America's ‘Most Boring' Cities List Sparks Outrage From Local Newsrooms
But a new study from Finance Buzz - that's caught the attention of numerous local news outlets, proves I wasn't alone.
The list, which named America's top-20 most boring cities, has gone viral. WCNC – Charlotte, North Carolina's local NBC-affiliate – received plenty of responses to its Instagram post discussing the study. Charlotte checked in at No. 20 on the list, for what it's worth.
What's America's No. 1 most boring city you are likely asking? Well, according to Finance Buzz, that would be Jacksonville, Florida.

A post from a local Jacksonville Instagram page drew reactions as well from its citizens.
"Been living in Jax for 3 years…ain't no way it's NUMBER ONE on this list," a local replied.
An Instagram page dedicated to the state of Arizona took offense as well to Phoenix being ranked number 10.
"Yet everyone wants to move here," replied a user.
Memphis, Tennessee, which checked in at No. 5, saw one of its city-dedicated Instagram pages make a post as well.
"How is that possible with their history and culture as well as the music that it's known for?" asked a user.
According to Finance Buzz, it considered population makeup, culinary scene, outdoor activities, nightlife and signature events and attractions in its evaluation of cities. Clearly, though, locals of the cities included in the list couldn't disagree more with the findings.

They also revealed that Sofia didn't stay with Ree and instead ended up at Scott's mother's house—whom Sofia knows as Abuela. The family's golden retriever George, was also at the sleepover, which lasted one night and ended earlier this week. This wasn't the first time Alex had left her daughter, though. Back in March of this year, she traveled to Charleston, South Carolina, to attend her sister Paige's bachelorette party, leaving Sofia with her dad and Abuela. 'Haven't left this girl [Sofia] for more than like 3 hours haha so feeling a lil' sad about leaving her for 3 nights. But I'm telling myself it'll be a good band-aid to rip off,' Alex wrote on Instagram at the time. 'Plus she has the best daddy ever and I know she'll be in the best hands.' Speaking of Sofia's dad, Scott has also done some overnight trips alone before, leaving his daughter and wife home all by themselves for some much-needed girl time. Jason Momoa reveals he nearly drowned while surfing in Hawaii: ‘I gave up'
The King of the Atlantis nearly lost his life in the water. Jason Momoa appeared on the 'Smartless' podcast Monday and recounted the time he almost drowned off the coast of Maui 18 years ago. 'I was doing this paddle, we went in at Jaws,' the 'Aquaman' star, 46, said, referring to the island's biggest surf break. 'We paddled like 13 miles down the coast. 'But I'm probably half a mile at that point offshore. 'I have seven more miles to paddle. I couldn't stop for my kids, I couldn't stop for my ex, I couldn't stop smoking,' he explained. 'And the moment I came out, I never smoked again. Like, I just died. I tried and tried, but I couldn't do it again because I just gave up. Like, I gave up my life.'
