April Blair breaks down the ‘Ransom Canyon' finale and teases season 2
Showrunner April Blair unpacked the season 1 ending and teased potential storylines for Ransom Canyon season 2 in a recent interview.
The finale, titled 'Maybe It's Time Yancy Grey Dies Too,' deepens the romantic tensions and unravels the mystery behind Randall Kirkland's tragic accident. Blair revealed the car crash twist wasn't in the original Jodi Thomas book but was crafted to add suspense and emotional complexity. The shocking reveal that Margaret Brigman was behind the wheel added dramatic weight to Lauren Brigman's storyline.
Kathy Bates-level intensity came through in the love triangle featuring Staten Kirkland (Josh Duhamel), Quinn O'Grady (Minka Kelly), and her decision to return to New York to pursue her music. Blair emphasized Staten's emotional struggles and fear of loss, shaping future tension if the series returns.
Meanwhile, the unexpected appearance of Yancy Grey's wife throws a wrench into his proposal to Ellie. Blair teased a major new character arc for season 2, noting Erica Dasher played the mystery woman's back in the finale.
Themes of love, legacy, and land run deep, especially after Cap Fuller's death, which unites the town. With unfinished business, family secrets, and growing romance, Blair hopes to expand these threads in season 2 of Ransom Canyon. Netflix has yet to confirm renewal.

Daredevil: Born Again season two could be the last, says Charlie Cox
Actor Charlie Cox has suggested that the upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again could mark the end of the Disney+ series. Speaking at GalaxyCon, the Daredevil star revealed that the latest season, which recently wrapped filming, includes a storyline element not found in the original Marvel Comics — a hint that the show may conclude. 'There's something we do in this final season that doesn't exist in the comics,' Cox told fans during the panel, fueling speculation about the show's future. His comments left some viewers disappointed, especially given that Daredevil: Born Again only debuted earlier this year as a reboot of the fan-favorite Netflix series. However, co-star Vincent D'Onofrio, who portrays Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, offered a different perspective. Responding to a fan on social media, D'Onofrio suggested there is 'a good chance' the series could continue into a third season, leaving the question open. Even if the Disney+ series concludes with season two, the character of Daredevil will remain active in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Cox is set to reprise the role in the upcoming Spider-Man trilogy and future Avengers projects. In the comics, Daredevil frequently teams up with Spider-Man, indicating his storyline will extend beyond the streaming series. Uncertainty also surrounds the future of Kingpin in the MCU. While the character could continue appearing in other Marvel titles, his arc may wrap with Daredevil: Born Again or the forthcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in Spring 2026, ahead of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Marvel fans will have to wait for official confirmation on whether season two will indeed be the last.

‘Stuart Fails to Save the Universe' adds Ryan Cartwright, Josh Brener, and Tommy Walker to cast
HBO Max's upcoming Big Bang Theory spinoff, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, has added Ryan Cartwright, Josh Brener, and Tommy Walker in major recurring roles, according to multiple sources. The series, a comedic sci-fi extension of the original sitcom, stars Kevin Sussman reprising his role as Stuart Bloom alongside Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn, and John Ross Bowie. Created by The Big Bang Theory co-creators Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, in collaboration with The Avengers screenwriter Zak Penn, the series is set in the future and follows comic book shop owner Stuart as he attempts to repair reality after accidentally triggering a multiverse catastrophe. The device at the center of the chaos was originally built by Sheldon and Leonard. Lapkus returns as Denise, Stuart's girlfriend, Posehn plays geologist Bert, and Bowie reprises his role as physicist Barry Kripke. Together, they face alternate-universe versions of familiar Big Bang characters in their chaotic quest to restore order. Cartwright, who guest-starred in The Big Bang Theory Season 6 as a British student in Penny's history class, will portray Kyle, a comic book enthusiast and regular at Stuart's store. Brener, who appeared in two Big Bang episodes as Stuart's friend Dale, will play a new character named Trevor. Walker takes on the role of Gary, Denise's attractive new boyfriend. All three actors have prior ties to Chuck Lorre's TV universe. Cartwright has appeared in Mom, Bob Hearts Abishola, and B Positive. Brener's recent credits include Saturday Night, Carry-On, and Netflix's 3 Body Problem. Walker, best known for Danger Force, previously guest-starred on Lorre's The Kominsky Method. Stuart Fails to Save the Universe is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
