The Tata Memorial Hospital is located in the Parel area in central Mumbai. Zonal DCP Ragasudha R said, "A hoax bomb mail threat was received by the Tata Memorial Hospital this morning.
Nothing suspicious was found. Further legal process is ongoing."The mail was received at 9am on Friday, and the police were immediately alerted. A police team and BDDS personnel arrived at the spot and carried out thorough searches, but nothing suspicious was found. Police are now trying to find the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the email sender. TNN

PG medical student arrested for hoax bomb threat to skip seminar in Mangaluru
MANGALURU: The Mangaluru City police arrested a postgraduate medical student for making a hoax bomb threat to a private hospital under Ullal Police Station limits. The accused has been identified as Dr Chalasani Monica Choudary. City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH stated that the preliminary investigation revealed the accused was scheduled to present a seminar on the day of the incident. In an attempt to avoid the presentation, she allegedly made a hoax call to the hospital. The incident occurred on June 4 at around 8.45 am when the hospital received a threatening call claiming a bomb was planted on the premises and instructing that the hospital be evacuated by 11 am. The hospital reportedly received at least five such calls. Following the alert, around 25 to 30 police personnel, including members of the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and dog squad, rushed to the spot and thoroughly searched the hospital, its parking facility, and surrounding areas. However, no explosive device was found. The hoax created panic among doctors, staff, and patients. Based on technical data analysis, police found that the complainant was in fact the caller. She was arrested on Saturday. Her statement was recorded, and her mobile phone was seized for further investigation, which is in progress. Surprise raids on illegal mkts in UT
Chandigarh: Taking serious note of rampant encroachments in markets across the city, municipal commissioner Amit Kumar directed the joint commissioner to personally go on inspections to curb such unauthorised activities. Acting promptly on his directions, joint commissioner Sumeet Sihag made surprise visits to the Sector 22 market and Sector 19's Sadar Bazaar near Kiran Cinema Friday evening. During the inspection, he found illegal vendors occupying public spaces, causing obstruction and inconvenience to both shoppers and shopkeepers. As part of the enforcement action, 23 illegal vendors were removed from Sector 22 and Sector 19 Sadar Bazaar. Also, a total of 37 challans were issued on the spot, including 14 in Sadar Bazaar alone. Forest ranger hurt in attack by jumbo
Kozhikode: A forest ranger was injured after a wild elephant attacked a forest department patrolling vehicle in Thariyode under Sugandhagiri forest section in Kalpetta forest range in Wayanad. According to forest officials, the incident took place at 2am at 10th Mile near Thariyode when a four-member team had gone to the area following reports of an elephant straying nearby. The elephant charged at the jeep, which was parked on the Chekuthanpalam bridge, forcing the forest personnel to flee for safety. Forest ranger Raman, a resident of Puthanpura hamlet, got trapped between the jeep and the bridge's side railings during the chaos and sustained injuries. The vehicle was also damaged in the attack.
