Punjab govt expedites work on Ravi City Project

LAHORE: The Punjab government has expedited development work on the Ravi City Project, a modern and fully-facilitated urban initiative connected to Lahore.
In this connection, Punjab Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Secretary Noor ul Amin Mengal chaired a meeting on Thursday. During the meeting, Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) CEO Imran Amin gave a detailed briefing on the project.
According to the spokesperson of the Punjab Housing Department, the meeting reviewed various aspects of Ravi City, including road infrastructure, transport projects, residential and commercial zones, recreational areas, and business districts.
The meeting was told that Lahore's existing and upcoming transport systems will be aligned with the Ravi City Master Plan. Similarly, efforts will be made to ensure early settlement and the promotion of commercial activities in Ravi City. The early completion of recreational sites has also been prioritised to ensure quality entertainment facilities for citizens.
It was further stated that existing populations and nearby rural areas will also be provided with basic amenities based on a sustainable model.
According to the spokesperson, RUDA is proving to be a key milestone in the development of Lahore and its adjoining cities. The province is progressing toward sustainable development under the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, he added.

LAHORE: Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab) has marked significant progress in its flagship project, CBD NSIT City, as it officially received the Special Technology Zone Development Licence from the Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA), positioning it as a cornerstone of Punjab's future digital economy. One of the major highlights of this progress includes the 55 percent completion of construction on the Celestia IT & Office Tower, which is designed to become a modern hub for tech companies, startups and innovation-driven enterprises. The elevation design of the Celestia IT & Office Tower has also been unveiled by CBD Punjab, showcasing a blend of architectural elegance and cutting-edge design, said a spokesman of the authority here on Sunday. Moreover, 25 percent of the infrastructure development across CBD NSIT City has been completed. The residential zone plots within the project have seen remarkable demand, with all four plots successfully auctioned. A strategic agreement has been finalized for establishing a state-of-the-art Data Center in the Astra Block, further advancing the project's technological backbone. The Silicon Block within NSIT City has also been approved by STZA, with 90 percent of its plots already sold a strong indicator of investor confidence in the project. Looking ahead, the Punjab Film City, Pakistan's first-ever dedicated film production zone is set to be launched within NSIT City following final government approvals, adding a creative and entertainment dimension to the development. CEO CBD Punjab, Imran Amin, while expressing his views, stated: NSIT City is not just a real estate development, but the foundation of Pakistan's digital future. Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, Punjab is on course to become a global technology hub. The Central Business District (CBD) Punjab has announced that Nawaz Sharif IT City has been awarded the Special Technology Zone Development Licence by the authority concerned. According to a statement, 25% of infrastructure development in the NSIT City has been completed. The project's residential zone plots have attracted strong market response. An agreement has been finalised to establish a data centre. Meanwhile, the Silicon Block has received approval from the Special Technological Zones Authority (STZA), with 90 per cent of its plots sold. The CBD Punjab is also preparing to launch the country's first film production zone in the NSIT City, pending final government approval. CBD Punjab CEO Imran Amin stated, "Punjab is set to emerge as a global technology hub. This project will attract foreign investment, drive innovation, and power knowledge-based economic growth."
