aussie tour in style with a final stadium gig at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium on December 14.

Stunning baseball fan reacts to her newfound fame after remarkable cameo went viral

The stunning LSU baseball fan has broken her silence on her newfound fame after being captured during the College World Series broadcast on Sunday. Alicia Huggins posted a message to her Instagram story on Tuesday, her first comments since she was spotted in the crowd in Omaha cheering on the Tigers. Cameras cut to her celebrating in the crowd when LSU went 5-1 up against Coastal Carolina on Sunday on their way to a series-clinching triumph. 'GEAUXXX TIGERS,' Huggins wrote, with the Bayou spelling of 'Go', which is a popular chant for LSU fans, alongside two purple and yellow heart emojis each. The former-mystery blonde went viral on social media as fans took notice of her cheering her team but she has now seemingly been unmasked by the popular social media account 'Old Row Official', who say the fan's name is Alicia Huggins. 'In retrospect, Coastal never stood a chance @Alicia_huggs,' the account wrote on Instagram, tagging her in multiple pictures from her day out at the game. When the clip itself was posted on social media from Sunday's game, there were multiple comments about Huggins. 'I thought I was the only one who saw her,' said one post from an admirer. Another read: 'Only part of the game I remember'. 'Only thing I saw in this video,' said another. The moment Huggins was caught on camera was a particularly decisive time as LSU knocked previously unbeaten Coastal ace Jacob Morrison out of the game with a four-run fourth inning. The Tigers won their second national title in three years Sunday with a 5-3 victory in the College World Series finals. The Tigers (53-15) completed a two-game sweep of the Chanticleers (56-13), who entered the finals on a 26-game win streak. The 2023 LSU team that also won that title was led by Paul Skenes and Dylan Crews, the top two picks in the MLB amateur draft that year. Skenes is now one of the most feared pitchers in Major League Baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates and off the field, is famous for dating Olivia Dunne. Overall, Sunday's triumph was LSU's 8th baseball title in its history.

Brad Pitt dishes on 'gay experience' in most candid interview ever amid Ines de Ramon romance

Brad Pitt has opened up about his sexuality in his most candid interview ever. The Oscar winner, 61, who is currently dating Ines de Ramon, 32, said he had 'missed the window' when it came to 'gay experience' as he jokingly shut down pal Dax Shepard during an interview on Monday's episode of Armchair Expert. Pitt, who reflected on meeting Shepard at an AA meeting, revealed he and his brother were called 'gay' and subjected to vile homophobic abuse when they were kids. Shepard said: 'Given the way you and I met, does it make you nervous' with Pitt whimsically responding: 'Sexually, you mean?' He then said: 'You know, I've never had a gay experience. I kind of missed that window. But if I did, it wouldn't be you. Shepard responded: 'Oh man, you had me. I was like, "Wow, he's going to say it.' Pitt replied:'[You'd be] maybe 14th, or 15th. 'I don't want to brag, but you're going to need to build up to me,' Shepard said. 'I do recommend you start with some starters.' Elsewhere during the chat the F1 star admitted that he 'needed rebooting' following the disastrous end of his second marriage. 'I was really open to I was trying anything and everyone anything anyone threw at me,' he recalled, after finding himself 'pretty much on [his] knees' with the revelation that he needed to 'wake the f**k up in some areas.' He continued: 'It was a difficult time. I needed rebooting.' The comment could be viewed as a very cryptic reference to his ex Jennifer Aniston, who once famously used a computer chip as an analogy to discuss Pitt's temperament. Aniston - who was married to Pitt from 2000 to 2005- once said that he had a 'sensitivity chip missing' when trying to describe how he handled their breakup. While attending AA, Pitt said he felt nervous about speaking and was inspired by 'everyone [being] so open' about their experiences. 'It gives you permission to go, "OK, I'm gonna step out on this edge and see what happens,"' he explained. 'And then I really grew to love it.' Pitt went on to praise Shepard, who was sober for 16 years before relapsing in 2020, for always being 'so f**king honest.' The father-of-six, noted that it 'meant a lot' to him to hear Shepard share his journey publicly. 'Dax was usually near the end because he's been there awhile,' Pitt said, before playfully comparing Shepard, 50, to 'an elder statesman' that fuses 'humor' into his wisdom. 'I just thought it was incredible, men sharing their experiences with their foibles, their missteps, their wants, their aches and a lot of humor with it,' Pitt said. As someone born in Oklahoma and raised in Missouri, the actor explained he was raised around men that always insisted 'everything is great' and didn't complain. Previously Pitt revealed that his decision to join AA came after taking 'things as far as' before revoking his 'drinking privileges.' During an interview with the New York Times in 2019, he said he found 'great value' in Alcoholics Anonymous. 'It was this safe space where there was little judgment, and therefore little judgment of yourself,' he said, at the time. 'It was actually really freeing just to expose the ugly sides of yourself.' The Hollywood hunk also admitted that alcohol was not the only vice with which he'd struggled in the past. Pitt also revealed he'd turned to marijuana in the wake of his meteoric Hollywood success, conceding that 'in the '90s, all that attention really threw me.' 'I really became a bit of a hermit and just bonged myself into oblivion.' In 2020, Pitt also credited Bradley Cooper with helping him to overcome his battles with addiction. While accepting Best Supporting Actor from his pal at the National Board Of Review gala, the performer revealed Cooper helped him 'get sober' and 'every day has been happier ever since.' Pitt decided to pursue sobriety after his split from Jolie. Brad and Angelina's ugly divorce battle finally ended in December 2024 after she filed in 2016. The dispute has seen the exes attack each other in legal filings ever since Brad sued Angelina in 2022 for selling her stake in their Chateau Miraval estate, which produces an award-winning sparkling rosé. The exes, who share six children — Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, Knox, 16, and Vivienne, also 16 , married in 2014 after meeting on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005). He is currently dating jewelry executive Ines de Ramon, who resides with him in Los Angeles.

Nepo-baby past of 'socialist' Zohran Mamdani as his Hinge romance and Hollywood ties are revealed

An outspoken democratic socialist who has emerged as the frontrunner in New York City 's mayoral race has a surprising past - hailing from a family filled with famed filmmakers and university professors. Zohran Mamdani, 33, is in a close contest with former New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo to secure the Democratic primary nomination in NYC. Born in Uganda before moving to the US when he was seven, Mamdani is the son of filmmaker Mira Nair and Columbia University Professor Mahmood Mamdani. Nair is most famous for her 1991 romantic flick ' Mississippi Masala', staring Denzel Washington while Mahmood teaches colonial studies at the liberal school in the city. The progressive wing of the Democrat has coalesced around the socialist, who would be New York's first Muslim mayor if elected. He has gained momentum by running a campaign focused on the city's high cost of living. His campaign has pushed populist ideas like free public buses, rent freezes for rent-stabilized apartments, and grocery stores that would be owned by the city. Relatively unknown when the contest began, he has secured endorsements from progressives including Senator Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Outside of politics, the likes of Emily Ratajkowski and Saturday Night Live's Bowen Yang have thrown their weight behind Mamdani. On Tuesday morning as polls opened around the city, Ratajkowski shared a video of herself endorsing Mamdani, while wearing a 'Hot Girls for Zohran' t-shirt. Flanked by the man himself, she said: 'This election is gonna be decided by young voters. The average New Yorker is 38 years old. 'The last mayoral race was decided by 7,000 voters. That means that your vote really matters. Go ahead, get out there, we know it's hot, but the time is now.' His sharp campaign has made full use of social media, with videos of him interviewing Trump voters going viral. An army of young hipster canvassers have relentlessly knocked on doors throughout the city seeking support, while his grinning mug has been plastered across the city. Appearing on a podcast earlier this month, Mamdani also revealed that he and his wife, artist Rama Duwaji, had met on dating app Hinge. The State assemblyman said: 'I found my wife on Hinge. So (dating apps) still work. Just to let people know. It's not all roses. In a city torn over Israel's campaign against Hamas following the October 7 attacks, he has been called to show support Israel's right to exist. His pro-Palestinian stance has sparked outrage amongst the Jewish communities, which make up a large portion of the city. On Monday night he appeared alongside fellow candidate Brad Lander on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert', and was questioned over his stance. He and Lander - New York's comptroller - have endorsed each other in hopes of 'sending Cuomo back to the suburbs,' Mamdani told Colbert. Colbert pushed him on his refusal to condemn calls to 'globalize the intifada ', adding: 'they are afraid that your mayorship would actually lead to increased antisemitism.' The question teed up Mamdani to denounce antisemitism while not addressing his past statements, which have included calls to 'globalize the intifada' that some say is a call to violence against Jews. When asked during a podcast interview last week if the phrase made him uncomfortable, Mamdani merely said it captured 'a desperate desire for equality and equal rights in standing up for Palestinian human rights.' During the interview, Colbert, 61, asked Mamdani and Lander about Israel and whether they believe it 'has the right to exist.' 'Yes, like all nations. I believe it has a right to exist, and a responsibility also to uphold international law,' Mamdani said. Mamdani has previously said he hopes Palestinians gain political agency peacefully and that his criticism of the Israeli government is not equivalent to antisemitism. After the podcast appearance, Jewish leaders including Rep. Daniel Goldman and the Anti-Defamation League criticized Mamdani for his remarks. The Holocaust Museum in Washington DC even weighed in, calling his comments both 'outrageous and especially offensive'. As he has surged in the polls and popularity, clips of him calling for the New York Police Department to be removed from high crime areas in the city have resurfaced. In one video, he says: 'I think we need to ask ourselves, look at how the policing is done in the suburbs. 'When people make mistakes, the answer is not to throw them in jail. The answer is to find a non-carceral solution. 'For many people, especially Black people, they are not offered the same opportunity.' Cuomo, who resigned from his position as governor in disgrace over sexual harassment allegations, has cast Mamdani as being unqualified for the role. He believes Mamdani doesn't have the management chops to wrangle the city's sprawling bureaucracy or handle crises. In response, Mamdani has slammed Cuomo over the scandal that forced him to resign and his mishandling of the pandemic. Cuomo stood down in 2021 after a report by the state attorney general concluded he had sexually harassed at least 11 women. He has always maintained that he didn't intentionally harass the women, saying he had simply fallen behind what was considered appropriate workplace conduct. Preliminary returns will be released after the polls close at 9 p.m. Tuesday, a winner might not emerge for a week because of the city's ranked choice voting system. The system allows voters to list up to five candidates in order of preference. If a candidate is the first choice of a majority of voters, they win outright. If no candidate reaches that threshold, the tabulation of the rankings wouldn´t begin until July 1. The primary winner will go on to face incumbent Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat who decided to run as an independent amid a public uproar over his indictment on corruption charges and the subsequent abandonment of the case by Trump's Justice Department.
