Apple just dropped a new watch band and wallpapers for Pride 2025
Apple just announced its '2025 Pride Collection,' which includes a new Sport Band for Apple Watch, a dynamic watch face, and a dynamic wallpaper that will be available for iOS and iPadOS. The watch band is available to order from today and the watch face/wallpapers will drop in upcoming software updates.
Apple has been releasing special edition watch bands for Pride Month for almost a decade now, each with a different take on the rainbow/multicolored design. This year's is pretty straightforward, making use of bold stripes of color just like actual pride flags.

The watch face has a shifting animation that circles through the different colors in a diagonal direction. Apple says the stripes shift to form numerals when a wearer lifts their arm to look at the watch — but if those numerals are showing on the little animation posted on the blog then, awkwardly, I can't see them.
The iPhone and iPad versions of the background shift whenever you move, lock, or unlock your device. We'll get access to the wallpapers and watch face with watchOS 11.5, iOS 18.5, and iPadOS 18.5. There's no macOS version of the wallpaper but that isn't too surprising since previous years haven't included one either.
The Sport Band is made out of silicon, with each color mixed separately and then compression-molded together. It's probably the best material choice for such a brightly colored design because it's so easy to keep clean and it doesn't really wear down. There's nothing worse than buying something for the color and seeing it get dirtied and faded within a year.
And this probably is the brightest design Apple has released in the past few years — 2024's Braided Solo Loop had quite a lot of dark colors involved, while 2023's Sport Band was more understated with a white background. The two Pride Sport Loop editions from 2022 were almost pastel-colored compared to this year's design.

It's not clear if this feature would stand on its own or be integrated with sleep detection on the Apple Watch. According to the report, you could also be getting camera control through your AirPods. Clicking the AirPods stem would give you access to the iPhone or iPad camera, 9to5Mac reported. Audio Mix, which was announced with the iPhone 16 models, could also be coming. Audio Mix uses machine learning to adjust the quality of your audio to separate background noise from speech. A new mode for AirPods would join the three existing voice options: In-frame, Studio and Cinematic. Finally, AirPods are rumored to get an improved pairing experience for shared iPads that could include fewer manual steps, according to the report. There's a chance that Apple delays or changes things before WWDC. Maybe we'll get one or two features or all at once. We'll just have to see what comes out of the event, which kicks off with a keynote on June 9. Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Apple has previously partnered with OpenAI to utilize ChatGPT for features such as Siri, Goldman noted. Apple is also expected to introduce a new software development kit that would allow third-party developers to build AI apps using the LLMs that power Apple Intelligence, the bank said. A more specific timeline could come next week, JPMorgan analysts said. This year, Cook is also expected to unveil the latest iOS for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and other devices ahead of the anticipated iPhone 17 launch this fall. The update could introduce some design changes like rounded icons and translucent displays, and add features like AI-optimized battery usage, Goldman Sachs said. Numerically, it would be iOS 19, but Citi analysts said Apple could start numbering the updates by the upcoming calendar year, which would make the new version iOS 26. The event comes after a tough start to the year for Apple, with shares down 18% for 2025 so far, making it the worst-performing Magnificent Seven stock this year, save for Tesla (TSLA).
