4 people injured after police pursuit in Glendale ends in a crash
The Glendale Police Department said officers were trying to conduct a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle when the driver fled. A pursuit was initiated but ended in a crash near Jackson Street and Lexington Drive.
Police said there were four people inside the car at the time of the crash. One person was ejected and is in critical condition, one had moderate injuries with facial trauma, another had moderate to severe injuries and another individual was found about a block away from the crash.
All four people were taken to the hospital.

Sacramento sheriff claims Kaiser Permanente interfered in shooting investigation that left teen wounded
Sacramento County Sheriff Jim Cooper called out Kaiser Permanente after he said the hospital impeded their investigation after a 14-year-old boy was shot in the face on 42nd Street. Cooper posted on X his frustrations and said Kaiser blocked them from getting the video of the car that dropped a 14-year-old boy off at the hospital. "Who took him there? What kind of car were they in? Why didn't they stick around?" asked Sergeant Amar Gandhi, a spokesperson with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office. Gandhi said that Kaiser asked them for a warrant, which was never needed in the past. Gandhi confirmed that deputies did view the video the night of the shooting, but they were not allowed to record it, take it or book it. He said it was virtually useless to them. Criminal defense attorney Mike Wise, who is not affiliated with this case, said Kaiser cooperated and did not interfere with the investigation. "We were surprised to see the social media post this morning from Sacramento Sheriff Jim Cooper," Kaiser said in a statement. "We have had a long, positive relationship with the sheriff and his office and have nothing but respect for the work they do." In Cooper's post, the sheriff also criticized Kaiser's new policy: a law enforcement visitation form that requires law enforcement to justify speaking with someone. "I have never seen that before in 30 years of criminal law as both a prosecutor and defense attorney," said Wise. Wise believes Kaiser's directors are trying to protect themselves from negligent release of information. The sheriff's office believes Kaiser is trying to protect patients from United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, but local law enforcement does not deal with immigration enforcement. "We are committed to complying with the law, cooperating with law enforcement, maintaining safe places for care, and protecting patient privacy," Kaiser's statement went on to say. Gandhi said they are concerned the forms could tip off abusers that police are after them. "I am telling you right now, if you are a bad guy and you've abused a kid, we are going to come get you," said Gandhi. "We are not going to let a form stand in our way." In California, it is mandatory for medical staff to report and cooperate with law enforcement when dealing with victims of sexual assault and minors who are victims of abuse -- even if the victim does not want to talk or the suspect is there. CBS Sacramento asked Kaiser why it created the law enforcement visitation form. It did not have an answer, but Jan Emerson-Shea, a spokesperson with the California Hospital Association, provided a statement. "California hospitals are required under both state and federal laws to protect the privacy of patients," Shea said. "California state law mandates a greater level of patient privacy protections than HIPAA. Under the California Penal Code (Sections 1543-1545), hospitals are prohibited from giving patient information to law enforcement agencies without a court order, search warrant, or the patient's written permission." Gandhi said the sheriff's office met with Kaiser on Thursday afternoon and had a meaningful conversation. The sheriff's office is looking forward to working together to find a solution.

Man posing as hospital worker swipes skin grafts, valuable medical equipment, officials say
A Riverside County man was arrested for allegedly posing as a hospital worker and stealing more than $100,000 worth of medical equipment, according to authorities. Around 3:30 p.m. on July 9, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff's Office responded to a hospital in the 35000 block of Bob Hope Drive to a report of medical equipment theft, according to a news release. Authorities say the suspect allegedly dressed as a hospital employee — wearing blue scrubs and surgical mask — and stole more than $100,000 worth of surgical equipment and skin grafts during three separate incidents in June and July, according to the news release. On Aug. 6, 47-year-old San Jacinto resident Jason Brauner was stopped by deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff's Office in Del Mar, according to the release. When deputies searched his vehicle, they allegedly found stolen medical equipment and hospital apparel. Authorities also served a search warrant at Brauner's residence on Potomac Circle in San Jacinto and allegedly recovered additional stolen medical supplies worth between $10,000 and $25,000. Brauner was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center on suspicion of grand theft, commercial burglary and possession of stolen property, according to the release. Deputies also discovered that hospitals in Newport Beach and Loma Linda were targeted in similar thefts. Brauner has been identified as a suspect in those incidents. Authorities plan to file additional charges against Brauner in relation to those incidents and are investigating whether other hospitals may have been targeted as well, according to the release. Roy woman charged after 10-month-old baby hospitalized for ingesting narcotics, documents say
Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. LAYTON, Utah () — A Roy woman has been charged after her 10-month-old baby was hospitalized for ingesting narcotics. The woman had allegedly hosted a party where she and others took narcotics the night before. Amber Belinda Butler, 31, has been charged with endangerment of a child resulting in serious bodily injury, a second-degree felony. According to court documents, on July 20, 2025, an officer with the Layton Police Department was dispatched to a hospital in Layton on a report of child abuse. When he arrived, a doctor at the hospital explained that Butler and her husband had brought in their 10-month-old child for 'seizure-like symptoms.' WATCH: Heber City Police help child left in hot car, mom arrested and charged The Layton Police officer read Butler her Miranda Rights and asked her about what happened. Butler allegedly explained that she and her husband had just gotten married, and the two were hosting a wedding party at their home in Roy the night before. During the party, the 10-month-old child stayed at Butler's mother's house while they celebrated. Documents say that Butler told police that there were drugs at the party, and she had ingested pill capsules with 'Molly, commonly known as MDMA or Ecstasy,' while outside, and then left to go to bars. Butler's husband told police that she had actually taken the drug while in the kitchen, and other individuals were also doing narcotics and other controlled substances in there. Butler told the police officer that she wasn't sure if any of it got onto the floor. Her husband said that they had wiped off the counters when they got home from celebrating, and that possibly knocked substances onto the floor. According to court documents, both Butler and her husband stated that Butler's mother returned the baby the next day, around 1 p.m. Butler's husband reported that the 10-month-old's behavior was normal until he left her on the living room floor while he took a smoke break outside. At that point, Butler contacted a family member for a ride and took the baby to the emergency room. A urine test performed on the 10-month-old revealed that there was cocaine, amphetamine, and MDMA in her system. The Layton Police officer took Butler into custody, as she had endangered her child by ingesting narcotics in an area where her child 'spends time and would have access to items on the floor.' Butler was booked into the Davis County Jail, but was released with conditions.
