Luis Diaz's partner posts 'goodbye to Liverpool' as Reds star eyed by Barcelona
Luis Diaz has been linked with summer moves to Barcelona and the Saudi Pro League, and his partner's Instagram activity has got many Liverpool fans feeling he could be about to leave Luis Diaz's partner has turned heads by posting what many are determining to be a goodbye message to Liverpool and the club's fans amid speculation linking the Colombian winger with a move away. Gera Ponce took to Instagram to share images of the couple and their young children as they celebrated winning the Premier League title in front of the Kop, as well as video from last Monday's trophy parade in the city. Diaz was a key player for Arne Slot over the last campaign, scoring 17 times in 50 appearances as the Dutchman used him on both the left of the attack and through the middle, often to great effect. But despite Slot's regular reliance upon the Colombian, rumours have persisted about the 28-year-old's potential departure from Anfield. Diaz has been strongly linked with a move to Barcelona, with sporting director Deco recently confirming that the Catalan giants would be keen on signing him. The former Porto man is also being targeted by clubs in Saudi Arabia. He currently has two years remaining on his contract at Liverpool, and has stated that he would like to stay at the club. But with Liverpool eyeing a move for German star Florian Wirtz and being strongly linked with Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike, they may be tempted to cash in on Diaz should a suitable offer arrive. Gera wrote on Instagram: "To the incredible Liverpool fans. From the first day we arrived, we felt first hand what it means to be a part of this club. We knew the slogan was 'You'll Never Walk Alone', but to hear them sing it with so much passion, support us every moment and show such unconditional love... confirmed to us that here you never walk alone. "This fan doesn't just support, it feels. And what you have made my boyfriend and our entire family feel is something we carry in our souls. "Thank you for so much love, for so much dedication and for making us feel at home. Being a part of this fan is a privilege. There's no doubt: they're the best in the world. This is a real bond, deep and strong, that reaffirms that we'll never walk alone." The message, which was liked by Diaz's account, doesn't confirm that the Colombian is leaving of course, and could instead merely be a gesture of thanks to Reds supporters. However, Gera's post was soon flooded with comments from Liverpool fans. One wrote "I hope this isn't a farewell post", with another adding "I hope you're both not wishing us farewell, we love you guys and we want you to stay." Barcelona fans also spotted the post, and were quick to reply and 'welcome' the couple to Catalonia.

Pictured: Schoolgirl, 15, killed in devastating house blaze with woman, 67, as police probe 'unexplained' deaths
A schoolgirl killed in a horror fire has been named and pictured by police. Ann Eyre, 15, died at the scene alongside a 67-year-old woman following a fire at a home in St Patrick's Way, Bletchley, near Milton Keynes. Emergency services raced to the street on Friday at 12.10pm with firefighters quickly bringing the flames under control. Thames Valley Police is treating the deaths as 'unexplained' and has since launched an investigation. A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: 'Although she has not been formally identified, we can confirm the girl who tragically died was Ann Eyre, from Bletchley. 'We'd ask people to respect her family's privacy at this incredibly difficult time. 'Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the victims of this tragic fire.' The spokesperson added the force was unable to confirm the identity of the woman. Emotional tributes have since been paid to the youngster on social media who was described as 'smart and funny'. One person wrote on Facebook: 'Such a beautiful soul you lit up the room with your smile. Keep blowing those bubbles up there.' While another added: 'Such a lovely young lady, it was a joy to know her.' One neighbour, named only as Gabriel, told the BBC he had heard 'loud screams' coming from the home during the fire. The father said what he saw was 'unimaginable', before adding: 'Earlier when it happened, I really wasn't myself. I was very, very, shocked.' He described the family who lived at the home as 'easy-going, calm and lovely'.

Shelton confident he is closing gap to top players despite Alcaraz defeat
PARIS, June 1 (Reuters) - World number 13 Ben Shelton is confident he is cutting the distance dividing him to top players despite his loss to defending French Open champion Carlos Alcaraz in the fourth round on Sunday. Shelton, 22, pushed the world number two to four sets and though the Spaniard proved to be too good on the day, there were still plenty of positive takeaways. "For me, this is the closest that I've felt in a match against him, and the most pressure that I thought that I've applied, the most comfortable that I felt in the baseline exchanges, the best I've hit my open-stance backhand when he's put pressure there," he told a press conference. Shelton has now lost all three matches against Alcaraz but Sunday's was the first where he took a set. "In that way, it also being a clay court is kind of ironic, arguably his better surface, and arguably my least-experienced surface." Shelton had never before made it into the fourth round and he was one of eight Americans - five women and three men - to reach that stage in Paris, breaking a 40-year-old record. "There are a lot of positives to take from that because I feel like my game is improving a lot," he said. Shelton also lost to world number one Jannik Sinner at the Australian Open semi-final in January but that gap to the top has been closing, he said. He trails the Italian 5-1 in their head-to-head. "I don't want to be disrespectful and just be 'I'm right there' but I feel like I am close to starting to win some matches like that, give guys a run for their money more often, and have these deeper runs more consistently." "Not two bad guys to lose to. Those two matches I've lost at Slams this year, I consider myself a really good Grand Slam match player. "Hopefully I can continue to improve and take that next step, because that's where I want to be."
