Maha: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut criticises CM Fadnavis

Mumbai, June 15 (UNI) Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday lashed out at Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, accusing him of having started preparations to win upcoming municipal elections with corrupt means just as he won the state assembly elections by cheating. Comparing Fadnavis to a 'madari' (street performers who used to perform tricks with trained animals like monkeys or bears), the Sena-UBT leader alleged that he has power, money, builder lobby with him and hence, he can commit corruption and can make everyone dance. But Thackeray brand is the brand of Mumbai and Maharashtra, and no one be it (Narendra) Modi-(Amit) Shah or even Fadnavis, can finish this brand, he said and asserted that Thackeray brand is invincible. "No matter how Modi, Shah and Fadnavis have brought and raised money from a big builder lobby, they cannot compete with this brand," he said. If one leaves politics aside, then people still have immense respect for party founder Bal Thackeray and his family because the Thackeray family has sacrificed and fought for Maharashtra and the Marathi people, he argued. "The assembly elections were won by cheating. Similar preparations are underway for the municipal elections, but people are wise," added Raut. UNI SP SS

Trump administration mulls expanding travel ban to 36 more countries

US President Donald Trump's administration is considering significantly expanding its travel ban by potentially banning citizens of 36 additional countries from entering the United States, according to an internal State Department cable seen by Reuters. read more The administration of US President Donald Trump is weighing a sweeping expansion of its travel ban with a potential prohibition on entry for citizens of 36 additional countries, according to an internal State Department cable reviewed by Reuters. Earlier this month, Trump signed a proclamation barring citizens from 12 countries from entering the United States, citing national security and terrorism-related threats. The move was part of a broader immigration crackdown launched in the early months of his second term, which has included the deportation to El Salvador of hundreds of Venezuelans suspected of being gang members, as well as efforts to deny enrollment of some foreign students from US universities and deport others. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD The administration's latest proposal, revealed in a cable signed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, identifies 36 nations deemed 'countries of concern' that could face full or partial entry suspensions if they fail to meet US requirements within 60 days. The Washington Post was the first to report on the cable. Among the concerns cited were governments' failure to issue reliable identity documents, lack of cooperation in accepting deported nationals, visa overstays and past involvement of some citizens in terrorist or anti-American activities. The cable noted that not every concern applied to each of the countries listed. Some countries, the cable said, were not cooperative in facilitating the removal of its nationals from the United States who were ordered to be removed. Some countries were overstaying the U.S. visas their citizens were being granted. Other reasons for concern were the nationals of the country were involved in acts of terrorism in the United States, or antisemitic and anti-American activity. The cable noted that not all of these concerns pertained to every country listed. The countries that could face a full or a partial ban if they do not address these concerns within the next 60 days are: Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cote D'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Dominica, Ethiopia, Egypt, Gabon, The Gambia, Ghana, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, South Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Tonga, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD That would be a significant expansion of the ban that came into effect earlier this month. The countries affected were Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Congo Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. The entry of people from seven other countries – Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela – has also been partially restricted. During his first in office, Trump announced a ban on travelers from seven Muslim-majority nations, a policy that went through several iterations before it was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2018. Anti-Trump protests ace US President's birthday parade

People gather in front of the federal courthouse on Las Vegas Boulevard South during a "No Kings" protest rally Saturday, June 14, 2025 in downtown Las Vegas. (AP) TOI correspondent from Washington: Thousands of Americans rallied at energetic anti-Trump protests in hundreds of US cities and towns on Saturday in vivid contrast to a mostly insipid military parade in the nation's capital to celebrate the President's 79th birthday that coincided with the 250th anniversary of the US army. Some 250 MAGA elites sang happy birthday to the President after a laborious parade interspersed with commentaries about the US army's heroics across 250 years. In a brief speech at the event, Trump, excoriated by critics as a draft dodger, talked up US military prowess and warned adversaries that 'If you threaten the American people, our soldiers are coming for you. Your defeat will be certain, your demise will be final, and your downfall will be total and complete. ' 'Because our soldiers never give up, never surrender, and never, ever quit. They fight, fight, fight—and they win, win, win,' Trump said without any hint of irony to gloss over the US withdrawals from Vietnam and Afghanistan in humiliating circumstances. Emblematic of the dysfunction in the second term of the President -- whose guests sat glumly through the low-energy fete -- was a World War II era Sherman tank that trundled painfully past him, the squeaking bogey wheels clearly heard above silence from scattered spectators on largely empty risers -- a "perfect metaphor for Trump and MAGA's hollow pageantry" in the words of one commentator. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Memperdagangkan CFD Emas dengan salah satu spread terendah? At hundreds of such rallies across the country, activists and agitated voters chanted slogans lambasting Trump and his policies, carrying placards and posters that read "Electile Dysfunction" "Turd Reich" and "No Faux-King Way," among other witticisms. "If Melania doesn't want to live with him, why do we have to?" one poster asked, and another snarkily noted, "They are eating the checks, they are eating the balances" Recent polls show a significant dip in Trump's approval ratings. A Quinnipiac University Poll conducted June 4–6 showed his approval rating at 38% and disapproval at 54%. A CBS/YouGov Poll conducted at the same time put it at 45% - 55%. Trump supporters who accuse the pollsters of a liberal bias point to other polls -- which liberals say hav a conservative sampling tilt -- showing the President having a 50+ approval rating. Where is Asim Munir? Scores of Pakistani expat supporters of incarcerated PTI leader Imran Khan, many driving and flying in from across America, gathered in front of the Pakistan Embassy in Washington to protest the purported visit of the country's army chief Asim Munir to US -- except he was nowhere to be seen. The White House and Trump administration officials maintained that no foreign dignitaries, including Munir, had been invited to the Trump-Army Parade, but PTI supporters insisted he was in the US, with one activist stalking the embassy yelling at him to come out. "Where is Pakistan Embassy hiding Asim Munir ?... Pakistani-Americans are protesting ag. General Asim Munir's visit: the perpetrator behind constitutional violations, stolen public mandate, and grave human rights abuses in Pakistan!" a PTI flyer said. PTI activists also deployed digital vans in the US capital displaying videos and posters of Munir, calling him the "Butcher of Islamabad." Enhancing suspicion that Munir is indeed in US but did not attend the Trump-Army parade in Washington was pro-Munir billboards that surfaced in New York City's Times Square.
