90s sitcom legend admits he's ‘not against' returning for show reboot – despite failing to rejoin cast

Frasier star David Hyde Pierce - aka Niles - refrained from joining the 2023 revival - but hasn't shot down the chance of another appearance.
Speaking about his latest venture in Broadway's Pirates! The Penzance Musical, he shared: "I did not think it would hinge on my participation.
"I thought it should move on from what we were doing," he told Variety.
"When Frasier happened, he didn't bring the gang from Cheers. It was successful because they made it something different.
"Creatively, I thought, I have nothing else. I don't think I'm going to be much fun or be that enthusiastic about returning."
David said about a possible return: "If there was a reason for me to appear, I'm not against it at all."
The 2023 revival introduced son Freddy, played by Jack Cutmore-Scott and introduced Only Fools star Nicholas Lyndhurst as Alan Cornwall in the sitcom.
Although the recent revival was axed by Paramount+ after two seasons, Kelsey admitted he still wanted to find a new space for the show.
Kelsey previously told the New York Post: "There's a better home for it. We'll end up somewhere where people are passionate about it.
"Ted [Danson] and I might visit actually something together.

"We've been talking about a couple ideas. Maybe on Frasier. We don't know.
"As long as it's still a relevant relationship, it will still be relevant for the show,' he added.
"[Sam] and Frasier got along pretty well, discovered some things together about life. They could still do that."
The Cheers spin-off ran between 1993 and 2004 and followed the lives of Frasier, his brother Niles and their dad Martin (John).
David Hyde Pierce played Niles alongside Kelsey Grammer, Jane Leeves, John Mahoney and Peri Gilpin for 11 seasons.
Cast members also included Peri Gilpin as Roz Doyle and Bebe Neuwirth as Lilith Sternin.
Sadly, John, who played Martin Crane, died back in 2018 aged 77.

Tristan Rogers dead: General Hospital star dies after battle with lung cancer
Tristan Rogers has died at the age of 79, his manager confirmed in a sad statement. The General Hospital actor's death comes just weeks after a statement revealed he had been diagnosed with lung cancer. His manager Meryl Soodak said: "He loved being [Robert] Scorpio and he created that role from nothing [on General Hospital]. He was supposed to work a day and he ended up making it into something huge. "He was just a genuinely loyal, kind human being and he loved his family." Speaking to ABC7, Soodak said the actor passed away Friday morning after a being diagnosed with lung cancer. He also noted that Rogers had never been a smoker. Just weeks earlier, Tristan's friend and publicist, Anthony Turk, shared a press release to reveal the sad news of his cancer diagnosis. It read: "'Beloved Emmy-winning actor Tristan Rogers, best known for his role as Robert Scorpio on the daytime drama, General Hospital, is sharing with fans that he has been diagnosed with cancer. "While he remains hopeful and is working closely with his medical team on a treatment plan, this is a challenging time for Tristan and his family." He went on to request "privacy and understanding" and added the family was facing "emotional and physical burdens that come with this diagnosis". Anthony concluded: "'They are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support and love from their friends and family. Tristan sends his love to his fans and wants them to know how much he appreciates their loyalty and encouragement over the years. "This support means more to him now than ever." Tristan had been a part of the stateside soap since 1980. He had taken a step back in recent years, but did reprise his role last year. His final time on air on the show came on November 12 last year. As well as appearing in General Hospital, Tristan had other big roles on soaps in the US. He featured in Young and Restless as Colin Atkinson, while he also starred as Hunter Jones on Bold and Beautiful. Other credits to his name came in the likes of Walt Disney Pictures' The Rescuers Down Under, where he was the voice of Jake. And he also starred in Four Dimensions of Greta in 1972, The Flesh and Blood Show in the same year and Sex Farm from the following year. He had been married to Teresa Parkerson since 1995, with the duo sharing daughter, Sara Jane, 32, and son, Cale, 29.

The View host Ana Navarro tries to shame Gloria Gaynor into refusing Kennedy Center award because of Trump
The View star Ana Navarro has pressured iconic singer Gloria Gaynor to decline a Kennedy Center honor because it is being presented by Donald Trump. Navarro, 53, urged the I Will Survive songstress to heed her call with a lengthy missive to Instagram Thursday. Gaynor, 81, had been named as one of the Kennedy Center Honors recipients for 2025 and is set to receive the prestigious medal in December. 'Yesterday, Trump announced he picked her to receive a Kennedy Center Honor, which he plans to host,' Navarro wrote. 'Look, the woman is a goddess and deserves all the flowers that come her way. 'But I wish she wouldn't accept an award from the hands of a man who has attacked the rights and history of women, people of color and LGBTQ,' the Trump-hating Republican continued, before telling Gaynor who her fanbase was. 'The gay community, in particular, helped turn her signature song into an anthem. Trump is a stain on the prestige and significance of the KCH. 'Don't do it, Gloria!' she begged. The conservative is set to host the event following his takeover of the federally funded DC arts venue back in February. Trump - currently the center's chairman - declared at the time the move was designed to put an end to events featuring performers in drag and other ' woke ' spectacles. Navarro - after reportedly pushing back against network requests to dial back her complaining about Trump last spring - urged Gaynor to take notice offering an anecdote about meeting the singer at a concert a few years ago in the process.
