'The Kannada language has a very long history. Poor (Kamal Haasan) does not know,' he said.Leader of the Opposition R Ashoka described Kamal Haasan as a 'madman' and called upon Kannadigas to boycott him. Now questions are being raised and the demand for a special parliamentary session on the attack and Operation Sindoor is growing.Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, sharing an interview clip of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, accused the latter of giving Pakistan prior information about 'Operation Sindoor', an allegation rebutted by the MEA as "utter misrepresentation of facts".Jaishankar told a Parliamentary panel that Pakistan was informed about Operation Sindoor only after India struck nine terror camps in that country and that his remarks were 'twisted' and 'misrepresented' to suggest that the neighbouring nation was informed prior to the military action. Responding to questions from MPs about US President Donald Trump's recurring remarks on ceasefire, Jaishankar insisted that there was 'no interference' by the United States in the ceasefire decision, which was taken after talks between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) on a request from the Pakistan side.Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy joined in to question Prime Minister Narendra Modi on why the government ended military operations against Pakistan half-way and failed to seek all-party opinion before declaring a ceasefire.Mounting pressure on the Modi government, Trinamool Congress, RJD, Samajwadi Party, CPI(M) and CPI have joined in to demand a Special Session of Parliament on the Pahalgam terror attack and India's Operation Sindoor. Tharoor appeared to suggest that Congress governments did not conduct surgical strikes like the Modi government did by claiming that the country breached the LoC for the first time in 2016. Modi made another bold statement, claiming that India has become the fourth-largest economy in the world, surpassing Japan. However, NITI Aayog member Arvind Virmani has clarified that India would overtake Japan by the end of 2025 to become the fourth-largest economy.Joining in the theatrical statements, Amit Shah said, 'Under Modi's leadership, Operation Sindoor was undertaken. Punjab BJP deletes post paying tributes to ‘martyrs' of Operation Bluestar
The Punjab BJP has deleted a social media post in which it paid tributes to "martyrs" of Operation Blue Star, the Army operation which was carried out in June 1984 to flush out armed militants from the Golden Temple. The post on X was shared on Sunday but it was taken down later without assigning any reason for the same. In the post, the Punjab BJP had condemned the then Congress government for "attacking the Golden Temple" and expressed solidarity with the families of those who lost their lives. The post, which has now been deleted, read, "June 1, 1984'' 'Saka Neela Tara'. A humble tribute to all the martyrs of the day one of the attack on the Darbar Sahib by the Congress government." The BJP had also shared pictures of the damage suffered by the Akal Takht, which is the highest temporal seat of Sikhs, and an armoured vehicle with deflated tyres. The post, which was shared on Facebook as well, was deleted a few hours later. Meanwhile, officiating Jathedar of Akal Takht, Giani Kuldip Singh Gargaj has appealed to the Sikh community to commemorate the first week of June, which he described it as 'Shaheedi Hafta' (martyrdom week), with the "spirit of Panthic unity and pay respectful homage to the martyrs." In a statement, Gargaj stated, "In June 1984, when Sikh devotees had gathered to observe the martyrdom day of the fifth Guru, Guru Arjan Dev, the then Congress-led government launched a military assault using tanks, artillery, and bullets on the central Sikh religious place, Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib, and Sri Akal Takht Sahib." He said, "the Sikh community can never forget the military attack of June 1984. "The first week of June each year is a deeply emotional and solemn time for the 'Panth', when martyrs are remembered," he said. The jathedar urged that from June 1 to 6, special 'Gurmat Samagams' (religious congregations), lectures, and seminars should be organised globally by Sikhs. He also instructed all gurdwara management committees to hold special Sri Akhand Path Sahib recitations and invite historians and preachers to gurdwaras to educate 'sangat' (congregation) about the events of June 1984 and November 1984 (anti-Sikh riots).
