On Saturday, the Premier League team emerged unbeaten from their group to secure a Sunday morning quarter-final meeting with Football Club.
Since he was part of the West Ham team knocked out by Fulham at that stage 12 months ago, Terry has spent a successful season on loan with non-league Hornchurch, and agreed a new West Ham contract.
Terry said the January appointment of head coach Graham Potter had given everyone a fresh start. 'He is giving opportunities to young players, we want to impress him and have a chance of reaching the first team,' Terry said.
The 20-year-old, whose West Ham under-18s thumped an Arsenal side featuring current first-teamers Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri 5-1 at Emirates Stadium in the 2023 FA Youth Cup final, has divided playing for Hornchurch with training back at his parent club.

'It's the best of both worlds, getting to play men's football, but also training with the first team and being around the under-21s for matches, as a big figure in the dressing room,' Terry said. He acknowledged, nonetheless, that the Soccer Sevens was providing a welcome chance to impress his club's coaches and supporters.

Hong Kong Bulls set for Kai Tak home ground if they reach play-off final
Hong Kong Bulls have moved closer to receiving the green light to play their home matches at Kai Tak Arena should they reach next month's National Basketball League play-off final. The reigning champions faced losing their home court advantage in the post-season after Southorn Stadium, their regular base in Wan Chai, was ruled not up to standard by the Chinese Basketball Association. After they contacted the government's Cultural, Sports and Tourism Bureau and other parties including Kai Tak Sports Park in mid-July, a government source this week told the Post the venue was 'almost a done deal'. The four-team post-season will run between August 30 and September 25, with the final a best-of-seven series. 'We're still trying to help with the semi-final venue, but it's not likely it could also be held at Kai Tak Arena,' the source said. 'We're still looking for other available venues.' Hong Kong Coliseum was already expected to be unavailable.

Hong Kong cricketers to prepare for Asia Cup with tour of host nation UAE
Hong Kong have named a 20-man squad for cricket's ACC Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates and announced a preparation camp in the host country ahead of next month's tournament. Captained by Yasim Murtaza and led by their newly appointed head coach, Kaushal Silva, the city's team will head to the UAE on Sunday. The T20 tournament will take place from September 9 to September 28, with the preceding camp set to feature competitive preparation matches and training sessions. Hong Kong will take on Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the group stage. 'As we embark on our journey to the Asia Cup 2025, our final preparations will begin with this tour,' Silva said. 'This wider squad will allow me to better assess each individual and provide players with the opportunity to hone their skills, and build stronger bonds and a winning mentality within the group. 'This preparation tour will be crucial in helping the team acclimatise to the weather and pitch conditions. We are planning matches at different venues and will gain valuable experience through under-lights training, which I believe will be extremely beneficial for our players.'
