The messages were sent by Their Highnesses the Rulers, Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi of Sharjah, Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi of Ajman, Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi of Fujairah, Sheikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mu'alla of Umm Al Qaiwain, and Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi of Ras Al Khaimah.
Their Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers also sent similar messages of condolences to the Saudi King.

Saudi's group housing laws: What one must follow
Image credit: Getty Images The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing in Saudi Arabia has announced comprehensive health, safety, and technical regulations for group housing facilities across the country. The new standards address building dimensions, location, noise levels, parking availability, and essential services to ensure improved living conditions for large groups of residents. Group housing has been categorised into three types: residential buildings, residential complexes, and mobile cabins, with capacities ranging from 500 to 10,000 residents, Read- Residential buildings are limited to a maximum of 500 residents. Each bedroom must provide at least four square meters per person, with no more than ten occupants per room. Facilities must also include two kitchens, restrooms and bathing areas for every eight people, as well as designated rest areas, laundry rooms, potable water, climate control, cleaning services, and pest control. A Saudi national must be assigned as a dedicated supervisor for operations. Accommodation capacity Residential complexes can accommodate up to 10,000 residents and must follow similar spacing and occupancy rules. Additional requirements include two kitchens per floor, laundry facilities, prayer rooms, emergency rooms for every 1,000 residents, and a medical clinic for every 5,000. Mobile cabins, typically used for temporary housing on project sites, must meet the same occupancy criteria. They are required to feature a central kitchen, laundry services, prayer rooms, health isolation areas, climate control, emergency rooms, and clinics. Cabins must be designed for heavy operational loads and frequent transport, constructed with steel or aluminum frames, composite insulated walls, anti-slip flooring, and pitched roofs. Electrical, plumbing, insulation, and ventilation standards must be met. Planning, safety, and accessibility requirements The new regulations also impose strict licensing conditions, including approvals from relevant authorities, building permits, execution plans, and health and safety documentation. Fire alarms, first-aid kits, regular maintenance, and access for emergency services are mandatory. Facilities must also be accessible for people with disabilities. Built-up areas cannot exceed 40 per cent of the land plot. Housing sites must provide EV charging points, fuel stations, repair centers, commercial and service areas, pedestrian and bike paths, shaded parking, recreational zones, and modern lighting. Parking must be allocated at a ratio of one space per 100 residents, with bus parking for half the population and dedicated spaces for those with disabilities. Architectural features must comply with urban design codes, including safe stair railings, window sills, drainage systems, and waste disposal for high-rise buildings. The regulations also prohibit certain design elements, including boundary walls on commercial streets, barriers above fences, and placing air conditioners or satellite dishes on balconies.

Gulf Today Report The ceremony of washing the Holy Kaaba unfolds in three main, meticulously executed stages, each characterised by extreme care and precision. The process begins with the preparation phase, utilising a special blend of 20 liters of Zamzam water, 80 ml of specialised oud oil, and 540 ml of Taif rose water. Following preparation, the washing stage involves the application of 11 liters of dedicated perfume for washing the Holy Kaaba, along with 3 ml of musk. Finally, the ceremony concludes with the perfuming and fumigation stage, employing 500 ml of Taif rose oil and 500 grams of fine oud incence. MAKKAH DEPUTY GOVERNOR WASHES HOLY KAABA ON BEHLAF OF KING SALMAN On behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region Prince Saud Bin Mishaal Bin Abdulaziz was honoured with the task of washing the Holy Kaaba. Upon his arrival, the deputy governor performed the ritual washing of the interior of the Holy Kaaba using Zamzam water mixed with rose water. This was carried out by rubbing the interior walls with pieces of cloth pre-soaked in the specially prepared mixture, provided by the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque. Several officials, members of the Islamic diplomatic corps accredited to the Kingdom, and the custodians of the Kaaba joined the deputy governor in washing the Holy Kaaba. The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque affirmed that the Holy Kaaba's washing is conducted with the utmost care and precision, a reflection of the Kaaba's elevated status and in keeping with its sanctity and deeply rooted place in the hearts of Muslims worldwide. The washing process, known as 'Ghusl,' always follows the replacement of the Kiswa which took place on the first day of the Islamic New Year. The authority also emphasised that all materials used are carefully prepared in advance to ensure the highest levels of purity and sanctity, following the latest and most advanced standards and service systems for this globally significant event.

Faya nomination reflects Sharjah's heritage commitment, says Bodour
Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, official ambassador for the ongoing Unesco World Heritage nomination of the Faya Palaeolandscape said, "The decision by His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to approve the boundaries of the Faya site nominated for inscription on the Unesco World Heritage List, embodies his far-sighted vision and profound commitment to protecting humanity's heritage and safeguarding its treasures for future generations. "This site, whose history has been intertwined with that of humankind for more than 200,000 years, not only reinforces Sharjah's position as a global centre of knowledge and culture, but also reflects our steadfast belief that heritage is a bridge connecting the past to the present, granting communities a renewed identity and a living memory.' She emphasised, "We are working with utmost dedication and determination to ensure that the Faya site receives the recognition it truly deserves on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This place is not merely a testament to the history of the UAE alone; it stands as witness to the history of all humanity." "Faya holds invaluable evidence of early human migration routes and represents a rare chapter in the story of human evolution and adaptability. As partners with the international community in preserving heritage, we affirm that protecting this site and deepening the world's understanding of it is a collective responsibility-one that we in Sharjah embrace with utmost seriousness and passion, firmly believing that safeguarding heritage is, in essence, safeguarding identity and enriching our collective understanding of humanity,' she said.
