AC/DC fans slam the band for lacklustre performances as ageing rock band prepares to tour Australia: 'Time to retire'
Fans of AC/ DC have turned on their heroes after footage from their current global tour dropped on TikTok. In the clip, which appears to have been filmed at a recent gig in Pasadena, USA, guitarist Angus Young, 70, can be seen trying to rouse the crowd with a chant of 'Oi, Oi, Oi' during the band's hit 'High Voltage'. Once known for his ever youthful look, the blond-haired veteran rocker, dressed in white shirt, and velvet 'school shirts' was hardly recognisable as the vigorous performer he is known as. And this had fans asking whether Angus and his band were now past their prime. 'Time to retire' posted more than one user on the thread, which has attracted 1294 comments. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Also seen in the clip, is AC/DC lead singer Brian Johnson, 77, who also appeared 'slow' compared to the fury of the on stage performances of the past. 'Surely this is going to be their last tour??' added one fan, while another enthusiast did not hold back: 'Damn I'm an AC/DC fan but this sucks a**.' Another fan was equally harsh messaging, 'They are done money off this?? Unbelievable.. and I'm a BIG AC DC FAN … Geezus boys!!!' Still, the post has attracted 90.3K love heart 'likes' as well as comments from fans prepared to back the famed Australian band as they continue their Pump Up World Tour. 'I have seen AC/DC six times since 1977. I would go again!' wrote one supporter on the thread, while another simply gushed: 'Awesome.' A third fan commented on the status of the US leg of the tour. '[They are] selling out stadiums. I don't think they are embarrassing themselves. The crowds having a great time. They aren't stopping.' It comes after the Australian rockers announced they were headed Down Under in November for the first time in a decade. The iconic band, formed in 1973, are set to play a string of massive stadium shows in November and December. And while many fans are thrilled over the upcoming gigs, some posted to social media on Monday to rage over the sky high concert ticket prices. Posting to Facebook, one user shared that 'Ultimate' A-Reserve seating for AC/DC's gigs in Australia start at a whopping $407.70, while general admission standing tickets cost $305.75. Other prices listed include $203.80 for A-Reserve seating and $132.45 for B-Reserve seats. 'That's a lot of money to hear B-DOW BAMP B-DAMP,' joked one fan on the thread. Added another social media user, 'For a band like this should offer prices for kids aged under 18. 'Or offer family packages. Great way to inspire young-lings to go with their parents to be educated in what a band is.' Fronted by Brian Johnson and guitar icon Angus Young, AC/DC will hit major cities including Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane. AC/DC will kick off their Australian leg at Melbourne's MCG on November 12, before heading to Sydney's Accor Stadium on November 21. From there, the legendary rockers will take the stage at the BP Adelaide 500 Grand Finale on November 30, before travelling to Perth's Optus Stadium for a show on December 4. They'll wrap up the Aussie tour in style with a final stadium gig at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium on December 14.

Ducab launches region's first HV fiber optic cable
Ducab Group has announced the launch of its latest innovation, the High Voltage (HV) Fiber Optic cable, at the Middle East Energy 2025 exhibition in Dubai. As the first of its kind in the GCC, this pioneering product will deliver smarter, greener, and more resilient power solutions to support growing global energy demand and diversification. The launch also marks a strategic step in Ducab's global expansion, particularly in highly regulated markets like the European Union (EU), where its advanced design and compliance with international sustainability standards provide a competitive edge. The HV Fiber Optic Cable brings a new level of intelligence to power networks by combining high-voltage transmission with advanced fiber optic technology. It continuously monitors temperature, strain, and performance, allowing for early detection of potential issues before they lead to power disruptions. This makes power grids more stable and efficient, helping to meet the energy needs of fast-growing regions like the GCC while minimizing downtime. The cable emphasises Ducab's position as a trusted partner to governments and industries, supporting various sectors including renewables, mining, and industrial operations, and is vital to mission-critical industries such as oil & gas, offshore operations, and defense with tailored solutions. In addition to its advanced features, the HV Fiber Optic Cable is built with sustainability and efficiency in mind. Manufactured using 98% recycled materials and produced through eco-friendly processes that minimize waste and reduce carbon impact, the cable aligns with the increasing global focus on green energy solutions. Its compliance with strict European environmental standards makes it an attractive option for EU utility providers and infrastructure projects, where demand for sustainable and energy-efficient solutions continues to grow. The launch of this cable at Middle East Energy is part of Ducab's broader commitment to sustainability and supports clean energy initiatives, in line with the UAE's Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative and the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050. Charles Mellagui, CEO of Ducab Cable Business (DCB), said: "The introduction of our High Voltage Fiber Optic cable is a game-changer for the power transmission industry in the GCC and globally. By integrating high-voltage performance with real-time monitoring, we are enabling utility operators to manage power networks with greater efficiency, safety, and precision." "This product addresses today's challenges while setting the stage for the future of energy infrastructure, reinforcing Ducab's commitment to leading the global power transmission industry. This is about powering essential global infrastructure now and well into the future," he added. -TradeArabia News Service Copyright 2024 Al Hilal Publishing and Marketing Group Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc.
