It is the rather unpredictable and often shocking television series that has taken the world by storm. Squid Game on Netflix has cleverly brought familiar childhood games to groups of money-hungry adults to compete for a cash prize - yet the real kicker has consistently been that if you lose, you die.
Since premiering the Korean series on the video streaming giant in September 2021, Squid Game has become so much more than just a show - it has encouraged a universal discussion about social class, human greed and trying to hold onto one's compassion for others within the most high stakes environment.

Now with the two seasons streaming on Netflix and the third & final season premiering on June 27, the Squid Game cast and crew assembled in Hollywood, California this past Friday evening at the historic Egyptian Theatre for a Netflix FYSEE event to celebrate the critically-acclaimed second season.
While speaking there with these creative artists (with the assistance of a translator), knowing that the entire series has already been filmed, I wondered what they are going to miss most about exploring this Squid Game world on-screen, and if they feel any relief with it ending, being such an intense subject matter and an elaborate production.
Lee Jung-jae attends Netflix's FYSEE "Squid Game" Season 2 event at The Egyptian Theatre on May 30, ... More 2025 in Hollywood, California.
Lee Jung-jae, who plays 'Gi-hun' on Squid Game, said, 'Well, the thing I miss most is the actors and staff, and the rewarding part is the acting with actors and filming with the staff. I think I'm going to miss all the great times we had on production. I'm very proud of what we've done with all the crew and cast. One thing I am going to be relieved of, I don't know if there's anything, but I think maybe the fact that I don't have to go on a diet anymore.'

Kang Ae-sim, who plays 'Geum-ja' on the Netflix series, said, 'I'm going to miss the food, the catering - and there was a restaurant that was really good, so I'm going to miss the food.'
Hwang Dong-hyuk attends Netflix's FYSEE "Squid Game" Season 2 event at The Egyptian Theatre on May ... More 30, 2025 in Hollywood, California.
Squid Game creator, writer and director Hwang Dong-hyuk said, 'I miss the most from the production days, the atmosphere of the set. It was full of people - like actress, like actors and crew members. I lived here for like one year, so I kind of miss it because I'm living alone by myself, so I am lonely and sometimes sitting on my couch alone. At the same time, what I really like, walking away from the production is my own time by myself. It's like a strange feeling. Relief? Yeah. Got free from the production and all those green suit extras. So, I miss it. Also, I'm happy to be walking away from it.'
Park Sung-hoon attends Netflix's FYSEE "Squid Game" Season 2 event at The Egyptian Theatre on May ... More 30, 2025 in Hollywood, California.
Park Sung-hoon, who plays 'Hyun-ju' on Squid Game, said, 'So, you know, it was quite intense, the filming, so we have this camaraderie between us. It was really bad that I didn't get to see [the cast and crew] after production wrapped, and I'm really happy that we got this opportunity to get to see them once again.'
Choi Seung-hyun aka T.O.P. attends Netflix's FYSEE "Squid Game" Season 2 event at The Egyptian ... More Theatre on May 30, 2025 in Hollywood, California.
Choi Seung-hyun, better known as T.O.P. for his longtime Korean rap music career, plays 'Thanos' on the Netflix series. He said, 'So, it was just a really great show with amazing actors. I learned so much.'
Lee Byung-hun attends Netflix's FYSEE "Squid Game" Season 2 event at The Egyptian Theatre on May 30, ... More 2025 in Hollywood, California.
Lee Byung-hun, who plays 'In-ho' and 'Front Man,' said, 'I miss my mask (laughs) and I'm happy that I don't have to wear my mask anymore.'
Also speaking with a few more of the creatives behind-the-scenes of Squid Game, I was curious what was their favorite part while building out this Netflix television production and what has been their biggest challenge within their specific role.
Nam Na-young attends Netflix's FYSEE "Squid Game" Season 2 event at The Egyptian Theatre on May 30, ... More 2025 in Hollywood, California.
Editor Nam Na-young said, 'I'm always just happy to make my bag - to make my money - but also, I would say that the whole process was really enjoyable for me. Of course, the whole process is also difficult because it takes a very long time. I'm sitting there piling through all the takes and trying to figure out which is the best take. So yeah, I would really say there were pros and cons to the entire process.'
Kim Ji-yong attends Netflix's FYSEE "Squid Game" Season 2 event at The Egyptian Theatre on May 30, ... More 2025 in Hollywood, California.
Director of photography Kim Ji-yong said, 'I didn't work on season one. I was a fan, so I was just very excited being on the iconic set of Squid Game. It was fun - exciting to shoot.'
Chae Kyoung-sun attends Netflix's FYSEE "Squid Game" Season 2 event at The Egyptian Theatre on May ... More 30, 2025 in Hollywood, California.
Production designer Chae Kyoung-sun said, 'I would say that being able to express the world of Squid Game, visually, was really exciting for me. I got to be really creative in the ideas I pitched and had some really interesting conversations with director Hwang to be able to develop this world. Of course, you know, in creating these ideas, there's a lot of challenges, as well.'
As this creative team will soon move on to new projects after this Squid Game Netflix series concludes this summer, I wondered what knowledge will they take away from their experiences on this production and bring into their next roles moving forward.
Lee Byung-hun in "Squid Game"
Lee Byung-hun said, 'Before Squid Game, Korea only used to have mostly limited series - we are not used to having subsequent seasons. So, I think that through the experience of Squid Game, we're going to have that experience of having multiple seasons. So, I think for my future projects, I'm going to be thinking about that in advance, so that I can better plan for particular content to come out.'
Choi Seung-hyun in "Squid Game"
Choi said, 'So, Thanos was a rapper, so I learned to rap for the first time - just kidding. So maybe, I'll just debut as a rapper now.'
Park Sung-hoon in "Squid Game"
Park said, 'We had a lot of veteran actors on-set, so I learned so much from them, whether it's life lessons or acting lessons. I think I'm going to use all of them in my next projects.'
Lee Jung-jae and Director Hwang Dong-hyuk on the set of "Squid Game"
Hwang said, 'I learned a lot about enduring things from season one, two and three, because I wrote and directed everything. I probably shot more than 300 days for the three seasons, so I learned how to endure the times and it's going to be helping me a lot for the next project.'
Kang Ae-sim in "Squid Game"
Kang said, 'There were a lot of different situations while filming, so I learned how to kind of react to those situations, and I think that's going to be very helpful going forward in my career.'
Lee Jung-jae in "Squid Game"
Lee Jung-jae concluded with, 'I think in Squid Game, I learned a lot of new filming techniques - and also, it was a project that I spent a lot of time on with the cast and crew. I think that I was able to re-learn what it means to work together, so I'm definitely going to bring that onto my next projects. Season two, Gi-hun was alone a lot - that's the way director Hwang wrote it. So, I was quite lonely - unlike in season one, when I got to chat a lot and have fun with other people. I was isolated during seasons two and three, so I think that the one thing that I am going to carry onto my next projects is the value of working together and communicating.'

Man Sues L.A. Cemetery for Placing Mother's Headstone Over the Wrong Grave — for More Than 3 Years: 'How Could This Happen?'
A man is suing the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles because he claims a headstone for his late mother had been placed over the wrong grave for multiple years The family only learned of the alleged mix-up when they buried their father earlier this year, a lawsuit states "We were just talking to an empty spot," the man's sister saidA man is suing a cemetery in Los Angeles because he claims a headstone for his late mother had been placed over the wrong grave — for more than three years. Chris Demirchyan has sued Forest Lawn Mortuary and the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Association for fraud, breach of contract, negligence and negligent infliction of emotional distress and is seeking compensatory and punitive damages, according to a lawsuit obtained by PEOPLE. Back in 2008, Chris' parents purchased two burial plots at the cemetery. In 2012, he allegedly requested they "release their two plots to allow for the family to have a total of six burial plots in the same area," and he went on to secure "four additional burial plots," the legal document claims. When Chris' mother died in July 2021, she was buried in one of the purchased plots a month later. Then, in September, the complaint claims Chris "entered into a contract" to get a headstone, but the legal document alleges that one "bearing [his] mother's name was ultimately placed on the wrong burial site." Per the lawsuit, Chris and his family "were unaware of this misplacement and continued visiting the incorrect site." Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. When Chris' dad died earlier this year in April, the complaint claims the man and his family made arrangements for their late father to be buried in the adjacent plot next to where they believed their mother to be. However, during the service for his father, the legal document claims that Chris was informed "that while [his] mother was correctly buried in her designated plot, the headstone bearing her name had been placed on a different gravesite." Chris, the complaint claims, "was shocked, devastated and overwhelmed upon learning that the family had been grieving and visiting the wrong site for [his] mother for approximately 4 years." Per the legal document, Forest Lawn Memorial Park "promised that the issue would be corrected," and the cemetery subsequently "removed the incorrectly placed headstone and placed it on the correct site." The ordeal caused Chris "significant emotional distress, including shock, grief and ongoing mental anguish from having grieved and visited the wrong site for [his] mother," according to the complaint. It added that he also "suffered economic losses, emotional distress and other damages as a direct result" of the alleged mix-up. The legal document further accuses the Forest Lawn Memorial Park of being "reckless, negligent and in breach of its contractual obligations to [Chris], including its duty to properly place and maintain the headstone." Speaking with NBC Los Angeles, Chris' sister, Marine Demirchyan, said the ordeal has left her deeply upset. 'When she passed, I thought, 'At least, we have given her a peaceful, respectful place to rest.' But seeing her memorial tablet placed on the wrong grave, it felt like losing her all over again,' she told the outlet. "We were just talking to an empty spot.' 'She was caring. She was loving," Chris added of his mother, also asking NBC Los Angeles: "How could this happen?" In a statement shared with PEOPLE, Chris' attorney, Rosie Zilifyan, said: "Forest Lawn's failure to fulfill its most basic responsibilities—ensuring that a loved one's grave is properly marked — was not just negligent; it was callous. Our lawsuit seeks to hold Forest Lawn fully accountable for its reckless mishandling and to ensure no other family is forced to endure a similar ordeal." The Forest Lawn Memorial Park Association did not respond to PEOPLE's request for comment. Read the original article on People

Travis Barker ‘Played Peacemaker' Between Kourtney Kardashian and Alabama Amid Bhad Bhabie Drama
Kourtney Kardashian and husband Travis Barker's daughter Alabama Barker have gone through ups and downs of late, but a source exclusively tells In Touch that the Blink-182 drummer has brokered peace between the two. 'Kourtney and Alabama have really turned a corner. Things are in a much better place between them now than they were a month ago,' the insider says. 'Not to say Kourtney doesn't still have her hands full. Alabama's a very feisty free spirit. She's always going to stick up for herself. But thankfully, Travis stepped in to play peacemaker.' The source adds that Travis, 49, sat down with his wife, 46, and daughter, 19, and 'told them how much he loves them, and how important it is for them to support each other,' especially now that they have Kourtney and Travis' young son, Rocky, 19 months, to take care of. 'It was a turning point. Kourtney and Alabama had a real heart-to-heart and decided to move forward with a clean slate,' the source concludes. 'They're not besties overnight, but there's a lot more respect and effort on both sides now. They even had a girls' date recently and got their nails done together. Travis couldn't be happier. His girls finally getting along has taken a huge weight off his shoulders.' Alabama even made her appreciation for her stepmom publicly known on Mother's Day. The rapper took to her Instagram Stories on May 11 with a sweet shoutout to Kourtney. 'Happy Mother's Day to someone who chose to love me like her own,' Alabama wrote. 'You stepped into my life with patience, care, and an open heart, and I'm so grateful for everything you've done to support and guide me. Your presence has brought comfort, strength, and so much love, and I truly appreciate the role you've played in my life. Thank you for showing up, for listening, and for being someone I can count on. You mean more to me than you know.' Travis shares Alabama and son Landon, 21, with ex Shanna Moakler. He is also a stepfather to Shanna's daughter Atiana De La Hoya, 26. Meanwhile, Kourtney shares son Mason, 15, daughter Penelope, 12, and son Reign, 10, with ex Scott Disick. She and Travis welcomed Rocky in November 2023. The blended family recently faced some drama when Alabama entered a feud with former friend Danielle Bregoli, a.k.a. Bhad Bhabie and the 'Cash Me Outside' Girl. In late 2024, Bhabie, 22, accused Alabama of trying to steal her boyfriend and the father of her child, Le Vaughn, while the pair was on a break. Though Alabama admitted to 'spending time' with the rapper, she denied knowing that he was Bhabie's boyfriend at the time. The female musicians' beef turned into a rap battle with one song, 'Cry Bhabie,' from Alabama and three tracks, 'Over Cooked,' 'Ms. Whitman' and 'OG Crashout,' from Bhabie. The 'Hi Bich' singer dragged Kourtney and her family into the drama on 'Ms. Whitman' in February when she twerked on a Travis lookalike in the music video and rapped about Alabama allegedly getting 'kicked out of the Kardashian house.' She even included a line that was seemingly about Kourtney, rapping, 'Your stepmom burnt out.' Later, both Reign and Rocky were brought into the mix. Reign, who typically stays off social media, appeared on an Instagram Live with Alabama's boyfriend, Scooter Jackson, to deny rumors that Justin Bieber was his father. Meanwhile, Bhabie's mom, Barbara, slammed Alabama as a 'little dirty ass hoe' that was 'still talking about my granddaughter yet her daddy has a whole new family. Rocky rules while you're just on your knees,' she wrote in a social media post. While the feud has seemingly since fizzled out, a source exclusively told In Touch in early May that it was 'a huge source of stress' for Kourtney and Travis. 'They're both upset and worried about Alabama and now on top of that, Kourtney's hit the roof because Rocky and Reign have both gotten dragged into the negativity,' the insider added. The source continued, 'Rocky's a baby and he's already getting trash talked in public thanks to Alabama having this toxic feud. And now thanks to Alabama's boyfriend, Reign has had to answer questions from random strangers on the internet about whether Justin Bieber is his dad. It's absolutely horrifying.'
