Deion Sanders sends reminder to Colorado players, staff amid holiday festivities
Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders had a message for players and staff as they got settled into their Memorial Day holiday on Sunday afternoon.
Sanders hoped that everyone involved with his team stayed safe and used good judgment.
"All my (Colorado Buffaloes) PLAYERS & STAFF. I love u @ I miss u. Please be safe & don't do anything to jeopardize your opportunity to be a Professional. Be careful out there because everyone around u ain't really down for u and everybody else is just there," he wrote.
Sanders' message to Colorado personnel came as he has fired off cryptic messages on X.
Last week, he called out "false stories" but did not explain exactly what he was talking about.
"Let's Stop Lying today, tomorrow and the next day. Stop also trafficking false rumors or stories that don't involve not 1 witness that will stand by the story they told privately in order for it to circulate publicly," he wrote.
Coach Prime has been put under the microscope amid his son, Shedeur Sanders, falling to the fifth round of the NFL Draft back in April. He has been his son's biggest supporter, and most of the NFL world was stunned to see the quarterback fall so far.
Shedeur Sanders eventually found himself selected by the Cleveland Browns. He spoke about the online criticism he has received and said it was mostly because people have a negative perception of his father.
"They don't care about other people's opinion of you," Sanders said of the younger generation while visiting a local high school, via Cleveland.com. "They go based off their own — 99% of hatred (directed at him) is toward pops. And then I'm just his son. But (the kids) didn't grow up in an era to where they watched him play. It's just the older generation that does it to me rather than the younger people. Because when I come in person, there's no negativity I see. But it's all over online.
"So, that's why I say I like going (to schools) in person and actually meeting them, and any questions they have, I say, 'Just ask me whatever question you want. Pick any question. No filter, no anything.' That's what they say. And then I just answer whatever they need me to answer."

LA28 organisers say President Donald Trump's travel ban will not affect Olympic Games
Organizers of the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles have said that a travel ban introduced by United States President Donald Trump will not disrupt the Games. Citizens of Afghanistan, Myanmar (Burma), Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen will be banned from entering the U.S. when the ban, which applies to immigrants and non-immigrants, goes into effect Monday. Reynold Hoover, chief executive officer of the organising committee LA28, said that exemptions allowed for a 'wide-open Games' and that the ban would not affect the Olympics themselves. 'The important thing for us is that the federal government and this administration recognized the importance of the Olympics and the Games,' he told Reuters on Thursday. 'There is a carve-out in the order in the travel ban that allows for and assures that there will be access to the Games for the athletes and their families and officials.' LA28 chairman Casey Wasserman said that he was confident that those involved in the Olympics would not be impacted. 'All the constituents that you know so well that come to the city pre-Games and during the Games — it's very clear that the federal government understands that that's an environment that they will be accommodating and provide for,' Wasserman said at a news conference Thursday, via AFP. 'So we have great confidence that that will only continue. It has been the case to date, and it will certainly be the case going forward through the Games.' Wasserman added that he does not expect the ban to affect ticket sales for the Olympics, per Reuters. In addition to the men's soccer World Cup, which is being hosted by the U.S., Canada and Mexico in 2026, and the Olympics, the White House proclamation says that athletes, coaches and immediate relatives at any 'other major sporting event as determined by the Secretary of State' would also be exempt. He's under contract with the Browns for big money for both the 2025 and 2026 seasons before becoming a free agent. Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has already dubbed the Pacers the "greatest comeback team" of her lifetime. They proved that point again with another comeback victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night. Clark, who has been sidelined for weeks with a quad injury, celebrated on social media as the Pacers took their first lead of the game in the final second of the fourth quarter when Tyrese Haliburton's jump shot gave Indiana a one-point lead and secured the 111-110 victory over the Thunder. "YOU CANT MAKE IT UP," Clark posted on X. Her reference to the Pacers' unwavering ability to rally followed her previous post on May 21 when Indiana came back from a 14-point deficit with under three minutes remaining in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals against the New York Knicks. It was another jumper from Haliburton that sent that game to overtime and would give the Pacers Game 1 with a 138-135 overtime win. "PACERS ARE THE GREATEST COMEBACK TEAM IVE EVER SEEN," Clark said at the time. The Thunder's collapse was only half the story on Thursday night. Indiana committed 19 turnovers in the first half but returned in the second with just five turnovers and outscored Oklahoma City 32-16 in the final 10 minutes. Pascal Siakam led the Pacers with 19 points. Obi Toppin scored 17, Myles Turner had 15, and Haliburton and Andrew Nembhard each had 14. "I don't know what you say about it, but I know that this group is a resilient group, and we don't give up until it's 0.0 on the clock," Haliburton said of the win. The Thunder will attempt to even the series when they host the Pacers for Game 2 on Sunday night. After that, the series heads to Indiana.
