Man United sign striker Sesko from Leipzig
The transfer fee is 76.5 million euros (AED 326 million) with 8.5 million bonuses.
The 22-year-old Sesko, who joined Leipzig from Austrian club RB Salzburg in 2023, scored 39 goals in 87 appearances across all competitions for the German side.
Manchester United, who finished 15th in the Premier League last season, have also signed forwards Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo for the new campaign which starts at home to Arsenal on August 17.

All four of their new signings at a cost of £260 million ($350 million) — Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Frimpong and Milos Kerkez — started. Ekitike's role this season could depend on whether Liverpool are successful in their pursuit of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak. But the Frenchman — signed from Eintracht Frankfurt last month for an initial £69 million -- did his case to be Slot's preferred number nine no harm at all. The Liverpool fans had risen to chant Jota's name as the game entered the 20th minute when their side retook the lead. Frimpong's chipped cross caught out Henderson and flew into the far corner. Ekitike wasted a great chance for his second early in the second half from another Wirtz pass as this time he fired over. However, Slot's new-look side are still to find the right balance between attack and defence as has been evidenced during pre-season. 'The combinations look sometimes sharper now,' said Slot on the difference in his side to last season. 'We are able to create more but we are conceding at the moment more as well. If you want to compete to win the league, you cannot concede these chances. 'We conceded too much today to win the game.' Liverpool's spending in the transfer market may not be over as they continue to be linked with a move for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak. However, Slot dismissed the claim that the transfer spending will put his players under more pressure this season. 'Because we are Liverpool the pressure is always on,' he said. 'That is nothing to do with brining players in.' Palace were a constant threat with balls in behind the Reds' defence and levelled again 13 minutes from time. Had things gone to plan with Marcus Rashford, the Mancunian striker would be preparing to play another season for his childhood team Manchester United. But life seldom goes to plan. Barca's home stadium is delayed again with the latest hope that it will open for a La Liga game against Valencia next month. With Estadi Olimpic, their temporary home for the past two seasons, otherwise occupied hosting concerts, the Catalan giants played their traditional pre-season curtain raiser at the home of their all-conquering female side, the 6,000 capacity Johan Cruyff stadium on the outskirts of the city. It was here that Rashford had an early chance to make a strong impression. Manchester United finished 15th last season, their worst season for 50 years, and Rashford's United career was cut short when he went on loan to Aston Villa before the recent move to Barcelona on a one-year loan. The switch of stadiums wasn't the biggest deal for this game - the Gamper is usually packed with visiting tourists rather than the week in, week out season ticket holders who tend to be away on holiday – but the much smaller crowd still meant a financial hit and Camp Nou needs to be ready. Rashford has been welcomed by his new teammates and fans and has performed well in pre-season. He has the chance of a fresh start but isn't yet registered to play in La Liga which starts next week with an away game at Real Mallorca. Such uncertainty is the norm at Barcelona. Como, 10th in Serie A last season, were apt guests given former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas is their coach. Rashford, wearing the number 14 shirt once sported by Thierry Henry, was introduced to fans as the final player an hour before kick-off – the biggest name of the summer arrivals. He started the game as the central forward with Lamine Yamal, the world's best youngster, to his right, and Raphinha, a candidate for the Ballon d'Or, to his left. Pedri, Frenkie de Jong and Fermin Lopez were behind. There's deep quality in the side which is one of the best in football – and will be hard to break into. Unselfish in the first minute when he had a chance on goal, Rashford gave a risky pass on 13, then met a 19th minute ball with a heavy touch – a minute before Pedri put the team ahead. German coach Hansi Flick, who had spoken publicly in Spanish for the first time before the game, spoke to Rashford during a first-half drinks break. The Mancunian got into good positions, was always asking for the ball and celebrated as Fermin got the second. He was responsible for the best move of the first half when he took the ball with his back to goal, passed and then sprinted for the return which he met with a cross for Raphinha for the third on 38 minutes. Yamal made it 4-0 just before the break, then set Rashford up with a chance to make it 5-0. Somehow, he shot wide and smiled since he knew he should've buried it. 'Rashford! Rashford!' chanted the small crowd in support. The Englishman was one of two changes at half-time, before Yamal made it 5-0 after the restart. Flick's system could suit the Mancunian. Barcelona's front three of Lamal, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha scored 94 goals last term but the team are likely to play 60 games this season and need back-up. Lewandowski is injured and 37 this month. Yamal played 69 times for club and country last season. Ferran Torres, who scored 19 in 2024/25, knows the role and that you're playing among very gifted footballers. Athletic Club's Nico Williams was a target for the Catalans, Liverpool's Luiz Diaz too, but Rashford ended up making the move to a club he said he wanted to join since the start of the year when it was clear he had no United future under Ruben Amorim. Barcelona, who tried to buy Rashford three times previously, have an option to take Rashford permanently for €30m next summer. He has between now and then to prove that he's worth it and take the chances when he gets them.

Arne Slot admits defensive concerns after Liverpool's Community Shield defeat
Liverpool manager Arne Slot conceded his team need to get their act together in defence when they begin their Premier League campaign, after defeat in the Community Shield to Crystal Palace on Sunday. The Premier League title holders have spent heavily in the summer, signing playmaker Florian Wirtz, plus forward Hugo Ekitike and attacking full-backs Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez, even as key players departed Anfield. Liverpool won the league in Slot's first term with only Federico Chiesa added to the squad left by former boss Jurgen Klopp. Fans would have expected the team to only grow stronger after the transfer spree. The new-look Liverpool side has started brightly, scoring 20 goals in six pre-season friendlies. But after conceding two goals to Palace, having shipped eight in their last four warm-up games, Slot expressed concern that Liverpool's improved attack may have come at a price. 'Last season we had a lot of ball possession but that didn't always lead to promising situations,' Slot said after they were beaten 3-2 on penalties following a 2-2 draw with Palace. 'Now we are better in creating and getting promising situations than we were, in my opinion, throughout the whole last season. 'But the other side is also true. What made us really strong last season was we only won mostly [by] a margin of one goal and that had mostly to do with us keeping a clean sheet or as a maximum conceding one goal.' He added: 'It needs maybe a little bit of adjustment defensively at the moment because we don't concede a lot of chances, but we do concede goals at the moment.' Still, Slot is confident Liverpool can integrate their new signings, adding that 'sometimes you need some time either to adapt offensively, to adapt defensively'. Liverpool maintained their pattern of pre-season friendlies as they were cut open with ease on the counter-attack. AC Milan beat Slot's team 4-2 in Hong Kong, while Liverpool edged out Athletic Bilbao 3-2 in one of two friendlies against the Basques on their return to Anfield on Monday. 'If you look at our attacking play against a team that is so compact, that might be a bit better than last season,' said Slot. 'We only could score one goal against Palace [last season]. Now we scored two and created more against them. 'But, on the other hand, we conceded two goals, which we did against Bilbao, and we conceded a couple more against Milan, so that is something we need to do better.' There was an unfortunate incident during the match that caused consternation. A tribute to former Liverpool forward Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva was disrupted when some fans failed to observe a moment's silence. Before the game at the Wembley Stadium both teams and their staff stood silently to commemorate the brothers, who died in a car accident in Spain in July. A minority of fans broke the silence, eliciting a strong response at the other end of the field as well as from other Eagles supporters who tried to silence those not respecting the tribute. Referee Chris Kavanagh then blew his whistle to signal the end of the tribute. Liverpool manager Slot later played down the incident. 'I don't think this was planned, or that this was the idea of the fan that made some noise. Maybe he wasn't aware of the fact that it was the minute of silence,' he said. 'And I think then the fans of Palace were trying to calm that person or those persons down … They tried to calm him down, but that was a bit noisy as well. And then our fans reacted, 'Hey, what's happening here?''
