Are Rachel and Siya Kolisi back together? Viral airport video fuels romance rumours

Mzansi netizens eager for a reunion speculate whether Siya and Rachel Kolisi are back together after Siya was spotted walking next to a woman at the airport. Image: Supplied South African Springboks captain Siya Kolisi has sent social media into a frenzy after a video of him walking alongside a woman resembling his ex-wife, Rachel Kolisi, went viral. The clip was shared by a fan, @meagsypoo, who spotted Kolisi while travelling economy with the team at O.R. Tambo International Airport on Sunday. 'Yes, the game was good, but did you share a flight with the bokke the next day?' read the title of the TikTok, which quickly garnered close to half a million views. The video showcased the Springboks, who had just celebrated a victory over Ireland at Loftus Versfeld the previous evening. The fan, who admitted to feeling too shy to ask for a photo with the rugby stars, described her experience as 'stalking them like a weirdo instead'. Despite her reluctance to approach the players, her TikTok post captures a moment of excitement for rugby fans. As the video circulated, eager netizens began speculating whether Kolisi had rekindled his relationship with Rachel. Video Player is loading. Another user, @ilovejubah, quipped, 'Siya on the hunt for Rachel 2.0,' while @kamo_kula confidently stated, 'That was definitely Rachel!!!!!' However, some observers noted that the woman in the video might be Kate Woods, the director of Adidas South Africa, rather than Rachel. The resemblance sparked a flurry of online chatter about the Springboks captain's personal life. Siya and Rachel announced their divorce in October 2024, citing mutual respect and love as the foundation for their decision. They expressed their commitment to co-parenting their children and continuing their work together on the Kolisi Foundation, despite ending their marriage. The news left many South Africans heartbroken, as the couple had been beloved figures in the rugby community. Despite the speculation surrounding this recent airport sighting, it seems Kolisi remains focused on his role as both a father and team captain.

Tyson Fury steals the show at IBA's Istanbul showcase amid retirement doubts

Tyson Fury stole the spotlight at the IBA's Istanbul showcase, teasing a comeback and confirming plans for a 2026 trilogy fight with Oleksandr Usyk — all while the cameras of Netflix rolled for his next documentary chapter. Photo: AFP Image: AFP Judging by the reception and attention he received at the IBA's high-end show in Istanbul this week, the boxing world still has a healthy appetite for former world champion Tyson Fury. There, along the picturesque Bosphorus Strait, the global sporting icon arrived with his entourage at the Rixos Tersane Hotel ahead of the extravagant two-day event, which aimed to 'usher in boxing's Golden Era' and unveil the International Boxing Association's bold new vision for the sport. Festivities included a press conference, fashion show, and a thrilling seven-fight IBA Pro 7 Champions' Night card. Fury was part of a star-studded contingent of current and former elite Sweet Science figures — including Derek Chisora, Terence Crawford, Rolando Romero, Conor Benn, Zinnat Ferdous, Jarrell Miller, Roy Jones Jr and Shannon Briggs — alongside other champions of their crafts such as global fashion icon Naomi Campbell. Advertisement Next Stay Close ✕ It was a feast of content for journalists from around the world, who were granted unprecedented access to these high-profile personalities, as IBA President Umar Kremlev sought to reshape the image and narrative surrounding the organisation following its 2024 expulsion from the International Olympic Committee over governance, financial transparency, and integrity concerns. Yet it was Fury who stole the spotlight, content creators swarming around the 2.06-metre giant and former heavyweight king from the moment he set foot on the Rixos red carpet. 'Hello, Netflix! How are ya?' bellowed Fury in his distinctive Mancunian rasp. The global streaming platform is currently trailing Fury for the second season of the hit reality series At Home With The Furys, as well as a new documentary about his life. 'Looking very much forward to the IBA event, I can't wait — I'll have to make sure I've got no shirt on,' he quipped in response to a weather forecast as he stepped out of a luxurious black V-Class Mercedes-Benz. Throughout the event, Fury faced a barrage of questions regarding his supposed retirement, with many suspecting the 'Gypsy King' has not closed the curtain on his storied career. At the official IBA press conference, Fury was first addressed by Sky Sports journalist and commentator Andy Clarke, who asked: 'Could you be tempted out of retirement, maybe, to clinch an IBA Pro belt? That's one you haven't got!' 'Listen,' replied Fury. 'I have not got an IBA Pro belt, and I have just one thing to say to that remark … 'SHOW ME THE MONEY!'' he shouted with a grin, to much amusement from the crowd. Fury retired earlier this year following a professional boxing career spanning from December 2008 to February 2025 — roughly 16 years in which he claimed multiple world heavyweight titles, including the WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO and WBC belts. 'I'm available. I am young, free, single and ready to mingle,' joked the ever-charismatic 'Gypsy King', renowned for his banter, sharp wit and eccentricity — qualities often likened to the late Muhammad Ali, whose daughter Rasheda and grandson Nico Walsh also attended the event. Later, The Telegraph and TalkSport's Gareth A. Davies posed the question again, this time more directly: 'You're going to be asked this over and over again, Tyson, but you're looking in fantastic shape, we know you do two workouts a day. How much longer are you going to keep us hanging on to tell us when you're going to come back?' To which the 36-year-old responded: 'The question is to you, Gareth — 'how long is a piece of string?'' The moment recalled the iconic dynamic between Ali and American broadcaster Howard Cosell — a rare connection between an elite athlete and a respected journalist. Then came the confirmation: Fury had indeed been holding back. Prominent Saudi boxing official Turki Alalshikh announced shortly after the IBA Fight Night that Fury will come out of retirement in 2026. "I talked with him, and I have his word to have him in the Riyadh Season in 2026. We have a rabbit to hunt,' said Alalshikh on social media.

Like father, Like son: Dr Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh earns law degree

Dr Sizwe recently graduated from the University of South Africa. Dr Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh with his father, Dali Mpofu, at his graduation. Picture: Instagram/@sizwempofuwalsh Author, academic and broadcaster Dr Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh has officially added another qualification to his name. He recently earned a law degree from the University of South Africa (UNISA), following in the footsteps of his father, Dali Mpofu, who is a prominent South African advocate and legal professional. Taking to Instagram over the weekend, Dr Sizwe said completing his undergraduate law degree was one of the most demanding yet rewarding chapters of his life. 'I never planned to study law. Everyone thought I would because of my father, so I rebelled. But during the pandemic, while working on my second book, I found myself drawn into constitutional debates and discovered the quiet power of the law. I couldn't look away anymore,' he wrote. He added that transitioning from holding a doctorate in international relations to starting again as a law student was a humbling experience. ALSO READ: 'They should be embarrassed': Mpofu slams charges as disciplinary hearing postponed Balancing work, family and studies Dr Sizwe currently lectures in international relations at Wits University and is the founder of the popular current affairs YouTube channel SMWX. He said balancing a growing podcast, his academic duties, and parenthood while pursuing his law studies was one of the toughest professional challenges he has faced. 'I could never have known my son would be born during this journey, cheering me on in his small way as I moved from nappies to assignments, and back again. To share this moment with those I love has been the greatest gift,' he added. While he is not stepping into the courtroom just yet, he said his focus remains on academia and growing his podcast. 'But maybe one day, I'll stand before a court, adding my voice to a tradition that shaped me. This graduation felt special for all these reasons.'
