‘The most embarrassing part of my career was when I slapped Shah Rukh,' recalls Priya Gill
Anyone who has seen the movie Josh will likely remember the moment Shah Rukh Khan was slapped by actress Priya Gill in one of the film's songs. Now, in a recently resurfaced old interview with Lehren, Gill opens up about her experience working with Shah Rukh and recalls that slap scene as the most embarrassing moment of her career.
'I'll tell you, the most embarrassing thing I did in my entire film career was when I slapped Shah Rukh,' she said.
Gill went on to describe the moment in detail: 'I had to slap him, in the song, at the beginning of the song. We were doing this repeated, repeated thing in Goa. And Mansoor kept telling me, 'Priya, it's not coming with the kind of force that the girl is mad at him.' And I was like, 'Yeah, okay,' and I kept trying, you know. And Shah Rukh said, 'You hit me… hit me.' And Mansoor said, 'Hit him, hit him,' you know? I had to punch him. . I couldn't help it. Oh my gosh, I'll never forget that.'

She added, 'I think there was complete silence. Everybody just… the camera kept rolling. I think the director forgot to say cut because of the reaction. I remember KV the cameraman telling me, 'Girls are going to hate you because you hit Shah Rukh.' I think he was really sweet about it because after, he was explaining to me how it should be done right, and I didn't know what to say. After that, the song starts. So imagine how much tension I felt, and how cool he was about the whole thing.'
Priya Gill also recalled being a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan and described working with him as a blessing. She said, 'I don't know whether you know, but I'm like a… I won't just say I'm a die-hard fan, because fans are only related to the acting side. I've always liked Shah Rukh. When I was studying, I used to watch him on television. He used to come in the serials, and then he became a huge star. But you know, you never think that one day you're going to be with this guy. And I was totally in awe of him.' She continued, 'And I was like, suppose I do something wrong, and he's such a huge star, what's he going to do? What's he going to say? And you have all these doubts coming in. But he was so sweet to us.'

Sonali Bendre Says She Didn't Get Her Due In SRK's Duplicate: 'I Was Supposed To Have An Equal…'
Sonali Bendre recalls her role in Duplicate with Shah Rukh Khan, saying it lost its edge over time. Sonali Bendre has been a familiar face in Hindi cinema for decades, winning hearts with her performances across a variety of genres. But not every film journey has been fulfilling. While revisiting her 1998 movie Duplicate, where she starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan, the actress shared that the experience left her feeling creatively shortchanged. In a candid chat with Bollywood Bubble, Sonali reacted to an old picture from Duplicate and admitted the film is still remembered fondly, especially the songs. However, she felt the character she played didn't evolve as promised. 'This was—I mean, you know—because it's Shah Rukh, and because that song was so popular. It was a film that a lot of people talk about. But this is one of those films that really helped shape the way I wanted my character to be. The idea was to have beautiful grey shades in this character, but it kind of started becoming… my character started becoming very one-dimensional, you know? I think it became more of a secondary character when I got onto it," she said. Looking back at her choices, Sonali compared her experience in Duplicate to her part in Zakhm. While she knew Zakhm featured Pooja Bhatt in the lead, she took on her role with full awareness because of her admiration for director Mahesh Bhatt and the strength of the story. She added, 'See, when I did Zakhm, I knew it wasn't the main character—I knew Pooja had that role. But it was a beautiful story with Bhatt Sahab, and I just wanted to be a part of it, so I did it. But when Duplicate was concerned, I was supposed to have had an equal amount, you know? And at that point, it started to feel like it wasn't the same kind of role anymore. So at that time, I did start to feel like I wasn't getting my due. But I think eventually, it all evened out, and you know—I did get my due." At a recent public appearance captured by paparazzi, Shah Rukh was seen flaunting his chiselled physique, with prominent biceps and tattoos that instantly drew attention. In the videos and photos that have since gone viral, Shah Rukh is spotted wearing a white vest, loose grey pants, a beanie cap, and black sunglasses. The actor is seen walking with his bodyguards and graciously greeting everyone present before leaving the spot. What a look! 😧 King Khan just looking fantabulous in his latest look with tattoo 🎉🎉🎉 Brace yourselves for #King #shahrukhkhan #srk #teamshahrukhkhan — Team Shah Rukh Khan Fan Club (@teamsrkfc) June 1, 2025 Fans couldn't stop gushing over Shah Rukh's new avatar once the look went viral. One netizen wrote, 'What a look! 😧 King Khan just looking fantabulous in his latest look with tattoo 🎉🎉🎉 Brace yourselves for #King #shahrukhkhan #srk.' Another fan added, 'History is in the making.' Previously, during an event in Dubai, Shah Rukh had briefly spoken about King. He said, 'My director, who is Sidharth Anand, is very strict. He made Pathaan. So he is very strict. He said, 'Don't tell people about the film, what you are doing in it.' So I can't tell you, but I can assure you it will entertain you. You will have fun.' With his trademark wit, Shah Rukh also commented on the film's title and quipped, 'I've used many titles…Now we have run out of titles… Now Shah Rukh Khan as Shah Rukh Khan in King. Thoda show-off hogaeya (That was a bit of a show-off).' During another live interaction with the Artistic Director of the Locarno Film Festival, the Jawan actor also revealed that he is currently undergoing physical preparation for the film. He shared, 'The next film I'm doing, King, I have to start working on it. Have to lose some weight and stretch a little so my groin doesn't get caught while I am doing action. It's very painful and hurtful. I have two bags full of icing machines. It's the worst thing to see me on set after action. I look really cool in the film, but after that I look tied up, somebody is pressing my back. It's difficult to walk and then suddenly you see people and send them flying kisses.'
