at a starting price of ₹11.49 lakh. The launch aims to provide a vehicle that bridges the gap between
MPVs and SUVs
, said the company in a media release. The vehicle comes with a bold exterior reflecting Kia's 'Opposites United' philosophy and an advanced safety suite including Level 2 ADAS.

Exterior design
-The exterior design of the Carens Clavis reflects Kia's 'Opposites United' philosophy to combine a strong presence with a modern and futuristic look.
-Key exterior elements include the Kia digital tiger face, ice cube MFR LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights, and starmap LED connected taillamps.
-The vehicle also features R17-43.66 cm (17") crystal-cut dual-tone alloy wheels. With a durable front and rear skid plates with a satin chrome finish add to its road presence.
-The vehicle is equipped with metal-painted side door garnish inserts and a new Ivory Silver Gloss body color enhance its premium appearance.
-It is also available in eight colour options – ivory silver gloss, pewter olive, imperial blue, glacier white pearl, gravity grey, sparkling silver, aurora black pearl, and clear white.
Interiors
-Key interior features include spacious 3rd-row seating. The 2nd-row seats offer sliding, reclining, and one-touch easy electric tumble for flexible comfort.
-The Carens Clavis is available in both 6- and 7-seater options. A segment-first walk-in lever (Boss Mode) provides effortless access and optimal space adjustment.
-The vehicle provides 67.62 cm (26.62') dual panoramic display panel. And a 64-colour ambient lighting with a seat-mounted smart pure air purifier with AQI Display ensures cleaner air.
-Ventilated front seats and a 4-way powered driver's seat enhance comfort. The BOSE Premium Sound System with 8 Speakers delivers rich, immersive audio.
Features
-The Kia Carens Clavis comes equipped with Level 2 of the
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems
(ADAS). This includes 20 autonomous safety features. A blind view monitor in cluster and rear cross traffic collision avoidance assist are also part of the ADAS suite.
-These features include Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop and Go. Front Collision-Avoidance Assist is available for cars, pedestrians, and cyclists.
-The system also includes front collision-avoidance assist – direct oncoming. Lane keeping assist and blind spot collision warning are included.
Safety packages
-The standard safety package includes 18 advanced safety features. Six Airbags provide enhanced protection.
-Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is included. A Rear Occupant Alert System is also standard.
-HAC (Hill-start Assist Control) and DBC (Downhill Brake Control) are included for added safety. Rear Parking Sensors and a Highline Tyre Pressure Monitoring System are also standard.
Powertrain options
-The Carens Clavis offers three powerful powertrain options. The options include Smartstream G1.5 and Smartstream G1.5 Turbo-GDi petrol engines. A 1.5l CRDi VGT diesel engine is also available.
-Both Petrol Turbo & Diesel engines are offered with automatic transmission choices. This includes Kia's first-ever Smartstream G1.5 T-GDi with a 6MT configuration.
-The Carens Clavis comes in seven variants. These include HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+ (O), HTX, and HTX+.
Ownership programmes
Carens Clavis offers a range of innovative ownership programmes. These are designed to enhance the customer experience and provide peace of mind. The My Convenience Secure add-on offers coverage for selected wear & tear parts. The My Convenience program tailors maintenance packages based on individual usage and car care needs.
The Scratch Care Program offers free repair for one scratch within the first 12 months of ownership. Kia also provides Roadside Assistance. Standard coverage for Roadside Assistance is for 3 years. It is extendable for up to 6 years.

Deliveries of the newly launched Kia Carens Clavis have begun. The MPV was introduced in May 2025 as an upper-end variant of the Kia Carens, which is also available for purchase right now. While The Carens comes only in the base Premium variant, the Carens Clavis is offered in seven variants ranging from ₹11.49 lakh to ₹21.50 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. The Kia Carens Clavis is available with a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol motor generating 160 PS and 253 Nm of torque, a 1.5-liter diesel motor with 116 PS and 250 Nm, or a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter petrol motor with 115 PS and 144 Nm. Additionally, an all-new two-spoke steering wheel with the offset Kia badge has been added. This car still retains its three-row configuration, now with a one-touch electric tumble function in the second row for improved access to the third row. Moreover, the second-row seats feature sliding and reclining functionality. The Clavis, features wise, gets an 8-speaker Bose audio system, ambient lighting with 64 colors, a 360-degree camera, a smart key system allowing all of the windows to work, a seat-mounted air-pollution filter with roof vents, a panoramic glass sunroof, ventilated front seats, an electric four-way adjustable driver's seat, and more. The Carens, however, sports a more MPV-inspired look with less angular lines and softer edges. The Clavis rides on bigger 17-inch alloy wheels with an alternative design, with the base Carens receiving 16-inch ones.

Kia is now planning to roll out an SUV version of the Tasman pick-up truck. The Kia Tusman SUV will be closely competing with the likes of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado globally. During an interview, Kia Australia's chassis tuning engineer, Graeme Gambold, and Dean Norbiato, General Manager, Marketing, confirmed the arrival of the Tasman SUV by 2029. On being asked about the Tasman SUV, Graeme and Dean suggested that they are currently focusing on the Tasman pick-up truck, as it yields success, the brand will likely confirm the Tasman SUV officially. However, the Kia officials didn't hint about the expected powertrain and other details the Tasman SUV might get. Also Read: Talking about the Kia Tasman pick-up truck, the brand unveiled it in October 2024. However, there has been no report of the pick-up truck arriving in India anytime soon. It gets a 2.5-litre petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine as options, generating 281 hp and 210 hp respectively, and gets an AWD system, making it a capable off-roader. The brand also provides 17-inch and 18-inch wheels as options. Kia Tasman SUV interior, image used for reference The Kia Tasman pick-up truck is equipped with interior features like a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a 5-inch climate control display, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, a Harmon Kardon premium sound system, and much more. While the Kia Tasman SUV is still far from the initial R&D, it is likely to borrow these features and some added features on the inside. Also, it will get minor design and exterior tweaks to suit the SUV layout.

Kia India launched Carens Clavis in May 2025 in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 11.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Carrying forward the Carens badge with a premium appeal, the MPV's top-end variant comes priced at Rs 21.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The vehicle comes packed with features and multiple powertrain options. It competes against the likes of Maruti Suzuki XL6 in the country. The Kia Carens Clavis MPV features an entirely new design, with the front end showcasing elements such as three-pod LED headlights encased in a triangular layout, V-shaped LED daytime running lights, a blacked-out grille, and black cladding complemented by silver skid plates, contributing to its rugged look. Meanwhile, the overall shape of the vehicle remains consistent, but it now sports a fresh design for the dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels, chrome door handles, and silver roof rails. The rear end mirrors the design of the previous model but offers a renewed look with an LED light strip. The features list for the Carens Clavis includes a dual-screen setup measuring 22.62 inches, the same configuration seen in the Seltos, comprising a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen. Furthermore, the Carens Clavis features ventilated front seats, redesigned AC vents and controls for the automatic climate control, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, four-way power-adjustable seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, among others. The Carens Clavis is fitted with ADAS Level 2 features and comes standard with six airbags, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, lane-keeping assist, smart cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, blind spot collision warning, and more. The Kia Carens Clavis offers three engine choices: a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine that produces 157 hp and 253 Nm of torque, a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine generating 113 hp and 143.8 Nm, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine delivering 113 hp and 250 Nm of torque. The transmission options include a six-speed manual, a six-speed automatic, iMT, and a seven-speed DCT.
