Sonu Nigam, one of the most loved singers in the music industry, was snapped at Mumbai airport. When the paparazzi noticed him, they asked him to wait and pose for the camera, but Sonu revealed that he was not keeping well and swiftly walked inside the airport. On the morning of July 21, Sonu Nigam was clicked at the Mumbai airport. The ace singer looked dashing in a brown T-shirt paired with grey pants and smart black shoes. He was seen carrying a jacket in his hands. As Sonu reached the airport, he interacted with the paparazzi stationed there for a while before making his way inside. Slamming the media house, the singer wrote, 'Are you out of your mind? How many times have I declared I am not on Twitter? Spreading misinformation in my name is only going to poison the minds of people who have loved me so much all these years. Not everyone will have the sense to fact-check your news. I'm truly done with this country's desperate and brutal media. Shame." Earlier, Sonu had also lashed out at a person from Bengaluru who asked him to sing Kannada songs during his stage performance in the Silicon Valley of India. BJP calls Surjewala ‘Super CM' after grants sanctioned to MLAs
Bengaluru: Taking a jibe at the decision of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to sanction Rs 50 crore each for local area development to all MLAs, especially those from the ruling party, following their one-on-one meeting with Congress National General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, the state BJP has dubbed the Karnataka Incharge as the 'Super CM' of the state. Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Legislative Assembly, R. Ashoka stated on Saturday, 'For the past 26 months, Congress MLAs were unable to even walk with their heads held high in their own constituencies, as they hadn't received a single paisa in grants from their own government. But thanks to the impact of six days of meetings held by Super CM Surjewala, they have now managed to get Rs 50 crore each sanctioned from CM Siddaramaiah.' Targeting Dy CM D.K. Shivakumar, he stated, 'Dear Shivakumar, what do you mean when you say Opposition MLAs must wait patiently for constituency funds? Let us remind you, Mr. D.K. Shivakumar — the state treasury is not your Congress party fund. It is the hard-earned tax money of 6.5 crore Kannadigas. Stop this stepmotherly attitude and release funds equally for all constituencies.' Meanwhile, State President B. Y. Vijayendra responding to a question about disparity in fund allocation to MLAs, sarcastically said, 'The Chief Minister has been kind, apparently.' He pointed out that Siddaramaiah has written a letter regarding release of Rs 50 crore to all MLAs in Karnataka. 'Has the amount been released? When will it be released? When will it reach the MLAs? When will development work actually happen? These remain unanswered,' he remarked. Responding to criticism, Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil stated, 'The grants will be released to all MLAs. We will not follow disparity of the BJP government which did not release grants to our MLAs. CM Siddaramaiah has stated that the funds will be granted on the basis of need to all MLAs.' Of the Rs 50 crore Rs 37 crore will be earmarked for roads, bridges and other works. The remaining Rs 12.5 crore has been left to the discretion of MLAs for projects of their choice. The CM has also announced district-wise meetings with MLAs on July 30-31.

‘Mane Manege Police': Bengaluru cops to go door-to-door to connect with citizens
In an effort to build stronger ties with communities and make policing more approachable, the Karnataka police have launched a unique door-to-door initiative titled 'Mane Manege Police' (Police to Every Home), Times of India reported. Officers will visit homes across neighbourhoods, not to question or investigate, but to listen, assist, and connect. (Representational Image) As part of this outreach, officers will visit homes across neighbourhoods, not to question or investigate, but to listen, assist, and connect. According to a report in The Times of India, the programme was formally launched on Friday by Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara in MC Layout, West Bengaluru. While it begins in the state capital, the initiative is set to be rolled out across Karnataka in the coming weeks. 'The police should not be feared. They should be seen as part of the community, as brothers and sisters,' said Parameshwara during the launch event, the report added. He emphasised that building mutual trust is essential for safer, more cooperative neighbourhoods. (Also Read: 'If 70% Hindi people leave, you...': Bengaluru massage therapist abuses Kannadigas, arrested) What will the police do? According to the report, under this initiative, beat constables will go door-to-door within their jurisdictions, interacting with residents, noting down grievances, and offering solutions where possible. Each household's basic details, such as names, ages, professions, languages spoken, and duration of stay in Bengaluru, will be logged into a register maintained by the local police. Homes that have been visited will receive a door sticker to mark the interaction. Officers will also raise awareness about cybercrime, drug abuse, and crimes against women and children, according to The Times of India. What can residents share? The initiative encourages residents to open up about their concerns, be it harassment from anti-social elements, suspected drug peddling, or bullying of children. Citizens can also alert police about new faces in the locality or neighbours who appear isolated or unapproachable. Home Minister Parameshwara noted that this initiative will also help parents stay informed about their children's peer groups, especially in cases where they may be unknowingly involved in harmful activities. The launch was accompanied by a live demonstration, with the minister and senior officials visiting homes in MC Layout, personally engaging with residents and entering their details in the police logbook.
