Paras Arora on Gharwali Pedwali: Comedy shows are rare and I love being part of one
Last seen in Gehna Zewar Ya Zanjeer,
Paras Arora
is gearing up for his next role in Gharwali Pedwali, a family comedy with a supernatural twist. He plays Prithvi Mishra, also known as Jeetu, a man navigating life with two sets of everything: parents, bosses, and even wives.
Speaking about his return to the comedy genre, Paras says, 'Comedy shows have become quite rare these days and I enjoy working in this space. While drama dominates Indian television, not many shows aim to genuinely make people laugh. I consider it a privilege to be part of one that does. It had been a while since I explored this genre and I truly connected with the script, the concept, and my character Jeetu. Another appealing aspect is that most characters in the show are rooted in Uttar Pradesh, which adds a nice cultural layer.
'
Describing his character, he shares, 'What I find most fun and fascinating about Jeetu is how he's caught between his gharwali and pedwali, constantly juggling both lives. The situations he finds himself in are bizarre, humorous, and oddly relatable. Jeetu isn't street smart or manipulative, he's just trying to keep things from spiralling out of control. There's an innocence to him that makes him very likeable.'

Paras also touches on the complexity of playing Jeetu. He says, 'One of the biggest challenges was striking the right balance, ensuring he didn't come across as either too clever or too naïve. There's a thin line between being sharp and being wise and walking that convincingly was something I really enjoyed.'
The show also promises to blend traditional values with contemporary humour in unexpected ways. On the title, he adds, 'Gharwali Pedwali is quirky and fits perfectly with the story's tone. It sets the stage for the kind of chaos the audience can expect, with enough surprises to keep them hooked.'

Saiyaara 3 Weeks India Box Office: Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda starrer continues glorious run; Nets Rs 308 crore in 21 days
Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri and starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda among others, recently crossed Rs 300 crore net at the Indian box office. The movie continued to get collections steadily in its third week, despite new releases like Dhadak 2 and Son Of Sardaar 2 flooding the marketplace. With a little under Rs 30 crore net in its 3rd week, the total collections of the romantic musical directed by Mohit Suri after 21 days, stands at Rs 307.75 crore. The Day Wise India Box Office Collections Of Saiyaara Are As Under Particulars India Net Collections Week 1 Rs 173.50 crore Week 2 Rs 106.25 crore 3rd Friday Rs 4.75 crore 3rd Saturday Rs 6.75 crore 3rd Sunday Rs 8 crore 3rd Monday Rs 2.25 crore 3rd Tuesday Rs 2.75 crore 3rd Wednesday Rs 2 crore 3rd Thursday Rs 1.75 crore Total Rs 307.75 crore net in 21 days in India Saiyaara Looks To End Its India Theatrical Run At Around Rs 330 Crore Net Saiyaara is going to add another Rs 12-14 crore in its fourth week, thanks to no new big releases affecting it, like last week. After week 4, it will be standing at over Rs 320 crore net. Then, the box office will get crowded due to YRF's own War 2 and Rajinikanth's star vehicle, Coolie. Collections will be hard to come by, once these two movies hit the theatres. A lifetime number of Rs 330 crore net is what is expected, depending on the acceptance of the new films. Saiyaara Heads For A Rs 575 Crore Gross Worldwide Finish While the India collections may slow down, the overseas collections don't seem to be slowing down. The movie is on a gravity defying run in UK with it showing signs of an all time top 3 finish among Indian movies in the country. YRF's own Pathaan sits at the top, followed by Jawan. The projected global lifetime of Saiyaara is around Rs 575 crore gross and that's insane. It is already the year's second highest grosser, only behind Chhaava. Obviously after War 2 and Coolie, there can be some shuffling. Saiyaara In Theatres

Bollywood celebrates Guru Dutt's timeless legacy during the premiere of Pyaasa's restored version
Legendary filmmaker 's cinematic masterpiece 'Pyaasa' has been restored in 4K by NFDC-NFAI under the National Film Heritage Mission, an initiative by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now A special premiere of the drama was held in Mumbai, preceded by an engaging panel discussion with lyricist , filmmakers , R Balki, , and senior journalist and critic Bhawana Somaaya. The premiere was graced by some noted personalities from the film fraternity, such as Javed Akhtar, R Balki, , , Hansal Mehta, Sudhir Mishra, Rituparna Sengupta, Divya Dutta, Akshaye Oberoi, Anoop Soni, , and . Additionally, NFDC Managing Director Shri Prakash Magdum and Ultra Media's Sushil Agrawal and Rajat Agrawal were also present at the event. The panel indulged in a deep discussion of Dutt's unmatchable influence on Indian cinema. Dutt's work is being showcased across PVR INOX and Cinepolis theatres this weekend, including 'Pyaasa,' 'Kaagaz Ke Phool,' 'Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam,' 'Aar Paar,' 'Chaudhvin Ka Chand,' 'Mr. & Mrs. 55,' and 'Baaz,' offering movie buffs a rare opportunity to witness these timeless classics on the big screen. Shedding light on the event, Akhtar said: "After my graduation, I thought I would go to the film industry and join Guru Dutt for a couple of years, and then I'll become a director. When you're 18 years old, things are simpler and easier, so that's what I had decided. It's so unfortunate that I came to Bombay (now Mumbai) in 1964, on October 4, and he passed away on October 10, so I could never ever see him." "I had really thought that when I go (to Mumbai) somehow I'll manage (to work with Guru Dutt) because (poet-lyricist) Sahir (Ludhianvi) sahab was a good friend of Guru Dutt and he had written songs for 'Pyaasa', I thought this connection would work. I had thought I'd assist him for a while, but it didn't work," he added.
